Bandora had not seen Angel's attack and was indeed sent flying. Bandora laughed as she fixed herself but soon screamed with rage when she saw that Van had gotten away. "Curse you little pest! I'll deal with you another day!" she yelled as she went to find Van.
Her body was hurt, but she still shot explosive crescents as she left the dwarf civilization. She was going to seek revenge when she got her new godly powers.

Ceri was finally brought back to earth when Alek put his arm around her. She choked out, "Whats...What do you mean, steal your place as a god?" She was looking wide eyed at Van.

"What you haven't heard?" Van said, surprised that she either hadn't heard the rumors or been updated on his status. "Well, first off I'm technically the standing god of thievery. I say technically because I do hold the position in question, I just refuse to stay up in the realm of the gods because everyone else up there is an a*****e, Atius in particular. As for the whole 'steal my place' thing, for reasons I have yet to figure out, the gods are kinda having a power outage right now....We still have our power, but it's starting to weaken. Nuts like her have started to pop up hoping to become gods themselves through all sorts of crazy ways."

Mala nodded. "Very well. I'd be more useful using my barriers to help Van and Riley out than actually getting involved in this fight." she said to Angel.

Ceri stood there, her jaw slack. She then closed her mouth and said under her breath, "Lot of good I do around here..." She bit her lip. "Okay, I understand now. Let's go before she comes back."

Angel glared. "You. On my back." She pointed at Mala, spreading her wings to allow this arrangement, and then she picked up Riley. "Brother dearest, moving fast?"
Alek nodded, picking up both Ceri and Rincewind, throwing the latter over his shoulder carelessly and holding the former carefully, sprinting at full speed after his sister, knowing Angel would be right behind. They were there in a few moments and he dumped Rincewind, then sat with Ceri on his lap.
"Man," Val murmured softly. "Things have gotten screwed up since I last got out."
((For the record, Van was nowhere near Ceri when she talked to him.))

Mala did as was told, lamenting the idea of encountering that woman again. However, knowing how things normally happen in these sorts of places, Mala was pretty damn positive that this wasn't the last of that woman. She could wait to just be alone with Van in a calm and quiet enviornment.

Within moments Angel was by her brother, and gently set Riley on his feet and, when Mala was off her back, she held Mala's hand. She was quiet again, thinking.

Ceri slid out of Alek's lap. She sat with her head on her knees, her knees near her chest, trying to take deep breaths. I froze...Why did I freeze?! I've never frozen up before....Why now? Right when I needed to prove myself, and I failed. I utterly failed. She brought her knees closer to her chest.

"Ceri." Alek moved down to her, arm around her. "What's wrong?"

Mala walked over to Van and offered him a smile. She reached over to grab his hand once more with her free one, silently wondering what should be done to help restore the gods' power. She would do almost anything she could to help Van get his powers back to their full potential. As for the rest of the gods? ...Not so much.

Ceri shook her head. "I failed." Who knew two words were so profound, so utterly demolishing. She could feel hot tears rolling down her face. She didn't look at Alek.

"No, you didn't," Alek whispered, kissing her softly. "You did excellent. Your continued life is proof of it."

Ceri said, "I did nothing, Alek. I froze. I'm a mage of the White Order...I am the protector of life...and I didn't do anything...." She turned her face away from him, and scooted out of his touch.
