Pokemon Limits for Classes. Good enough or should the number be higher?
It's good how it is, I don't really use that many Pokemon.
It needs to be a bit higher but you're on the right track.

Cody nodded, thanking the boy for the bikes and running outside. As they got onto the beach, the boy got a running start and hopped on the bike, using his momentum to coast through the sand and shallow water. Staryu followed closely behind as they cruised up the beach and into the city, looking back to make sure Allen wasn't too far behind. "How was your trip to Cerulean?" he asked, shouting back to the boy. "Sorry I had to bail out so quickly."

Allen chuckled, right behind Cody when he called back, "It was great, I got a Shellder!" He held up her Pokeball but didn't let her out considering she couldn't move too well on land. "And it's fine, it was a pretty simple mission anyhow." They went up a ramp leading into the city. It didn't take very long to end up at the path Allen had found last time he came up this way.

As he stepped off his bike, he pushed it up the slope, around the patch of very long grass and to the top to find the stone he and Brian had found last time.

"Sounds awesome, dude! I have Mira, so I guess I wouldn't really need another water type," Cody smiled over to his Staryu, who had proven to be much tougher than he originally anticipated. "Unless you guys saw Feebas there, cuz I'd love a Milotic." As they hopped off their bikes, Cody looked around, noticing a lot of wild pokemon in the area. He pointed to a group of Absol standing on a cliff, gazing at the moon. "What a sight!" he gawked, nudging Allen and pointing at the pokemon. "What gorgeous Absol! I wish I had a camera!"

Allen, look up on the cliff, "Oh wow, yeah They look so majestic up there..." He stared for a bit longer before he heard a call from behind them.
"Hey! You're that punk we saw break the stone!!"

"Wh-?" Allen spun around, looking to this duo of Ruin Maniacs.

"Don't you dare deny it! We have pictures!"

"What are you accusing me of?" The ruin maniacs dramatically pointed at the crushed stone at the top of the ledge that he'd broke last time to keep himself on track.

"You DEMOLISHED an over ten THOUSAND year treasure!!! It depicted an Pokemon and cave in these parts, and is thought to lead the path to the cave of ancient Pokemon!!" He prattled on about certain things Allen had read about, but the Aquan was dumbstruck. He'd destroyed something so precious. Something he'd been searching for almost since he'd joined this gang...
"I-I didn't..."

"Oh, you didn't mean too, I bet." He laughed sarcastically, "You bullies are all alike. Trying to take us down for actually having interests!!"

"No, you don't understand! I've been looking for these ruins too!!" Allen tried to appeal to the Maniacs, but they weren't having it.

"Yeah right! We'll show you! We'll show you not to mess with us!!" They pulled pokeballs out of their bags.

They each have two fossil Pokemon and one random non-fossil that has a Pokedex entry tied to the past.

Cody instinctively pulled a pokeball from his waist as the two Ruin Maniacs threw theirs in his direction. As the pokeball exploded and his foe appeared, Cody tucked the ball back into his belt and called upon Mira. The Ruin Maniac seemed nervous as he watched Mira appear from behind the trainer to face his Bastiodon. The enemy trainer shot a finger in their direction and shouted to his pokemon, "Bastiodon, start this thing off right!" The pokemon lowered its head and sprinted toward Mira, connecting for a Critical Hit with Iron Head. Mira flew into the air, but quickly regained her bearings as she shot back a burst of water in the foe's direction. "Nice Hydro Pump!" Cody shouted, not expecting her to be able to pull off such a great move quite yet. Bastiodon shrieked in pain, but returned in full force with an AncientPower. Fortunately, Mira was able to blast away most of the giant rocks, but still took the brute of the attack, and was knocked to the ground - down, but not out. "Mira, Brine!" Cody shouted, hoping for a last-ditch effort. Mira's gem exploded with steaming water, smashing into Bastiodon like a tidal wave, K.O.ing the Steel Type.

