Looking up, Nometal finally snapped out of it, and said, "Huh? Why would I not be all...oh yeah from that headbutt. What all happened? There was more people here before I was out, and now..." Getting up after takin Aran's hands to help him up.

Aran took the hand, and helped him up. "Ya see, some of the others have already left to go and return those who have been corrupted. As far as I know, some went after Tibarn and Rei, and then after a while a Soldier said that the corrupted guard was attacking the countryside, Abel leading them." He paused, then continued on.
"So Alihi, Ganon, Chad, Ephraim and Blossom as well as some of the constabulary headed out to stop them. Right now Me, You, Renault, Bartre and Nino are still here." He was about to continue when he heard a loud cry throughout the mansion.

"Hmm.. It could've been either Amara or Vah. Hopefully everything is okay up there.." He said while gesturing towards the stairs. "Maybe we should check it out?"

"All right lets go do that." Heading for the stairs. "If something goes bad though, we have range on our side correct?"

"Yeah, we have range on our side. I have a Javelin on me just in case. Bartre and Renault are here too in case we falter" And with that, Aran headed upstairs with Nometal following him.
(Gotta go, Aran can be NPC if you'd like.)

Lyre started, hearing a splitting cry coming from a room just a few doors down. The laguz girl had actually been recording things down in a journal of sorts, different letters addressed to... well, people that were back home in Gallia, if there ever came a way for her to send them, or if more of her people happened to come through the door like she did. King Caineghis had probably given up on getting that coat of his back from the cleaners... or maybe Kyza had picked the job up and done what she had been supposed to be doing until she got cornered in an alleyway and slipped in a puddle and then... well, when ducking behind a garbage pile, she had ended up in Learania.
"Oh don't tell me... did someone up and leave the baby?" She shook her head, strands of copper hair hanging in her face. She snapped shut the book she had been writing in, shoved it under the bed, and dashed to the source of the crying. She found Vah wailing and tangling herself up in the blankets.
"Shhh... It's alright, baby, mama will be back in a bit, alright?" The laguz picked up the branded child, patting her back soothingly. Hmph... what kind of mother leaves a baby alone without designating someone to watch her... or at least put her in a crib...

"Ahh... why?"
The Soldier from earlier stood back in the doorway, a confused look on his face. In their haste to leave, nobody remembered to close the front door. Vah's wails had carried out the front door, and the Soldier, concerned, came back inside just in time to hear Aran mention a Javelin.
From the early days of his youth, his mother had also given birth to a younger sister. He knew a little something of babies.
"A baby's not something to be scared of," he said with a nervous laugh. "When a baby cries, it just wants something. Here, let me see."
Javert the Soldier eagerly ran upstairs, tripping as he reached the top step. Pausing a second, he removed his helmet, revealing a head of short, brown hair and a youthful smile. He walked into the bedroom unarmed, yet perfectly safe.

Vah twisted and fidgeted in Lyre's arms as she was lifted out of her little bed. No, this wasn't mommy! She didn't smell like mommy, and she looked all different from mommy, and her hair was all wrong! She loosed another scream right in poor Lyre's face, followed by a series of sharp, hiccuping sobs while tears streamed down her face.
Mommy wasn't here and Mommy was SUPPOSED to be here and she was hungry and wet and there was a weird lady holding her and some new man and by then her face was soaked with tears as she screamed. Try as anyone might, Vah was going to have serious trouble accepting the idea that she had been left in anyone's care but her mother's.

Lyre sighed, unfazed. Once you spend some time with baby Gallian children, nothing really gets you the same way. It's kind of like a high pitch screaming such as Vah's, but combined with an ear piercing cat yowling. She wiped away Vah's tears with the corner of her blanket, humming softly and looking around for something of Ayra's... she noticed a large hawk feather discarded on the floor. She picked it up, and held it up to Vah offhandedly.

"Looks like this is where the cry came form..." Looking into the room that Lyre and Vah were in. "Is she all right miss?"

Vaherianslyeri hiccuped again, then sniffed and looked up with red, puffy eyes to stare at the feather. That was familiar... it smelled like daddy, it felt like a piece of daddy. He reached out and grasped it in one tiny baby hand after a few failed gropes. It stopped her crying, at least, but for the occasional hiccup and wiggle. Wet diapers are uncomfortable! D:
She pulled the feather close, waving it in front of herself as she began to whimper again-- she badly needed a change and a bottle!

"And of course they left you all alone with a wet diaper... what meanies, huh?" She balanced Vah on her hip, trying to eyeball where diapers and supplies might be for her...
She pointed a finger at the unknown soldier who had traipsed in. "You! Go make her a bottle, while I change her." She paused. "Please." She glanced and looked over at Nometal, as well. "She's fine. She's just uncomfortable and a bit scared."
Satisfied with the orders given, she found Vah's bag of baby things and pulled out a fresh diaper, as well as some clean towels and baby powder. She marched into the bathroom, baby securely in her arm, and rinsed Vah's face gently with water from the basin to remove the last of the tear trails. While a squirming baby was always a challenge to clean up and change, it was a simple enough task.
"But Leeettthhee, this is so lame, I don't want to sit here and watch these brats all day!" "Stop whining, here, you can take care of this one, it's just a baby... you can do that, right?" "Wha? No, wait, wait-" Lethe shoved a bundle into her arms, and trouped off with a troop of toddler beast warriors to entertain them outside. Lyre was left for the rest of the day to take care of the youngest...
"Did it before, can do it again, right?" She tossed the soiled diaper in a waste basket, wrapping up the now clean and dry Vaheriansyleri in a fresh diaper and bundling her back up in her blanket.

Bottle, bottle. Right. Bottle.
First, rubber...
It didn't take Javert long to find one, searching through the bag of baby things and finding the rubber caps that oft accompanied bottles. Actually, there was a bottle or two within as well. Convenient!
Next, having paused for a second to ask Nometal the way to their kitchen, he arrived therein, finding the icebox. He opened it up, glancing around for the milk. If there's a baby here, they have to have milk... can't raise a baby without some... here we go!
Unscrewing the lid, he poured some cold milk into the bottle, filling it up. Next it needed to be warmed up. He wasn't sure why, it was just what his mother had told him. The first time he'd been asked to fetch a bottle and returned with cold beer ("But Daddy drinks it!"), she'd smacked him upside the head. Taking a nearby pot and filling it up with water, he set the bottle in the pot and carefully placed it over the fireplace, letting it warm up. Once the matter of warming up the bottle was finished, he traipsed back up the stairs, handing the filled bottle to Lyre. Hopefully, it wasn't too hot... he'd done it a few times before in the past, but then again, that was the past. Still some time to forget timing.
EDIT: Just found out I didn't do the research. Give me a minute.

The young girl clinged to her mother's cloak, sitting on the bed in her and Alihi's room, staying right in the position her mother had left her in. Amara was still rather frightened after being Large's hostage, and no matter how hard she tried, her mind just would not let go of the sound of his voice hissing at her or the feel of the blade pressed so closely to her neck. "Mommy..." She whimpered, wrapping herself in the cloak like it was a blanket.
And then she heard a wail. She stood up and opened the door, curious. The green cloak draped onto the ground behind her as she the sounds of the child, eventually finding herself standing right by Renault's room, where Vah's bassinet currently was. But she saw no child in the room. The red-head blinked, confused. She decided to stick around, sitting herself on the ground with the cloak wrapped tightly around her, looking and feeling rather comfortable.
