Coyte slipped out of the stained, white chef's apron and hung it on the little peg he'd stolen it from. It was amazing how easilly he could slip in and out of the notice of these peoples. They didn't even notice that there was someone else in the kitchen.

Oh, he could have done lots of things, he could have poisoned the food but then interesting people wouldn't be around to entertain him. He bounced and ran happy fingers through his hair. Mischief, mischief, mischief! He'd set a little bit of a fire, moved several gallons of ice cream into the oven. He loved that pubs like this one seemed so stocked with food even when most just ordered beer.

He took a step out into the bar and stopped, standing still and glaring through his eyebrow around him. That scent... The little hairs on the back of his neck started to stand on end and he fought back a territorial growl. Someone here....someone was like him. Canine, but at the smae time, different from im. Dark, musky, mysterious...

He glared about the bar, finding no one that immediately stod out as the one that was another. He kept his shoulders hunched, his nose down, scenting the people around him. Finally, the man at the bar...some sort of scent, he wasn't sure what but it made him unhappy and it ruined his fun! He glared at the back of his head for a moment and finally took a deep breath, letting it go. He smoothed down the silk shirt and slipped his hands casually in his pockets. He chose the bar stool a bit away from the other man and gave him his most disarming smile. "Hi, I'm Derek Blige. What's your name?"

Kio smelled something... different. Not fox, for sure, so it wasn't someone from his family following him. He turned his head ever so slightly in the direction he thought the smell came from and his eyes locked on a man. He scowled and turned back to the counter, pretending he had only been checking the time - the clock fortunately being above the man's head. He looked up briefly as the man spoke to him - yes... he was the sorce of the smell - and his scowl depeaned. "Kio," he said shortly. "Kio Mori."

Oh, cold shoulder. Fun. Coyote laughed a little in his mind, well, he may have another b***h in his territory but it might be fun to chase. He smiled down at him, finding himself much taller than him even with the man sitting in a tall barstool. He guessed that he'd be no more than 5'4"-5'5" and his reddish hair was a lighter version of his own.

"You're a cold one, all I did was say hello." Coyote was getting excited and he scratched at the edge of his eyebrow, ruffling the thick black hairs. It was a tick he'd developed some years ago and hadn't cared enough about to change. He could still appear human and scratch at imagined fleas all at once. He was just that damned talented.

"What's wrong, darlin'? Got someone following you?" He asked, taking on a slight accent that he'd found made people feel more complacent around him. Something about a slow southern drawl made people think you were too stupid to fool them. Silly reasoning.

Kio's brown eyes flashed back in the man's direction and he rotated his face a fraction towards the other in order to get a better look at him. The frown was still wrinkling his forehead and his eyes were narrowed in suspicion. The suspicion didn't ease with the accent, either, but only annoyed him further. He shook his head at the question. "No, if someone was following me I wouldn't be stupid enough to come to a place like [i[this," he said, contempt clear in his tone. He obviously didn't find this bar to be any good - it was smoky and there were too many old men, or at least older men, in it for him to feel comfortable. Not to mention the women, who annoyed the hell out of him.

Liao shrugged. "We'll have to see, won't we? Here..." THey had rounded a corner and there was a circular bed of flowers in the center where several paths met. There was a statue in the middle, but it was difficult to make out what it was due to the thorny climbers that had wound around it. There were many blooms on the bushes, all of them roses, and the scent filled the garden with the many variations of rose perfumes.
((Uwa. You can tell I like roses, no? First Rosaline and now this... xD))
"Hm well, little bastards seemed to make it through all right," Wei murmured lightly with a wicked grin, taking a step backwards the admire the array of bloomed roses. He wasn't much fond of flowers, especially the colored ones, but he figured this was a pretty scene- as if it were something made for romantically obsessed couples or something of that sort and manner. Green eyes flickered around the site, curious as to what statue was hidden behind the layers of thorns and vines from past years, the dark haired man took a few steps forward, leaning inward to examine the stone sculpture more closely. "Hm, wonder what's under all this," he said, taking a moment to untangle some of the old vines but quickly jerked his hand back.

"There's thorns still, incase you were wondering," he said with a heavy sigh, glancing at his now bleeding fingertips. "Just wonderful."

Shin looked up. "Hmm? What would you like to find?" he asked curiously. He had finished his soup - he was a quick eater - and he now wiped his mouth with the corner of his napkin after setting his spoon down in his empty bowl. He wondered what sort of thing Haro might want in a mall - did the boy even know what malls had?
Haro didn't answer for quite some time, stuffing a spoonful of nearly untouched soup down his throat as if to give reason as to why he hadn't answered. After a few successful swallows, Hao looked off to the side, averting his eyes carefully. "Just...something to help me sleep better," he mumbled quietly, golden amber eyes flickering back to focus on his bowl of soup.

Liao shrugged. "Roses always have thorns, even when there's no blooms. But the dark red ones have the worst - they're huge," he said, pointing to a patch of the velvety dark red that filled the air with a heavy, wild scent. The thorns were indeed large and hooked, the tips naturally brown, but it made it look rather more as if many people had stabbed their fingers on the thorns and the brown was dried blood rather than naturally occuring.

"You mean sleeping pills or Tylenol? We have Tylenol here... It helps sleep - it's what I gave you earlier when you were sick - but is mostly for releiving pain from sickness..." he said with a bit of a shrug. He stood up and took his bowl to the kitchen, which was only separated by a counter, and washed his dishes before setting them to dry.

