A few hours later they were back at the caves. Rebecca was sleeping silently on her bed made of torn jackets and blankets. Charlie was holding Claire's hand as they laid on the ground, looking up at the few stars that they could see from where they were.
"Claire . . .I remember that . . .that i asked you a question . . about . .being father to your child . . .about . . .being with you." Charlie looked over at her. "Do you remember?" He asked.

Charlie smiled and suddenly flashes rushed into his mind. He remembered everythign now, except for a week period where everything was blank. "Claire . . .I remember everything." He said in shock.

He frowned. "I remember being by your side when you had Rebecca . . .but . . .I can't remember anything else." He got up suddenly. "I have to go to Jack . . ."

((I don't think it is))

Claire nodded and headed off into the caves to check on the baby.

Jack had come back to the caves, leaving Charlie alone with Claire. He decided that maybe Claire could get through to the young man. In the meantime, Jack bustled around, fixing this and organizing that, willing away the hours.

Jack looked up from where he had been working and met Charlie's gaze.

"Nothing much," Jack replied. "You?"

Something in the other man's demeanour had changed, Jack decided. He just wondered what it was. He was back to being more like the old, pre tragic Charlie.

Hurley walks along the shore, looking out to the sea. thinking of his former life.

Jack smiled wryly.

"Nah, there's nothing going on. I've just been kind of mindlessly milling about, trying to find some work to be done," he chuckled. "How about you, anything you need my help with?"