"This isn't over!" the Ruin Maniac shouted, pulling another ball from his waist. "These ruins aren't gonna be taken over by the likes of you jerks!"
Cody shook his head, disappointed in the trainer's ability. "I don't think you guys fully understand what's going on," he commented, thanking his Staryu for a great fight and returning her to her ball for a rest. The Ruin Maniac sent out his next pokemon, a Cradily. Cody thought hard about his next pokemon choice, but had to cut his thinking time short as the Maniac ordered Cradily to start attacking him. "Axew, help!" the boy shouted, throwing the baby dragon's pokeball in the air. As the dragon popped from his ball, Cody shouted again, "Incinerate! Quick!" Axew quickly focused in on the vines headed toward his trainer and set them ablaze with a vicious fire attack, hurting Cradily a little as well. The fossil pokemon turned its attention to the Axew and shot an Energy Ball in its direction. The little monster jumped out of the way just in time and fired a Dragon Pulse toward the Cradily, doing normal damage. The fossil pokemon dug its roots deep into the ground, sucking life from the earth around it, but Axew quickly uprooted it with a powerful Earthquake, shaking up the Cradily quite a bit. It built up another Energy Ball, this one much bigger than the last, and fired it with incredible speed at Axew. The attack was undodgeable and sent the baby dragon flying as it exploded in his face. Axew struggled to his feet and ran at the Cradily with what little energy it had left, dodging and jumping over any attacks the fossil pokemon sent his way. Axew's fist was surging with dark energy, and with a final leap, he connected a strong Payback with the Cradily, doubling the damage from the attack he had just taken. Cradily writhed in pain. It was obviously a Critical Hit. The pokemon withered to nothing as it fainted before them. Both trainers returned their pokemon and prepared for their next fight.

The Ruin Maniac's final pokemon was a Relicanth. "A beast from the past!" the boy shouted, cackling maniacally. "This is my pride and joy! This is where it all ends!"
"A Water Type?" Cody asked sarcastically before sending out Sparks. "C'mon, little lady! Let's show him the true power of an electric type!"
The Ruin Maniac just laughed, shaking his head. "You're in for a surprise."
Sparks started off with a powerful jet of electricity, charging the static in her cheeks before firing it off at Relicanth. The water type quickly manuvered out of the way and brought itself to zen using Calm Mind. This improved its special attack and defense. Sparks shot another bolt of electricity, but again, it was dodged. Relicanth started moving back and forth quickly, calling upon the clouds to precipitate, raising the power of its water-based attacks. "Sparks, Iron Tail!" Cody called, realizing an electric attack seemed pointless. The Pikachu nodded, rushing at Relicanth with amazing speed, and threw her weight into her back end as she whipped her tail around to make contact. At the last second, Relicanth surrounded itself with a protective barrier, negating the damage, and quickly summoned an Ancient Power attack, hitting Sparks hard at close range for a Critical Hit. Between Critical damage, STAB boosts, and Calm Mind, it was enough to knock the little Pikachu flat on her back for an OHKO.

Cody took his last pokeball from his belt, tossing it in the air, and hoping it would be enough. This Ruin Maniac was the hardest foe he had faced since starting Aqua, and he wasn't sure if he was prepared for such a fight. "You're looking pretty down and out, trainer," the Ruin Maniac mocked. "Why don't you give up and leave now before I have to finish humilliating you in front of your friend?"
Cody looked to Poochy, his starting companion, one of his best friends since becoming an Aquan, and realized he had this battle in the bag. The boy raised his head and beamed at his foe. Clenching a fist, he felt a smirk come across his face as he replied. "Don't count your Pidgey's before they hatch, Yugi-boy." The Ruin Maniac looked confused, obviously not getting the reference, but it didn't matter. "Poochy, let's go get 'em! Swagger!"
Poochyena danced around, confusing the Relicanth, but boosting its attack power.
"Relicanth! Snap out of it! Attack!" the ruin maniac commanded, catching on to Cody's antics. The pokemon rushed at Poochyena for a Headbutt and missed, its confusion mistaking Poochyena for a boulder. The hard-headed pokemon crashed into the rock, hurting itself badly. Poochy followed up with an Iron Tail, crashing down on Relicanth hard for 2x damage. The foe powered though and followed up with a Hydro Pump, firing in Poochy's direction. Again it missed, ricocheting off a tree trunk and shooting into the sky where it dissipated into nothing more than a mere shower. Poochy attacked again, bringing Relicanth to the ground, KOing it almost instantly.

The Ruin Maniac dropped to his knees over the Relicanth. He looked to his pokemon, then to Cody. With tears in his eyes, he reached in his bag and pulled out a fossil, tossing it at the boy's feet. "Just take it... Don't hurt me, please! Just take it!" the boy cried in fear as he returned his pokemon. Cody reached down and picked up the fossil, brushing off the mud and dust. As he looked up, the Ruin maniac was already on his feet, grabbing his friend, and high-tailing it out of there. Cody returned Poochyena and sat on the ground, staring at the fossil, deep in thought as he waited for Allen.