"Roses are creepy," Wei announced with a frown before he stuck his pricked fingers into his mouth, specks of blood washing away easily. "They really do symbolize love though," he said with a grin, wiping his hand off gingerly, green eyes shaded as he lowered his head slightly. "They're pretty and all nice and right when you let your guard don't they claw ya. Not my kind of relationship," he murmured, lifting his head with a frown. He wasn't nearly as tired as he had been this morning...and- Looking around suspiciously, Wei mused to himself that there was a very potent smell of cat that stuck out from the pleasant, nealy overpowering smell of roses. Where the hell-?

Green eyes narrowed slightly as they fell on Liao. "Well, that's nice to know. I'll just make sure to never touch another rose," he said with a sigh, taking a moment to look behind him. Ah, a bench. Wonderful. Sitting down, the dark haired young man looked up, counting off on his fingers, "So, you don't like cars and you like flowers and music. Anything else you'd like to add to my list?"

---

Haro shook his head, hair swishing around his face slightly, "Mn...just- not like that," he murmured, looking down, picking up his still half full bowl carefully, golden yellow eyes catching the floor. "Can...we...go soon?" He asked before placing his spoon between his teeth.

He frowned and shrugged. "I like cooking... and I don't like... big animals..." he said, shuddering slightly. 'Especially not dogs,' but he didn't say that allowed. The man had already smelled him - although he didn't know Liao was the cat - and he didn't want to make him any more suspicious. Now that he thought of it, why was Wei able to smell him? People generally weren't able to pick up on the scent of cat. What if Wei were a... dog? But he didn't smell like one... Liao frowned and went to sit down next to the other. "What about you? What do you like and not like?"

**

"Sure... Are you finished with your food? Once everything's cleaned up, we can go," he said with a smile. He reentered the dining room and leaned back against the counter as he waited for the boy to finish.

Wei looked incredibly thoughtful for a moment or so, but the expression was gone quickly and his silly smile soon replaced it. "Hn, let's see," he murmured, folding his hands in his lap, leaning his elbows on the top of his knees. "I don't like birds too much, they just piss me off. I guess they can be okay but they're...constant chattering can annoy me. What else? I don't like...hm, I think that's it. Oh, and now officially roses," he said, looking down with a slight smirk, "I like..." Biting his lower lip, fingers fiddling with one of his piercings in his ear, the young man turned his gaze back on Liao. "I like a lot of things."

That was a good enough answer, wasn't it? He thought so, at least.

-----

Glancing down into his bowl, Haro shrugged slightly, attempting to answer Shin but th only thing that came out was a muffle, garbled mess. Spitting out the spoon in his bowl, the light eyed teen murmured with a near laugh that he was done.

"Do...can I do anything?" He asked, looking around the already tidy kitchen, setting his bowl on the counter for a moment.

Birds... Birds could be annoying, but he didn't mind them all that much. They were generally food, but he didn't feel anything particular towards that race. He laughed slightly. "I suppose I shouldn't have made you come with me here, then, where you're surrounded by what you don't like." He gestured over at the roses and then up at the tree, where several birds were twittering away. He frowned slightly. "But what kind of things do you like?" he reitterated.

**

"MMm... I suppose you could put any leftover soup from your bowl into that container," he gestured to a container that had the rest of the soup in it. "And then put that in the refridgerator and I'll wash your dish."
PostPosted: Fri Jun 23, 2006 4:53 pm

Waving off the boy's comment, Wei shook his head, "I only dislike certain kinds of birds. Eh, I guess just my old neighbor's birds. Annoying little pests," he murmured with a faint smirk, turning his green eyes upward to look at the many birds that inhabited the park.

Leaning back, the tanned man continued, "Well, I like cars and motorcycles...and...curry," he said with a lick to his lips. "I like dancing, hm, I like girls, too," he murmured with a laugh, standing up quickly and leaned against a stone wall of sorts encasing the rose display, muttering that boys weren't that bad either.

----

Skipping off to do just that, Haro poured nearly all of what had been originally given to him back into the leftover container. Placing the lid back onto it, the slender teen picked up the large, lidded bowl carefully with wide eyes as he placed it into the fridge with a bit of difficulty.

He shrugged. None of his neighbors had birds - or, at least, none he knew of. They might have a hudred and he wouldn't know because he'd never actually been into any of their houses. Once, when he was little, he had tried to catch birds wuite a lot. When he finally succeeded, he found they didn't taste nearly as good as the ones the cook made and the feathers, which had stuck all over his face, were quite annoying. "Curry... I could make that, later, if you have the ingridiants."

((Ah... I can imagine a five-year-old Liao crouching with a dead bird in his mouth and feathers all over his face and hands (in his human form xD).))

**

He took Haro's dishes and washed them, waiting for the boy. "Right... Haro, do you have shoes?" he asked, wondering if he would have to buy Haro a pair of those, as well.

Coyote laughed inwardly and a slow smile split his face, revealing straight white teeth. He liked this guy, he was too easy, he dropped the accent. "If someone was following you, a public place seems one of the best. There aren't many things a man can do to another in front of several dozen witnesses without being spotted."

Coyote leaned forward to whisper away from the ears of the bar tender near by. "I know what you are, you're musking up my territory." When you were facing such an obviously jaded fellow, there was no use mincing words. "So, not running, obviously not meeting anyone here, you don't exactly enjoy the place...why the hell are you here?"
