Even if Lark wasn't soothed by Sheryl's words her presence helped even through she was still guilt ridden about Devon's condition because if she hadn't been used against Devon the way she had his shoulder might not have got bitten into so badly right now she just needed to see that he was okay and not out their hurting because she laughed and set him off

It wasn't long before Devon returned along with Len and Fredrick. Len was looking rather glum, Fredrick winded and amused, and Devon just worried. Devon looked her over and asked, "Alright Lark. Why are you sorry?" He said it gently. He had hear Len's side, but wanted hers. Sheryl moved aside.

Lark sniffed a bit relieved to see him okay but she could help but wonder if he was in any pain from his shoulder still wiping her eyes she told him. "For laughing at you and making you mad at Fredrick but I really wanted to hear those stories and I'm sorry about your injuries you won't have gotten them if you weren't distracted by me and you going after Fredrick might have made them worse i'm sorry." Lark said sniffing her tears still falling

Devon sighed and touched Sheryl's shoulder. "Can I had a moment alone?" he asked. "You know you don't have to ask. Alright boys! Out. Len we need totalk about a think called tact...." she said as she ushered then out. Devon sat down and took Lark's hand. "Lark." he started gently. "I'm not mad you laughed at me. I was embarrassed and a little annoyed with Fred. All we did was run and he out did me this time." He was still panting a bit, so he paused. "I'm glad you want to know about me, I'd like to get to know you just as much." He squeezed her hand. "I'll admit. My shoulder hurts, but it's something I can handle. And it is ABSOLUTELY not your fault. That rogue Blake was dead set on fighting me, whether you were captured or not." Done he sat back and waited for her protests.

Lark sniffed again squeezing Devon's hand."Still I was wrong to ask Fred I should have asked you instead but I was scared you would never have told me something like losing a very silly bet or a bad hair day i'm sorry." Lark apologized yet again "But why you have to lie to me about your injury I mean if you would lie to me about that what else have you not been fully truthful about don't you trust me?" she asked fixing him with her big sad strawberry brown eyes

Devon sighed. He brought Lark's cool hand up to kiss it lightly. "I would never lie to you about something important. And if you forced me I couldn't help but spill my guts to you. I hid this because I didn't want you to worry. It wasn't because I don't trust you." he said. "I love you too much to add to your burdens. You take so much more than necessary, My Lark."

The idea that Lark could make someone like Devon do anything he wanted was laughable because she knew once Devon set his mind on something he stuck to it and no matter how much she asked he wouldn't budge like when she told him to find somewhere most comfortable to sleep and he got stubborn and went to sleep with his head and shoulders into what must have been and uncomfortable position at her side and he went to sleep. "I can't make you king of werewolves do anything you don't want to do like last night I suggested you go home for a better rest and what to you do you go to sleep at the foot of the bed so no I can't force you to spill your guts about anything you didn't want me to know and I love you too but I don't take on any burden's that aren't rightfully mine and yes they are more than anyone should have to bare but I have to bare them."

Devon's face hardened. "Any other night I might have done as you asked. But last night..." he shuddered. "I couldn't. I just...." He shook his head and looked at her. "You don't have to bare them Lark. The rogues attack wasn't your fault. The battle wasn't your fault. Any injuries are not your fault. That is MY responsibility. And something that was done. That burden can be thrown away. And any other full of "should's" and "could's" and "if only's". Promise me, Lark. Promise me your won't hang on to those." he said fervently.

Lark sighed knowing Devon had just proved her point about her not making him do anything he wasn't willing to do on his own. She wanted to argue the point about what was her burden and wasn't her burden to bare but Devon's fervency and the look in his eyes stopped her. "Alright I promise." she agreed she suddenly felt very tired and it showed

Devon noticed. He sagged a little himself, flinching at the motion irritated his shoulder. "You should rest. I'll see you soon." he said and rose so he could kiss her lightly.

Lark sighed in exhaustion easing her self down on the pillows carefully as her body started to wine itself down for a good sleep. "alright but promise you'll be back." she told him as she went into a deep sleep

"I promise." he said. He stood wearily and turned to head out the door. He had a few things to straighten out before he rested himself. Len's big mouth for one. Then again, Sheryl could probably take care of her husband. Devon decided to put the nap first.

Lark slept until late that night her body having been though more stress that it could handle at the time due to the fact it was recovering from death basically and still healing she was out like a light that nothing could have woken her up not even the nurses gossiping about her and Devon's relationship due to the fact Devon was the towns most desired bachelor

Devon lopped up the the hospital on silent feet. Stalking would be so much easier in wolf form, but you couldn't climb a wall with paws. Plus white showed up easily sometimes. He ran around the side of the building, ducking out of sight of any cameras and timing the guards path carefully. All this he was finding rather fun. Like old times. Finding her window wasn't too difficult. After a guard went by he began the meticulous task of scaling the wall one handed.
After a time he was finally in, panting from him efforts.

Lark was just begin to wake up to the sound of something or more precise someone breathing heavily or panting would be a better word for it maybe it was the guard dog that liked to wander around. With a small moan she opened her eyes slowly and she almost screamed it wasn't a dog it was a werewolf and due to the fact that she can't see in the dark all she saw was the large looming shadow her mind went immediately back to Robin and her abuse and she began to whimper trying to stay still not realizing it was Devon not a rogue standing above her
