hormagaunts in large swarms take the flak and tie up enemies in combat, then genstealers in large swarms are literaly unstopable in combat. they take down everything even the dam necron gods, and chaos demons.

yeah hormagaunts move 6 fleet of claw 1-6 then charge 12, thats a lot of movement in one turn. give the stealers leaping and sything talons and let them follow the hormagaunts for a 1-2 turn assault. JUST KEEP THEM IN SYNAPSE RANGE.

take scuttlers too. i like to just give them scuttlers and flesh borers

also consider larger ammounts of scuttlers and spine fists, dont expect them to do much. but if your opponent ignores them he will get tied up so that your big bugs can tear them to shreads

After you get the hormagaunts in combat they dont really need to be in Synapse range. So drop the hormagaunts in combat then move your Synapse creature ealsewhere to aid something else.

Scuttlers are usually taken with a broodlord andhis retinue. 12" out of sight or 18" in for infiltrate. 12" and you powerful broodlord and retinue can cleave through a nice portion of the enemy army.

on a side note: HawaiianHero, i know its a dumb question to ask, but you live in hawaii or is it in the name. If you do, you go to wards man. or jelly's since we dont have the room at wards is right now?

So, how 'bout them 'zilla armies, eh?

In a moment of weakness, I started pondering carnifex conversions. Anyone run the 8 monstrous creature setup?

It is tempting and would look cool, I'd like to see such a monster army go hoof to tread with an armoured company, a real battle of the beasts.

The buddy of mine that picked up 40k based on Dawn of War is planning on Iron Hands (or a Chapter with that sort of divergence) so he can run six dreadnoughts. That is, when not caring for his week-old infant.

Four years from now, when we've both purchased, assembled, and painted our respective forces, we'll play a game and I'll post a battle report here. razz

Thought not the place to really say this, but Blood angels can take 6 dreads. I do it all the time. Fight monster armies all the time i mean. Its hard for a dread to fight a carnifex. lots of prepwork. But my furioso's do find a way.

the zilla armies are cool but fail alot. the enemy can kill 2/3 of your army in ranged combat before you get to close. somtimes it works sometimes it dosent. if your a man of odds and risks go for it otherwise the horde approch with one or two carnifex is the way to go.
