The phone rang for a while but went to voicemail and Koji made a disgruntled noise. "No answer.." He said, ending the call. As he searched through his phone for someone else to call, he realized there wasn't as much as he anticipated.
Skotti, no... Luciano, no... HQ-Main Office, I doubt that will be helpful right now..
Not only did he not have the personal information for a lot his fellow team members, he also wasn't sure who would be able to help right now. Their forces were stretched pretty thin as it was.
"Maybe she'd be more willing to answer from a familiar number." He said, trying not to sound useless for having exhausted his resources on the first try. Koji dialed the number again from his own phone, hoping to get a response.

Twi was not happy about revealing his capabilities to Nari... but he figured it was the best thing he could do. he sighed and answered her.

"aye, I can manipulate Shadows and am quite adept at Shadow Magic. I specialized in obfuscation, rather than full-on invisibility. also, Illusions and Shadow-Summoning. it conjures Emphameral material from the Shadow Realm. nothing of that nature can truely harm anyone, though."

he looked around before he continued, looking Nari straight in the face. "I am also a Master of Portals. transportation magic is one use of this, but much harder for me. but I can make a two-way Portal from scratch if need be. I've always had a knack for it. I used to have hidden Portals in this very building that few members knew about."

Nari wasn't expecting Twi to have so many... unique abilities under his belt. That seemed like an appropriate word. She had an idea of what obfuscation was and obviously knew about invisibility, though she wasn't entirely sure if he specifically meant he could distort his image or something else. Whatever it was, she didn't think it would be entirely useful at the moment. Her teammates needed to see that he had been captured. That was the whole point of them going through these shenanigans.

She was now working on the knots around Twi's arms when a thought in her brain clicked. She stopped untying the knots, a look akin to surprise on her face while she stared at Twi's face. Twi has the power to create portals. Koji and Twi disappeared through a portal the last time they were together. The shock melted from her face and was replaced with another dark glare. 'Oh, there better be a good explanation for this...' she thought, feeling herself getting angry again. With this new information, Nari assumed that Twi had to be the one who opened the portal. There was finally some explanation to that night.

"So you are the one who abducted Koji back--" she said, almost snarled, until her phone buzzed again in her pocket. Sighing out of annoyance, she pulled it out again. Her reaction changed once more when she saw whose number it was. Eyes wide, she gasped out, "K-koji!" before answering. "Koji! Are you alright? Where are you?" she said quickly, concern obviously laced in her voice.

Twi leaned back a bit as Nari began to accuse him. in truth, however, he'd rather she thought that. he didn't need her to trust him if it meant she had any reason to distrust Koji. this lie would help to maintain Koji's 'innocence' for lack of a better word.

though at the mention of Koji's name, even Twi's eyes got wide and he seemed to gasp in disbelief. he sighed suddenly, glad to hear that his friend was still alive. hopefully safe and well, too.

Luciano stayed quiet, making sure his breathing matched that of someone unconscious; Just like how he was trained to do.
While the traitor kept driving, with Koji on the passenger side, Luciano moved his leg a certain way so that when they got to HQ, his knife was easily accessible so that he could cut the bindings around his wrists.

"Tell your friend that we're close to HQ, and that we'll need a bed ready as well as a sedative; Luciano is currently out, and we need to keep him that way for as long as we can so that we can complete this mission."
Luciano clenched his jaw. His plan was in danger of being foiled, and he needed to think of a way to prevent getting the sedative. Luciano looked around the car, hoping to think of something before they arrived at HQ... "Think, Luciano! Think!!"

"I'm fine." He replied, trying to push past the pleasantries and get to business. "Listen, we're not far from HQ, Luciano is out cold so we're going to need a bed ready and a sedative to keep it that way." He realized how crazy he must sound leading with that but didn't have time to think about better phrasing. "I'll explain more when we meet up," He said, then hesitated. "You are at HQ, right?" The thought hadn't crossed his mind with someone feeding him lines.

The excitement in Nari's demeanor died down after hearing Koji's brief explanation of his situation. Her eyes dulled, and suspicion replaced her relief. She stared blankly at the ground and put her free hand on her mouth as she tried to formulate an idea to explain why Luc was unconscious. 'Did Luciano get injured? That's very plausible... but only serious injuries require sedating,' she rationed. Then she wondered, 'Who is "we"?' If Luciano was knocked out, she highly doubted Koji could haul him back to HQ on his own without a helper. Nari had Max to assist her with relocating Twi, so he probably had someone else as well. The only people who were with Luciano at the time were she and Sabe. Sabe was here, and everyone else in the gang was out of commission as far as she knew. This wasn't sounding good, but she had to give Koji an answer. A few seconds had already passed.

