Lothiriel giggled at Lin. "Yes, that is why Ulrich spoke to Pen about it," she agreed. "As for me ..."

She giggled again and reverted to thought.

I've been flirting in my own little ways, but Pen hasn't figured it out at all, so let's just not mention it, okay?

And she winked down at the girl.

Lothiriel giggled and sat at the table, where everyone else was already sitting.

"Well, Ulrich is smart," she smiled at Lin. "He knows the questions have already been asked, and by people more closely related to me than him. Besides, he's given Pen all the warning necessary."

Pen, who was sitting across the table from her, blinked and looked suspiciously at Lothiriel upon hearin his name. "Necessary for what?" he asked dubiously.

Pen nodded slowly. "I suppose," he murmured - though truth be told it had been more embarrassing than any of his other interrogations. At least they had been about him, where he was from, who he was, his intentions and the like. This had been a frontal assault, in front of everyone.

Just then Aliya brought the meal over - plates of premade sandwiches.

"Lots more where that came from," she smiled, setting it in the middle of the table, "so don't feel shy. Just help yourselves."

Then she reached down and picked up Adonijah, who was clinging to her leg and moved to sit with Amdir and her children.

It was lessons time this morning so of course the playroom was the place to be. Lin was sitting.. for a lack of a better term in one of the more comfy chairs. Though to be fair, it wasn't much of a sit, with her back against the seat of the chair and her legs propped up against the back of the chair. It was a wonder how this little girl was reading her book instead of being flipped over on the ground. Her short hair dangled over the seat edge which Saki was batting at.

Serenity opened the door to the ranch house and called out, "Hello?" softly in elvish, waiting to see if anyone was awake.

Almost immediately there was a pounding on the stairs and Arwen's excited voice called out, "NAKO!"

She jumped the last several steps and jumped into her grandmother's waiting arms and hugged her tightly. "You're here! It's been so long since you were here!"

Serenity laughed. "Yes, I'm sorry, I know ... I always take so long to come back again." She squeezed Arwen, then set her back on the ground. "And how is your little brother, Arahad?" she asked brightly. "He was only a few weeks old last time I was here."

Arwen giggled and led Serenity towards the dining room, since she knew her grandmother would be hungry - she always was when she came. "He's getting big, and starting to talk!" she said enthusiastically. "Oh! And Kara and Lin and Miyu are here, too!"

"Really?" Serenity's eyes brightened. "Well then I'll have to find them after I eat, won't I?" She laughed softly. She was always eager to hear from them again - not only for their own sakes, but also because they were her only link to news of her daughter.

"Lin!" Serenity exclaimed, spotting the girl just before she entered into the dining room. "Hi! It's been so long since I've seen you, how have you been?"

She stopped, letting Arwen go ahead of her, to talk to Lin for a moment before continuing on.

Serenity blinked. "Oh ... then it looks as though I have some people to meet," she murmured. She couldn't help but smile. She had long since hoped to see Lothiriel again, she hadn't seen her in so long ...

"Beren," she murmured. "The child we rescued all those years ago? He must be quite grown up by now ..."

Just then Elrohir came down from upstairs, his hair mussed up from his sleep, dressed in only a pair of pants. "Morning, Mother," he grinned, putting one arm around Serenity's shoulders and drawing her close. "Good to see you got the message."
