Hitomi would crack the door and peek inside, seeing the class practicing. I could probably just walk in... They seem distracted. Escape jutsu.... Pretty handy techniques, actually. She would open the door just enough for her to slip through and step up to her old desk, to sit and watch the students. Even if they don't kill me, if I can't come back here, I'll die one way or another.

Keiko turned the corner from the hospital and walked straight into the academy. Giglamesh had over taken it and she trusted him, however she wanted to make sure that everyone was still in on piece. As she walked in she there was a student outside, when she got closer she recognized her, it was Hitomi. She had disappeared sometime ago and hadn't heard from her since. She walked up to her, "What are you waiting for?" She smiled, "You have missed many classes. It's about time that you came back and made up the assignments." She gave a little laugh, which hurt her body, however she wasn't regretting leaving the hospital three weeks early.

Hitomi froze, her back stiffened instinctively, preparing for an attack. She didn't turn to strike, nor did she try to move, as that would evoke a harsher punishment.

And then she realized exactly who was behind her... She remembered that voice.... "Keiko-sama." Hitomi turned and dropped to the floor, half out of shock and half out of habit. She was kneeling before Keiko and she spoke to her feet. "I apologize for my absence. I have no excuses." As Hitomi was kneeling, it was relatively easy to see her back where the fabric of her halter-top had loosened, revealing fresh, still pink, scars from the whip. "I beg your mercy."

Keiko was shocked when the Hitomi kneeling before her, however, she thought back to the days that she use to teach alone. How she was very mean, almost b***h-like, to her students. She knelled right in front of Hitomi, she tucked in the kimono that Giglamesh had brought for her, pain short though her body, but she did not show any signs of it. She lifted her face up, and gave a friendly smile "Now, now, it looks like you have gotten yourself into a little rut. Why don't you tell me where you got all of scars? You are not a high enough ranking ninja to have scars like you have." Keiko got up from her spot and opened the academy door, "I'm very different than you remember." She smiled, "Come on, get up and let's have a cup of tea and you can tell me what you have been up to."

Hitomi seemed wary of kindness. She had not known Keiko very well, but she looked confused... She stood and followed as she was bidden, and began to speak also as she was bidden.

"My Master found me here. He had been very angry that I had left. I had made life easier for most of the other slaves by my leaving, but particularly harsh for those who had to endure his frustrations. He was too distracted to whip the ones that didn't matter, but those who were with him more than others were subject to unfair punishment at his sudden outbursts of anger...

He did not take lightly to being made a fool of, nor to being embarrassed by one of his highest sellers escaping. I lost him a lot of money. He tracked me here and threatened to eradicate the village... He has a lot of money. He could have hired an army of mercenaries... Jounin, chuunin, missing-nin. He could have gotten some villages to participate... They probably want Iwa anyway...

I agreed to go quietly, and so I was taken back to the compound and locked in his private quarters... he could not sell me anymore, for he had told his customers I had died... Better to lose your number one girl than to lose all your customers. He was very angry...."

Hitomi paused and watched the ground as she spoke, her face neutral as she recalled her life in that cursed room...

"I suffered the whip at regular intervals. before breakfast, before lunch, and after supper... And whenever he felt in a bad mood... I was no longer good merchandise, but that didn't mean I couldn't be used for... Personal pleasures....

I waited... I bided my time... He was prone to drunkenness, and I waited for him to come back drunk... My training here saved my life.... He took his anger out and was exhausted... This was the first time he had left himself open... I slipped the ropes and..."

For the first time, Hitomi stopped talking... Her eyes showed emotion, and she tried to choke the words out...

"He wasn't drunk.... He was faking it.... We fought and... I- I killed him.... But there was a fire... He was stockpiling weapons... I made it out... No one else did...."