"...Yes," she admitted hesitantly at first and looked at Twi, debating how much to reveal over the phone. "I'm at HQ. I can arrange that and prepare some medical supplies." she said more resolutely before hanging up the phone and sliding it in her pocket. She decided not to reveal anything and play dumb, assuming their leader was injured. Perhaps it was best for neither side to know what they were getting into.

Sighing exaggeratedly, she refocused on her conversation with Twi. She gave him a long, hard stare, deciding whether or not being angry was worth it at this point. Koji was en route, and this situation was starting to become more confusing. "Don't think that call meant you're off the hook," she grumbled to Twi as she retied the knots around his arms. She could settle for being just a little angry, she supposed.

"Listen carefully. Koji is on his way back to HQ, but Luciano's apparently with him unconscious. He said he needed a bed and sedative. I'll get Sabe to prepare what Koji wants... Honestly, I think another person is involved on their side, which means that we have to be even more careful with our act when they come in the next several minutes." She looked at Twi seriously, not glaring at him for once, and said somewhat gravely, "I can't protect you if someone comes in and decides to pull a gun on you. I can only try to talk them out of harming you. You can transform like Jacob Black--" yes, she said it without even joking, "if things get out of hand, but you'd still risk having a bloody fight, and there's no guarantee that you could escape from here. If push comes to shove, I want you to create a portal and get far away. We'll just have to regroup in the alley-- same time, 2 days... Alright?"

Satisfied that she had retied Twi's arms properly, she stood up and pointed at him like a bad puppy. "Stay. Play dead," she said and left the room. But seriously, she needed him to play dead in case anyone else came to the room.

As soon as she was out, she sprinted out of the basement, through the library, and to the bottom of the stairs to call for Sabe. She took a very deep breath and yelled at the top of her lungs, "SAAAAAAABE!! I need your help, please!! Can you get a sedative and prepare a bed in the infirmary?!?!" If that didn't get his attention, nothing would. She would have just gone upstairs, but then she would be a poor attendant of a prisoner. Going out of the room at all was bad enough.

((Kinda sped things along. Hope there are no mistakes. >A<.))

Twi knew that this wasn't the time to feel indignant or offended. his pride was a little sore, but resilient. this wasn't the first serious and intense moment he'd had to face. war is war, and lives were on the line. Nari was right.

he had to admit to himself, he had underestimated the young elf. she was surprisingly mature and wise when it came down to it. she knew what she was doing. he didn't know whether to pity her or praise her for it, but he was impressed either way. she must have been in alot of ******** up situations.

he sighed a bit, and then let himself drift into a near-coma. being undead had it's advantages; among them, the part about not needing to eat, sleep, breath, or move like normal people. he had no vital signs, after all. although, he wasn't sure who would by the lie that a single operative could have a passed out vampire in a wheelbarrow without a stake in his heart. oh well, it would have to work for now.

Twi focused all his thoughts on a contingent teleport. he would have the spell ready to pop in the nick of time if all went according to plan, he thought. or rather, he hoped. he had a few minutes. that should be enough to zip away. just a little dimensional phase. it wouldn't get him far, but it would suffice.

with all of his efforts focused on preparing this contingency, he couldn't pay attention to anything else. he had to be lucky at this point.

It took way longer than anyone would have liked, but Sabe got up from the bed and out of his room. He wasn't sure what Nariana was talking about, but she'd probably yell her head off if he didn't do anything.

"Isn't there already sedatives and stuff in the basement?...we don't even have an infirmary..." he grumbled as he walked by her at the bottom of the stairs. He walked off to the basement stairs and started to descend.
PostPosted: Mon Dec 16, 2013 9:48 pm

"What?" Nari asked herself and blinked, not realizing that she had what was needed already. She thought she heard him say that there was no infirmary. 'Oh, d-mn,' she thought and rolled her eyes. Maybe all this stress was causing her to forget simple things? Then a quiet, "Nooo," came out after Sabe passed her and made his way to the basement. She scurried behind him to grab him before he could get near the interrogation room.