Allen tried to explain but was cut off, "Your apologies fall on deaf ears, Go Aerodactyl!!" He tossed the flying fossil Pokemon high into the air, it's powerful wings flapped, holding itself above the ground with ease.

"I guess. Go Froakie!" Allen called out his small from Pokemon. At least he'd have an advantage. The Ruin Maniac called for a Rock Slide. The Fossil Pokemon slammed into the ground, sending large boulders flying at the small frog. He easily dodged the first few rock but one of the last few slammed into his leg, 'causing a lot of damage to the little fella. "Froakie! Water Pulse!" The little frog shot a blast of water, hitting the large flying beast in the face. The water hitting it's eyes and effectively confusing it. The Ruin Maniac called for a Wing Attack. The large Pokemon swooped down from it's aerial position, however, I wobbled and slammed hard into the ground, effectively hurting itself. "Froakie, Water Pulse again!" He nodded, jumping high into the air and blasting cold water into the Fossil Pokemon. It actually bounced from the ground a little before being KOed.

"No! No no no no noooo!!" The Ruin Maniac quickly withdrew his fainted Pokemon and tossed his next one. "GO AURORUS!!" He called out the giant Ice type. Allen recognized it as one of the fossil Pokemon prominent in the Kalos Region, and he knew a lot about it. He kept Froakie out, having a strategy, but not sure if it was a good one. "Fraokie! Power-Up Punch." Froakie, raced toward his new opponent, folding it's little fist in and punching Arurous in the chest and even though the attack was super effective it did little damage due Froakie's low attack. The Ruin Maniac called for a Thunder Wave, effectively paralyzing Froakie and making it easier to hit. "Oh no..." Allen realized what was coming. The Ruin Maniac quickly called again for the move Freeze-Dry. The ice attack hitting Froakie for super effective damage. Easily taking him out. Allen quickly returned his fainted Pokemon.

"Go Heacross." As much as he wanted to get his other Pokemon trained, this battle seemed like it was going to be very difficult without using Heracross. "Brick Break!" Heracross quickly chopped about the neck of Aurorus, easily taking it out.

Furious, now, sent out his last Pokemon, a Bronzong. Allen, breathed in, trying to think ahead. There wasn't much Heracross could do to set up... "Heracross, Night Slash!" The Singlehorn Pokemon flew in quickly, pouring Dark type energy into it's claws and slashing across the Pokemon's face. It did super effective damage, but wasn't near enough to really hurt it. Bronzong's eyes lit up a deep blue and Heracross went down quickly from Psychic. Allen flinched away, quickly withdrawing his Pokemon. "Sorry..." He muttered, pulling another Pokeball from his belt. "Go Shuppet!" He hopped the little ghost would be able to pull her weight. "Shadow Sneak!" he called, the little Ghost type's shadow shooting across doing a small chunk of super effective damage to Bronzong. The foe spun around, firing another shot of Psychic energy, hitting Shuppet. "Shuppet, Will-o-Wisp!" He called out, little blue and purple orbs of fire appearing around Shuppet at different intensities. The hot balls of energy, shot from her little body, smashing into Bronzong harshly burning it. The Maniac called for Metal Sound. It smacked it's arms against it's body and began scraping metal against metal, causing a terribly screeching sound that lowered Shuppet's Special Defense harshly. Allen knew an attack was coming after that. "Shuppet, quickly, Sucker Punch!" He called for his little Pokemon to attack before the opponent. Luckily, his assumption was right. She swooped in, actually knocking the Bronzong backwards with it's super effective damage. "Bronzong! Give another Psychic!" The Maniac practically screamed at his Pokemon. Shuppet, attempted to resist for only a moment before being slammed into a boulder and falling to the ground, fainted.

Allen's eyebrows dropped low, He sighed and sent out Seviper, his last idea was to go all out with a Dark Type attack. He wouldn't stand much chance if this didn't work out. "Seviper, Night Slash, make it matter!" Seviper slithered across the battle field, practically appearing before the Bronzong and and slashing across the foe with Dark force. the large clunky Steel type floated for a moment longer before slamming into the ground with a loud metallic clang. Enraged and frustrated, the Ruin Maniac screeched, pulling at his face. "NNNNOOOO!!!" He reached into his bag, pulling out a heavy looking rock and tossing it directly at Allen's head, who's eyes went wide. He barely had time enough to duck before the fossil zoomed over his head with a heavy thunk on the ground behind him. When he looked back to the Ruin Maniac, the man was gone, must have taken off after his buddy.

He was sure they would have another run in... He examined the rock thrown, quickly stashing it away in his bag.

