DarkElf27 I must disagree. a 20-man guardian squad, 40 shots, bs 3, so 20 hits on average, about 13 wounds per turn per guardian squad. an average Eldar army has 2 or 3 such squads plus various CC Aspect Warrioir squads that will tie up and prevent your weapons from shooting in close combat. added to that are Falcons, which are pretty damn hard to shoot down. Well the day you manage to get a 20 guardian into firing range whole and hearty is the day that I hang up my commander boots Ditto for any close combat troops you have on hand. And of course I have more than enough fire power to keep the falcons off my a**. And Falcons present a negligable threat to my troops and their ability to return fire.

Falcons are how I'd get the troops there. fairlyu good armor, plus speed rules means you CANT get more than a glancing hit, but the Falcon still has all its outgoing fire. And and smart commander would keep his Guardians in cover as long as possible.

DarkElf27 Falcons are how I'd get the troops there. fairlyu good armor, plus speed rules means you CANT get more than a glancing hit, And for some reason you think that the 5 Eldar players I play against haven't tried this? You probaly can't get more than 2 falcons without significantly hampering how much is spent elsewhere on your army. And with glancing hits you guns will be knocked out anyway and it has a small chance of actually continueing moving under your control. Quote: but the Falcon still has all its outgoing fire. eh. I have yet to be impressed with the falcon's shooting potential. Quote: And and smart commander would keep his Guardians in cover as long as possible. Which is of course more time that I can spend pounding their asses with my long range guns.

IF theyre unlucky. The right Eldar army can be jsut as massed as a IG one, with equivelent tanks. Everything just comes down to the Dice rolls.

Let's see, if I have to believe everything stated above, IG are born to loose each battle against the Eldar. *Whee...* Like I haven't heard that all before.
Massed lasgun fire (Go ahead turds, laugh) can wipe out anything. The AP value of '-' makes it all the more painfull for some as they loose a terminator to such a thing. No fancy mathematics with a % of crap to say how much it takes, blah. If you need bloody percentages to win a battle become an accountant!
AV 14 tanks are not easily shot away, unless you are very lucky and perform such in each game, which alot of people suffer from aroudn here. Or in most cases, you hit the vehicle in the flank or rear, but never report it. (Which might explain how someone could take out a Russ with an autocannon. Frontal? Naaaah!)
Ah ya, we suck, we know it. Oh no, Eldar on the ridge! Send in three squads to stall them! No wait, send in the conscripts, thirty bodies could stop them for two turns at the very least. Nope, meet them head on. Plenty of bodies for the grinder. What's twenty men if you can take down some of those elite ponsy things?
Bah! The Imperial Guard takes on anything that crawls from the evolutionary toiletbowl! They are the last line of defence in the Imperium. Ponsy spacers are way to low in number to perform all the miracles.
So, who's willing to serve for a good twenty years and give the enemies of the Imperium a good thrashing!

Eldar and Imperial Guard are nearly opposite, Guard with many little models, while Eldar have a few (Excluding Guardians) very powerful units. However the Eldar are much more versatile.
