Charade looked at Artemis. "I just hope this isn't the way it was meant to be," she said, looking around the train station. "This is really different. What's on this territry anyway?"

"What's on this territory?" Lily repeated. "I couldn't even begin to tell you. Though, we use a lot of computers." She pointed to Artemis's laptop. "And we'll head to my acolyte Jake's house first. The other travelers, Jade and the others, will probably be at his place. If they arent' there, we'll head to the Computer Reasearch center, then to my apartment." She Lead the group out of the small park. A large screen stood on top of one of the buildings, but strangley, it was black. Few people were on the normally busy sidewalks, and those that were, rushed about with worried faces. She stopped one of the passerbys. "excuse me sir, what's the date?"

"Why, it's July 24th, 5032. Monday," he informed her. She said thanks, and turned to the rest of the group.

"It's my 21st birthday." she stated simply, settling into a state of shock. She had been gone for over a year and a half.

Ilandere was helped along by Izzy and for this she was grateful. She could have never made it on her own. She felt faint and dizzy and her stomach twisted with every step. Her shoulder hurt terribly and her entire body was weak with exhaustion. She was even too tired to cry.

Thoughts of Themba kept running through her mind and the ring on her finger that was to wed the two seemed cold a hard. Her thoughts would drift but everything seemed to bring back a painful memory of him. She couldn’t help but think of him.

When the group stopped and Lily went to go ask another person what the date was, Ilandere rested her head on Izzy’s shoulder. She began drifting off into sleep and was nearly sleeping when Lily returned and announced that it was her 21st birthday.

"I would say congradulations Lily, but I think that isn't a good thing."
Artemis rebooted his laptop. When he looked down to where the date and time was he nearly fainted. The date on his computer said July 18th, 2009. He left Second Earth a few days ago, and three years already passed. He closed the laptop and leaned back precariously.
"Strange. This is your twenty-first birthday Lily. But suprisingly enough, it's nine days after my twenty-third birthday in Second Earth. Strange. I've been gone for only a few days."
Artemis groaned and stood up. This is not good, not good at all. Taylor and Nick are probably worried about me. Crap!

((WHOA. You know, that whole time difference thing would definatly screw up someone's biological clock.))

Izzy was a little to shocked at the things going on around her. The hustle and bustle of all the people, the bits and peices of technology that was unknown to her.

"Whoa mates. That makes you old!" She said softly, not wanting to startle or really wake Ilandere. Her humor was shown by a smile that didn't reach her eyes. Trying hard to keep up her somewhat ignorent and happy composure, Izzy couldn't help but give Ilandere another concerned look. Knowing well that there wasn't time for them to rest at the moment, Izzy gently knelt.

Offering to carry Ilandere piggy back style, worry was evident in her voice, "Ilandere, you need your rest. Walking around like this isn't going to help you get better. Let me carry you at least for a little while."

"Here, we'll go to my place first. It's not far. We can all rest... today's been eventful. I'll try to find Jake tomorrow." She led them to her own house, which was convinently only a block or so away. Then she pulled a key from underneath a loose brik in the sidewalk, and let them in. "Home sweet home. Though I expect it'll be a bit stuffy." She led them in, and opened a window to let the fresh air in. She then went to flip on the lights, but nothing happened.

Artemis sniffed. I am not old. I'm still twenty years old. But according to Second Earth, I'm not. He looked around the house. He nodded in acknowledgement at the small yet obviously comfortable house.
"Nice place Lily. I like what you've done with the place. But it seems a little...confined. So. Let's get back down to business. I'm tired of wasting time, doing nothing. First things first. Lily, what runs the power?"
PostPosted: Sat Oct 28, 2006 9:19 am

"Well, obviously a generator, that much hasn't changed in over 3000 years. It's probably just having a power-outage. But..."

"But Saint Dane is here. I should know. I saw him here myself. He came to me when I was typing."

"Exactly. So, when everyone gets settled in here, I'm going to run down to work... I mean, the research center, and see what's wrong. You guys can come with, or stay here."

"I'll go with you Lily. I haven't seen much of Third Earth. And the research center is where everything is correct?"
PostPosted: Sat Oct 28, 2006 3:11 pm

She gave a small laugh. "There, and the library. We'll mostly be in my sector, which is research of your time period, and I'm sure you already know everything about it. But if we have time, I'll give you a tour." She looked in the cupboards, then remembered that everything was over a year and a half old, and probably no good, being either stale or rotten. She was suprised to find nothing there.

"Jake must have been taking care of my house. It's okay, I'll just go buy some more. Maybe we'll all just go out..." As she muttered this to herself, she did a quick check and mental inventory of all the rooms. "Oh yeah, beds. I don't think I'll have enough blankets for everyone... I'll borrow some from Jake." She checked the cellphone again, and tried to turn on the lights, but nothing happened.

"Of course! It's Second Earth we're talking about. And you know what I'm curious about? Who exactly has read any of my books. Well, how many to be precise. Since it has been over three thousand years since I published them."

Ilandere let Izzy carry her. At any other time she would have thought it shameful to her status and brazenly refused but at this time she could barely utter a word of complaint out of sheer exhaustion. She gave in and listened to everyone speaking around her as Izzy carried her.

When they were finally at Lily’s house Ilandere sat against a wall and rested her head on her knees, falling asleep there.

"You guys go ahead. I'll stay here and...keep watch or something." Izzy shrugged. "I'm not to good with the techinal stuff. How about we all meet up later? You guys can tell us what's going on." Since she hadn't been to this territory, Izzy figured it would be best to stay put and let those who knew what they were doing handle the situation for the moment.