Quickly articulated lies mixed with the truth came out of her mouth as her hands flew around her, "No! I need the sedatives in the basement for Twi. I only left the because I knocked him out again and have him restrained... Koji just called me and said he needed a sedative and bed for Luciano. The guy was yelling over Koji like a mad man. I heard, 'Kill the traitors!' and your name garbled in the mix. It was a bit unnerving, even for me. Koji managed to restrain him, but you don't want him rampaging in HQ with his gun if he got free... Maybe hiding in your room wouldn't be so bad, but I think you can do better. After what happened in the car earlier, do you really want to be around him today? Do you really want to be around him when I'm in the vicinity, too?? Not to mention, I've incarcerated Twi, as well. If I were you, I'd find another sedative for me fast and then stay far away from Luciano when they arrive."

That was the longest ramble of BS she'd done in a while. She hoped that maybe a little bit of fear would speed him along and out of her way.

Overwhelmed with the flood of words from Nariana's mouth, Sabe could only point to doors and say a little bit himself. "They're in there," he said, pointing to the interrogation room, "or try that one...I don't know what's in it", pointing to another door so inconspicuous it may as well have not been there. The doorknob was coated with a thick layer of dust. Obviously nobody had touched it in a long while.

He didn't go into the interrogation room, but he didn't leave the basement either; he was still processing bits and pieces of what he was just told.
PostPosted: Fri Dec 20, 2013 8:06 pm

Welp! This guy was no help. 'My blood pressure...' she thought, exasperated by his uselessness and her thoughtlessness. "Forget the sedative then... Just go do whatever you were doing before..." she mumbled and trudged back down to the interrogation room, closing the door behind her and locking Sabe out.

A loud groan came from Nari as she slid to the floor with her back against the door. 'Koji'll just have to make do on his own. I can't deal with it right now,' she thought as she placed her right hand on her head and sighed again. She seemed to do this a lot lately. Perhaps it was because some things weren't worth words.

Pulling herself together, she stood up and returned to Twi's side. She was pleasantly surprised to find him looking about as alive as a rock and gave a small huff of approval. But then she realized that he was being too still. She cleared her throat inconspicuously, not sure what else to say at the moment if Sabe was withing hearing range. She didn't know how soundproof the room was, so it was better to err on the side of caution. If Twi was faking it, he'd move or do something she could easily discern. Otherwise, she might have to leave him be as-is. Her plan was to chain him to the wall, though in a faulty way. Then he'd have no trouble breaking free with a little force and using one of his powers to get away. But if he was preparing anything with his powers, she wouldn't disturb him.

Sabe huffed and shook his head. You know what, ******** you, I try to help and you just scoff at me...

He made his way for the stairs, but something was nagging him: the other door had never been opened in a long time, if it had even been there. He didn't have any clue about its history or contents, and now was a perfect time to snoop around. Curiosity had gotten the better of him, and he turned the dusty doorknob.

Surprisingly, the door was unlocked. All this time, and anyone could have just went through the door! Except no one did. Little light made it to the other room. Sabe peered inside to make sense of the vague outlines. Then, by some force unknown to him, he was shoved into the middle of the dark room and the door shut behind him. In the basement, the dusty door had become just an outline drawn in thicker dust.

Very familiar, effeminate giggling erupted, and seemed to pass through the walls. In the interrogation room, a short figure appeared. It was Waffle once more, but her halo was missing and her only clothing was a plain grey gown that reached to just under the knees.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 31, 2014 11:18 am

Twi's trance was undoubtedly interupted by the slammed door, and when he snapped awake, he stared in wide-eyed disbelief at the image of Waffle in the room. his thoughts raced. what? when did she get here? how did she get here? this wasn't part of the plan!?

the lack of her halo also creeped him out. not to mention her grey clothes. something seemed really really off about this...

Twi wasn't sure he could speak. he felt a lump in his throat, and he was paralyzed with dread. was she going to torture him again? what was she doing here? why did she look so wrong!?

The Waffle-image snapped her fingers. There was a delay, then another figure appeared nearby. Just like the first, she snapped her fingers. Now two more came into view, repeating just the same together...then three...then five...then eight and so on, until the walls blended together into one seamless dome of these figures, all looking at Twi with the same piercing eyes and soulless grin. Despite their same grey garb, lack of halo, and unsettling expression, no two looked exactly alike.

The room Sabe was in, if anyone could call it a room any longer, was pitch black. Sabe saw nothing, nor did he hear the cacophony of snapping from elsewhere. He crawled in the direction from which he came, to slam on the door, but there wasn't even a wall there for him to bang on. He tried hitting the floor, but nothing came of it either. Where am I?!

As a last effort, he yelled and hollered for Nariana to open the door...but the words lost their sound as they escaped his throat.
