Lumie frowned slightly, sensing Enki's sadness. She decided not to pry into it, and instead changed the subject back to his homeland. "Are there any dragons on Gaia?"

*Enki snickers a bit at this question*
Well, the general public aren't really aware of them, but yes. There is a place I go to where strong warriors go to train and tests themselves and there are a number of dragons located there. And my island is a sanctuary for a type of dragon as well.

"You mean leviathans?" she guessed wisely, beaming at her knowledge. So there was a reason why she saw one so close to the island while on the beach.
"Gaia sounds like a nice place. Maybe you can bring me with you when you go back!"

*Enki thinks about that for a moment. Judging from her ignorance of any outside worlds, especially Gaia, the biggest of them all, it almost seems her lack of knowledge is delibrate due to the people here. He figures he'd tlaking to some sort of higher authority to check on that one before he makes any final decisions*

"Ya~y!" Lumie cried cheerfully, taking his answer as a yes-answer, regardless of whether he would be actually allowed to take her off the island or not.
They arrived in the city of Presea, where Enki would likely get stares from the people going about their daily chores. Luminia took his hand and led him to the house she'd been staying at.
"Lady Silver is a very nice lady," Lumie began to explain. "She gave me a room to stay in when I first came here, and I have been helping her with the housework and stuff ever since. We're like sisters! Well, except that she's far older than me."

*Enki gently grasps her hand in his own, not looking at all of the people looking at him, some with scowls, some with bewildered faces, some with looks of curiosity and some with a look of knowing upon their faces. He just continues to look ahead, occasionally glancing at the young girl*
Well, I'm looking forward to meeting her

"Here we are!" Lumie said, not noticing Enki's apprehension. She raised her hand to knock on the door, but it opened before she could, and an elderly woman with silver hair and sharp blue eyes stood in the doorway, wearing a white knitted dress and wool socks.
"Who's this, Luminia?" Lady Silver asked in a sharp tone, which made the young gold flinch. She'd never heard Lady Silver use that tone before.
"This is my friend, Enki, Lady Silver. I met him on the beach. May he come in for some tea?"
The old silver drake narrowed her eyes on Enki, studying him for a moment, then stepped out of the doorway to allow them inside.

*Enki knew better then to just walk right on in. Before stepping into the house, he bows elegantly to the woman, his head lowered before her*

Lady Silver glanced outside after the two entered before shutting the door, locking it. She went about and closed the curtains so nobody could see inside.
"Lady Silver, what on earth are you doing?" Luminia asked.
"Lumie, go get the tea ready, please," she replied, dodging the question. "As for you, Mr. Enki, please have a seat. I would like a word with you for a moment."
She gestured to the livingroom, where there was a couch and a couple of cushioned chairs around an ornate crystal table. Lady Silver took a seat in one of the chairs, watching Enki. Luminia went into the kitchen to warm up the tea.

Lady Silver stared at him for a moment, perhaps speculating in her mind what kind of creature Enki could be. He certainly didn't seem to have any malice in him, if Luminia befriended him.
"What brings you to Angara, Enki?" she asked.

Truthfully? Curiosity. I thought I'd seen everything upon the water until I overheard leviathans speaking of this place

The room was filled with strange and old antiques and little trinkets of treasure, evidence of Lady Silver's prosperity; Magnificent oil paintings hung on the wall, crystal figurines sat on a shelf, next to a golden lantern and a jeweled egg; A Persian rug lay on the floor.
Luminia came back into the room, carrying a silver tray with a teapot and three cups. She laid a cup on the crystal table before Enki and Lady Silver, pouring tea for them and then herself, sitting in the couch next to Enki and listening to their conversation.
"You can understand leviathans? Interesting. They swim around the waters here often. We often tell our children not to go venturing beyond this island, because the leviathans will eat them, if the storm doesn't snap off their wings first. What is it that they spoke about?"

*Enki looks over to the girl and smiles softly with a "Thank you" before looking back to Lady Silver and nodding when she asks if he can understand leviathans. He then glares just a bit at her when she mentions the story they tell their children*
Yes, I can understand them. I have a sanctuary for them, due to the fact that rumors and stories had them almost gotten killed to extinction. They may be powerful creatures, but not against the guns and explosives of humanity... and all I heard them saying is there there was a massive continent inhabited by dragons. I was slightly shocked, not knowing of this massive continent and never having heard of one dwelled upon by dragons

"It is much the same reason why we of Angara have isolated ourselves," Lady Silver said. "If humans knew of this island, they would undoubtably come and try to conquer it with their guns and explosives. You will have to forgive some of us if we come off as being suspicious of you, being an outsider. However, Luminia seems to trust you, and she has a good sense in friends. Therefore, until you show me otherwise, I shall trust you as well."
