"And you should have been prepared for this...maybe we could have prepared if you hadn't told me you were pregnant at the last minute"

Jay sighed and said "Well maybe you can put the clan issues aside for an hour or so and at least clear your mind for an hour" He said as he just scoffed at the last part, saying "Just found out...I have a feeling you wanted to tell me earlier, but just decided to let Aes break the news"

"An hour-" she gave a sarcastic smile despite herself "Look, I really did just find out, and the it was kind of hard to tell you during the fight. It's no like I was endangering the baby, and we all had too much to worry about." she stopped "I didn't want you to leave."

"I was disgusted" He said as he realized he had left the baby alone for about a minute. He made a quick few hand signals and quickly formed a doppleganger to take care of Illiana. "And I didn't want to be close to a woman who is so busy being a leader that she has no time to focus on being a wife"

"Well it's not being selfish if you tell me to stop" He said as he looked at her, a frown appearing on his face now. "I guess I've been pressured a lot too. I've got to make sure your needs are met and Illiana needs to be taken care of. But I wouldn't have done something so...." the word escaped him, so he shook his head and said "So there's your food. I guess you want your rest so I won't bother you any more"

"Yeah, yeah I guess so." she'd make a snack out of it or something, he was probably just too, well he probably didn't want to be around her right now, and she couldn't think of what to say to make it better.

A "I need you here" would have sufficed, but seeing that Pale didn't need him, he left her and dissapeared, reappearing as Jay in the kitchen, fixing Illiana's bib as he tried to feed her.

Seeing as she wasn't a mind reader, and was already in an emotionally vulnerable position, she broke down and started to cry. If she had taken a moment to breathe she would have gotten up, gotten some food and worked on the clans problems. But not able to be rational, she felt trapped.

Jay did know something was wrong though, and after trying to feed illiana and putting her to bed, he returned to his wifes bedroom and tried to hug her again, knowing she was in pain at the moment and hoping his consolation would help her

Sobbing, she tried to quiet herself, but he'd already heard her cry. Wiping her eyes, she just stayed there in a huddle.

Jay would hug her close and kiss her cheek, saying "Shh...it's okay" He nuzzled her and said "Everything will be okay...everything will be okay..."

She didn't really hear the last part of what he said. Giving up so muh energy to cry finally took the last out of her. Pale fell asleep, Jay still talking to her.

Jay saw that she had fallen asleep, and he ran a hand through her hair and decided to hold her until she woke up. He looked down to her sleeping form, wiping the tears away.
