"Oh, me? I don't really have too much of a curfew. I'm needed in the North Pole from November through the beginning of December though, to make sure everything works accordingly," Brynjar spoke, giving Charity a bright smile. "Do you have to be home by a certain time?"

"I usually have a curfew. It's kinda early though," she laughed softly, blushing somewhat. "So maybe we can't hang out too much. Especially if you're needing in the North Pole for that time-" Charity abruptly stopped and looked to the boy, slightly surprised. "Why do you need to be in the North Pole, now?"

Brynjar smiled, shrugging a shoulder. "I can make time for you when your curfew isn't in swing." He took a deep breath, surprised by her question. "Why, I'm needed to assist Santa. To make sure all the toy making is completed in time for Christmas!"

The girl watched him speak, the corners of her mouth rather twitching as she resisted the urge to smile. "I don't remember if you told me anything like that before, when we first met, but..." Charity trailed off, somewhat enthralled by the thought. "You really work for Santa? I..." She blushed, looking down. "Thought that he didn't exist or something."

"A lot of people don't believe in him," Brynjar spoke, trying to comfort the girl. "But what's more magical is that so many do. You don't have to if you don't want to, but what a jolly ol' chap he is," the man continued, hissing a happy laugh as he smiled to her.

"Maybe I just don't ever get on his good list," the girl responded, shrugging a shoulder. "Plus, my cousin always told me he wasn't real." Charity pouted slightly, sinking in her seat. "I guess I believed it after a while."

Brynjar's eyes watered severely, his lower lip trembling. "Why, Charity... you've never gotten presents for Christmas?" he cried, looking to her in disbelief.

The girl's eyes widened as she peered at him, her hands clutching onto the edge of the table. "Well, no," she replied almost shyly, her cheeks a soft pink color. "But at least I never got a lump of coal in my stocking or anything, which is what the bad kids get, right? Not that I ever had a stocking anyways..." Charity trailed off.

"I'm going to make sure that changes. You're definitely going to get visited by Santa this year!" Brynjar spoke, determination in his eyes as he proudly put a hand over his heart. "I swear."

Charity watched him blankly for a few seconds before shaking her head. "You don't have to worry about it," she said. "I'm used to it. You should work on spreading Christmas cheer to kids much younger than me who deserve it more~" The girl have an affirmative nod, offering a warm smile.

Brynjar chuckled softly, cupping Charity's cheeks with his warm hands. "You'll get a gift this year, I promise," he spoke softly. "You more than deserve it after waiting so long."

"But I won't be able to get you anything," she frowned. "I have no monies. I get an allowance sometimes, but it's not very often, and it's also not very much." Charity blushed with embarrassment, sinking in her seat in a way where even she was sure she'd fall to the floor if she went any further. "What could I do for you?"

"If you'll be my friend, that's all the payment or gift I need in return," he spoke, leaning back against his seat. "Besides, friends aren't easy to find, presents are."

"I suppose that's true," the girl nodded slightly. "Friends are very hard to find. At least, they have been for me." Charity tilted her head thoughtfully, a smile forming her lips. "But of course I'll be friends with you~ That sounds so cool."

The boy laughed merrily, giving her a broad smile. "You're really something~ Ah, so bright," he spoke, coming to a stand. It took him a moment, his hand gripping at his hip as he did so, a pained expression on his face. "What would you like to do now, hmm?"