Cody looked up from the fossil he held in his hands as Allen approached, obviously weary from his battle. "How was it?" the boy asked, empathetic to the look on his face. He patted the ground next to him, telling his friend, "take a seat. We've got time."
Cody thought back to what the Ruin Maniac had said as he ran away. The tears of fear in his eyes as he threw the tablet, almost worshippingly, at the boy's feet. "Ever think what we're doing is wrong?" Cody asked, not really expecting Allen to agree.
PostPosted: Fri Dec 20, 2013 11:22 pm

Allen nodded... taking the offer for a seat, he needed it. He remained silent to the other boy's question, he couldn't answer, it's not like anything would change even if he thought they were in the wrong. Not just the two of them, but Aqua, Archie. He shuddered, simply answering, "I don't know..." He folded up, pulling his knees into his chest. It hurt to consider they were in the wrong, but it didn't feel right to say they were doing the right thing. "That was my fault, by the way..." He mentioned offhandedly. "I had Heracross break the rock so that I would know I was on the right path when I came back in search of these ruins, this... Cave." He heaved a long sigh, "Sorry."

Cody felt himself almost doing the same - pulling his knees closer to himself, feeling his gaze fall deeper into the fossil as he fell into the depths of his thoughts. He shook off Allen's apology. "No need to apologize. I'm not worried about that," the boy chuckled, trying to keep things light-hearted, if only for a moment "But you didn't see the way that guy was afraid of me when I beat him. The way he threw things at my feet, almost as an offering so I wouldn't pound him into the dirt and take everything he had." The thought sent a shiver through Cody once more. "Is that really what we signed up for? To be a bunch of bullies? Or is there something more?"
PostPosted: Sat Dec 21, 2013 12:20 am

Allen swallowed and cleared his throat, about to answer that they deserved the respect, that thet worked for it, that he himself started from practically nothing, even back in Kalos. But then... he was given everything when he got to Aqua. His answer stuck in his throat. "Thinking back... A few trainers, especially that guy... He seemed like a cornered Raticate. Baring it's fangs in an attempt to escape..." His mouth pulled to the side and he chewed on his inner cheek mulling over the information. He sighed heavily, looking up to cliff edge where the Absol had previously been. Only a few remained, but they seemed to be interested more in their surroundings than the moon this time.

Cody looked to Allen almost in awe. Everything about the boy read completely different from his opinion, from his body language to the tone of his voice. Or maybe he was just losing his touch on reading people. Shaking it off, Cody nodded, considering the other side of things. "Maybe you're right," he shrugged. "Maybe they deserved what was coming to them, along with everyone else." He definitely didn't believe in what he was saying, but it was worth a shot to at least understand it.
PostPosted: Sat Dec 21, 2013 12:38 am

Allen looked toward Cody, "See, a cornered Pokemon is dangerous. But it's not the Pokemon's fault." He smiled like it were some kind of poor joke that Cody missed his point, "A cornered Pokemon is scared. Only fighting back because it seems that's the only chance for survival... Maybe I'm reading too much into it though. I mean, the one guy was already really angry about the boulder." Surely it wasn't like that with everyone who came up against, like what happened with Cody's opponent tonight. The poor man begged him, offered a token of peace for no further beatings so to speak.

"I see where you're coming from," Cody replied with a sigh. "I still don't like it." He tossed a pokeball in the air a couple times, thinking of everything they'd done. He looked around the area, still not 100 percent sure what they came for. "So, these ruins," he started, deciding now was about as good of a time as any to change the topic. "What are we looking for? And more importantly, how do we get in?" His eyes lit up at the question, imaging a room filled with hieroglyphics and treasure.
PostPosted: Sat Dec 21, 2013 12:52 am

Allen chuckled at the childish reaction, clear on the boy's face even in the dark. He nodded, putting the thoughts behind him for the time being and moving on. "Well, to be able to actually find the stones that mark the pathway easier in the day time. Not to mention, our Pokemon need cared for right now." He motioned to the discarded Aqua Bike DXs on the ground just at the top of the hill. "I think it'd be best to get back to the base and get some rest." He lifted them up and pushed one towards Cody, "This place has been here for thousands of years, I don't think it'll disappear tonight."

"Fair enough," Cody sighed, looking down at his belt. He knew his pokemon were in no shape to fight off another group of troublemakers, and if they ran into some tough pokemon, he wanted his team to be ready! He walked over and picked his bike up off the ground, dusting off the seat before taking off down the hill, his mind infatuated by the thought of riches and ruins as the two friends rode through the night back to base.