Keiko listened to the story with great care. It seemed that she had gone though a lot of pain and that it was going to be a long road to recovery. This is one of the things she hated about her life, teaching kids how to kill and there was nothing that she could do about their backgrounds. So some students might be strong and some might be weak and pitiful. She turned to Hitomi and pushed her in the door and shut it behind them. "Look, I have a lot of things to say about this. However, I refuse to say it in the middle of my academy. So why don't we go into my office and I'll tell you what I think. Okay? Okay." Keiko started walking down to her office. "Come on, I don't have all day."

Hitomi's eyes darkened, the corners sharpened. She was suspicious again.... She did as she was told, but she kept her back tight, to lessen the pain. Why the sudden change? What's she getting at? Hitomi kept moving, just to have something to do. She felt like a caged animal. Again.

Keiko unlock the door with her nails, she looked back, she wasn't going to earn her trust quickly, that was for sure. She walked in, "Please close the door behind you." She walked over to her desk and took out two tea packets and like magic there was tea ready for two. She looked at her desk and sighed, "Meh, I can't get any help around here! I swear, being in the hospital isn't fun..." Keiko went on a ramble with herself while she was clearing off her desk. After a minute or two she had cleared a spot of herself and jumped up on the desk, and took a sip of her tea. She motioned Hitomi to sit and get her tea. She looked around the room and then back at her, "I don't want you to grow up like me." She looked back down at her tea, "I don't want you grow up without family, or good role models."

"i think it may be too late for that... I'm about as good as dead..."
Hitomi picked up her tea and sipped it carefully, trying to find a trace of anything suspicious... Apparently satisfied, she began to drink it as quickly as if it would run away if she took her eyes off of it. "I mentioned he had been stockpiling weapons... They were for a third party... They're going to be very angry... I shouldn't have come back... I should have stayed away. I've put the village at risk... But then again, they don't have the weapons to attack us... They have more than enough to kill me, though..." Hitomi looked at Keiko for the first time. She took in the sight of her teacher with her one remaining eye. Sorrow filled her eyes, but she wasn't crying; she wouldn't cry. She didn't know if she even could anymore. "Did I come all this way just to die, Sensei?"

Keiko looked at her, "No, you didn't put anyone in danger. You are fine. You won't die." She put down her tea and hopped off her desk and sat next to her, "You have to trust me, you won't die, and everything will be fine." She smiled, "Besides the whole people coming to kill you part, do you have a place to stay? Any family? Anything at all?"

My parents are dead. My sister died to save me. I have no home. I have this-" Hitomi pulled her blood-red bangs back from her right eye and revealed a glass sharingan, expertly crafted, it almost looked real. She let them fall again "- and the closest thing I have to a friend is my pet Harpy Eagle, Kon~Kou. This village is the only place I have..."

Keiko hated any girl living alone at that age. She had did it and was sexual and verbally abused, she sighed, she wondered what Giglamesh would say if we took her until she got through the academy. She looked at her, "Okay, How much do you trust me? I know that we've just re-met and you have gone through a tragic time. However, if my husband, Giglamesh, agrees to it, would you like to live with us?" Keiko knew t h at she was taking a big chance saying this to her, however Gig knew what she was like when she was 16, after living 5 years alone.

He wouldn't hurt a woman.... Right? Hitomi paused her tea right before her lips... And then it dawned on her did she just say that? Hitomi's eyes lit up slightly. Keiko-sama and Giglamesh-sama.... She wants me to stay with them? "I- I would like that very much- Keiko-sama. Should Gig-sama agree..."

(Begin hardcore training tomorrow morning)

Hiei and baylonka entered the academey bright and eairly the next day and they both knew what hiei needed to acomplish by the time the day was over. He needed to learn the amazing kakuremino no jutsu. Baylonka sat at his side as he stretched. His hands were sore from the day before but it wasn't gonna slow him down. His fingers were really tired since he had repeated the hand signs dozens of times. " you ready to do this? " he asked baylonka who was patently waiting at his side. The wolf barked with aproval as hiei failed at the jutsu.

Keiko smiled, "Good, because you had no choice. I hate seeing girls on their own at such a young age." She turned and hopped up on her desk and took in some of her tea. "However, just to let you know, Gig has been acting very childish lately, however that's just between us."
