I've heard a rumor in my Games Workshop in England that the Necrons are getting abit of an upgrade.
All necron units(Not including monolith)get a +1 toughness ungrade and get Feel No Pain instead of We'll Be Back. Their the same but you don't have to wait a turn to use the necrons that have come back biggrin .
Toughness 7 Necron lord mrgreen mrgreen mrgreen

Feel no pain might make sense, but I somehow doubt the +1 toughness; that is, unless they come at least 10 points more expensive.

Well, maybe the thought isn't a universal +1 toughness, but just +1 for Warriors, Wraiths, and Flayed Ones, to make 'Necron' units T5 across the board. Probably bump Warriors up to 20 points even. Feel No Pain is almost necessary, with the new combat resolution modifiers in 5th. If WBB stays the same as it currently is, Necrons will be getting spanked hard in 5th. Feel No Pain instead of the current WBB helps mitigate casualties in combat, helping them with that difficult Ld. check.

Hi, I just jioned here, I've been collecting Necrons for nearly 3 years now. As for this +1 toughness rumour, I haven't heard anything about that in my area, the nearest to that is the Apcolispe (can't spell, sorry) rule that if you have 3 monoliths in a triangle, everything within that triangle get a +1 to their we'll be back roll

What was being bounced around was a rumor for their next Codex. However, the Monolith Phalanx is a terrifying special ability. +1 to WBB, no psychic powers across it...eurgh.

For the sake of beating GW Law...

Plague Marines are T5 with Feel no Pain. A squad of 10 Plague Marines costs 230 points.

Great fun for me though, just need to save up enough to buy 2 more Monoliths, although it is funny using the counting as rule and have 3 scarab bases as monoliths xd

I personally would suggest that you lay your hands on an actual Monolith and take measurements. That's what I do, and I'm in the process of making a chain of paper and cardboard proxies for my armies as I raise money for the rest of my things.

I do have a monolith, but it was the first model of tank proportions that I painted, and as such I messed it up big time, so now it sits on my desk staring at me, asking when I'm going to finally fix it up or throw it away.

Then use that as a model to make the proxies so that you aren't using Scarab bases.

Seriously, make a proper base, or use something suitable monolithic, like a taped shut shoebox or something. I don't mind proxies and the like, but I hold any "counts as" models to the same basing and size rules that GW puts forth; i.e. you can re-base your models onto bigger bases for scenic purposes, but you can't use a smaller base than the one supplied. Or in this case, you can't use a model with a smaller footprint than the original. I mean come on, if you don't want to shell out for a Monolith, it's the easiest model to scratch-build a facsimile of, since all you need is a foam block and some patience.

For the sake of asking actual Necron players, what would you guys say is your most deadly unit that can be fielded for the sake of prioritizing targets in a potential Apocalyptic battle.

Damn...we need to rebuild the proxy thread with all of the discussion that's being done on it in various places...*heads to the modeling forum*
