Orton settling in for a healthy reign

A few years ago, Randy Orton was what you call a transitional champion, beating Chris Benoit for the world title, only to lose the belt to Triple H just a month later.
Well, this time, things are different, as the youngest heavyweight champion in wrestling history is poised for a long-term run after the title was handed to him by Vince McMahon last Sunday. Orton's first defense will be at the Cyber Sunday pay-per-view against one of three candidates in a fan vote -- in all likelihood the returning Shawn Michaels. Once Orton gets by Michaels, it should be Triple H or a returning Chris Jericho in his way. Expect Orton to hold the title for the rest of 2007 and likely all the way to WrestleMania in April.

THE LATEST ON RKO's REIGN:
The plan right now is to keep Randy Orton and Triple H apart, as far as storylines go. WWE wants to possibly save the meeting for a big match at WrestleMania 24. As you know, plans can change at anytime.

I hope HBK gets picked, loses, and they make a match between Kennedy and Hardy for the IC title, which Kennedy wins. That'd be a nice PPV setup.

So any one of his suspensions and days off for his wedding isn't a break? HBK would make a good champ but there's no way Mcmahon is going to hand him the title after what happened backstage and the fact he's only been back for what, 2 weeks?

Batista shouldn't be in WM. Besides, if they were going to do that they should have done it soon after Evolution, not years later when both men were separated by brand.

the reason i wanna to see Randy/Batista is cause they've gotten into each other's faces at the last 3 WM's. i thought the "lack of" creative team was trying to start something there.

alright RKO faithful, we've made it over the first hump. the next test is Survivor Series, a PPV that Randy has done very well at. let the fans celebrate RKO and let's keep this train a rollin'
