Ranu was not amused. He'd have been more amused if someone had slapped him the face, and that act would have earned the slapper a one way trip to the void. The first shell warned the Captain, who waved his hand swiftly, shielding the Pearl against the second shot which had been so close it got caught in the shield a few moments before exploding from the pressure.
Thus defended, Ranu growled at the sails, as if to fill them with wind. Nothing happened and the Pearl still followed slowly.

One of the crewmen lowered a telescope.
Crewman: "Sir, it's the Vampyre Lord Michael warned us of!"
Captain Gunn: "I see, well perhaps we'd better switch to our second strategy..."
The crewman knodded as several barrels where carried onto the deck, and cracked open. Captain Gunn moved over to the barrels, withdrawing a cross from his pocket. He motioned over the barrels, blessing them. One by one crewmen loaded their blessed ammunition and targeted the Pearl.
Captain Gunn: "The demon can't stop these... FIRE!"

PK: I thought we were forgetting something... sure thing Aubry *runs my hand across the marks and she's healed* so... I guess that means Michael lost, since he retreated...

"naw, the bilge rat merely sensed danger, and decided to relocate" auron says, sighing as he wraps his wings around his chest and stomach "and i will kill michael, i will not stop hunting him till i do" he says, calmly walking over to aubry and swiping his hand over her back, as her clothes are repaired "now, what should we start fixing first?" he says, smiling as he looks at tortuga

Miles:*walks back up from below* how about your airship? I have the key component that's needed to keep it flying right here... *holds out a wierd orb* all it needs is a drop of your blood auron... and it can amplify your aeromancing powers through any ship you have it in... and it'll run as long as you live too! just be careful not to let anyone else get a hold of it it... it's a device like what keeps the Naught here connected to PK's abilities... of course you'll need a ship that can survive at high altitudes, that's up to you to do...
PK: well... we did build a fort on tortuga, so we can re-locate the survivors to there while we re-build the town...

As time passed, Michael and his fleet continued to sail south, followed closely by Ranu...
As The French fleet drew closer to Tortuga, Vincentt climbed the main stairwell of the Requiem to the massive, ball room like cabin belonging to the mysterious "Lord Marcel." Vincentt stepped through the grand doors with authority, the pale figure stood at the grand windows at the opposite side of the room. A black cape covering his figure, Lord Marcel seemed to have the sea at his command. Before Vincentt could take another step forward he found a sword at his throat.
Vincentt: "Nice trick, brother."
A tattooed figure dressed in the clothes of a warrior stepped out of the shadows, his grey hair hanging over the left side of his face.
Leon: "Lord Marcell just tought me that one. Thought you might like it."
Vincentt: "It certainly is impressive, now if you don't mind..."
Leon lowered his sword and slumped into a nearby chair. Vincentt approached the dark figure.
Vincentt: "M'lord we have recieved confirmation that Captain Richman's fleet was engaged in battle in Tortuga."
Marcel turned his head slighty to see Vincentt in the corner of his eye, his dark hair falling over his face.
Vincentt: "We were able to pick up a couple of spies, who had been stranded in his first attack of the island, as well as drop off another twenty or so. The spies were able to tell us alot of useful information, such as who our target has been associating with..."
Leon: "Oh Goody! Another target?"
Vincentt: "Yes, it seems he's been associating with the Spirit Fleet, and its Admiral, Kibo Botch. Here is the information we have on Mr. Botch..."
Vincentt scattered a number of sketches, maps, and official looking biographies of the Spirit Fleet and its members. Leon sat on the desk, picking up a picture of a female crew member, letting out a whistle of satisfaction.
Leon: "And who is this?"
Vincentt: "That is a crewmember they call 'Sunny'."
Leon: "Not to bad..."
Lord Marcel: "Are they close?"
The sudden interruption by Lord Marcel shocked both men.
Vincentt: "Yes, m'lord, our spies tell us Mr. Botch and this young lady are very close."
Leon: "Ah! Botch's booty, eh?"
Vincentt: "It's possible, although they cannot confirm that they have..."
At a loss for words Vincentt tries hand sighns. Marcel stares blankly at his officer, while Leon falls over laughing at his brother's attempt to explain (well all of you know)
Leon: "HAHAHAHA! You mean they haven't slept together? Hah! That's good, I don't like to share."
Vincentt gives his brother a look of disgust.
Vincentt: "What makes you so certain she'll fall for you?"
Leon flexes.
Leon: "Who wouldn't mate?"
Lord Marcel: "Enough."
The two fall silent and turn to their master.
Lord Marcel: "Bring me this girl. Leon, I charge you with this task."
Leon: "I shall not fail."
Lord Marcel: "You are both dismissed."
The two bow and exit.
...
Within the hour, white sails line the coast of Tortuga as the French fleet manuevers through the wrekage of war, pulling into port. Ships fire warning shots as boats of troops are sent ashore.

PK: ah hell no... *looks at the ships* damn... looks like it's no over yet... Auron, it seems we still have some fight on our hands!... Miles, get below deck and seal up the naught.... Aubry, if you wish to sit this one out you can join Miles... if you've still got some fight in ya' though, me and Auron could probably use the backup since.... hey, where did kibo go anyway??

Sunny had a niggling feeling that something bad was going to happen. The chilly feeling wrapped itself around her and had her constantly looking over her shoulder. Kibo was out and the crew were busy with their own tasks so she assumed she was just being too sensitive. She went about getting dressed in a pretty blue dress that Aubry gave her and pulled a dark blue wrap over her shoulders and head since it was a fairly cool and windy night.
A friend had requested she stop by the bar to sing since the band they booked had cancelled and they were in a pinch. Unable to resist a cry for help she agreed wholeheartedly, even as she fretted over her stage fright.
As she walked down the streets the bad feeling bearing down on her shoulders became more intense. She lightly ran her fingertips over the throwing knives she had strapped to her thigh to remind her that she wasn't defenseless.
Somewhat reassured she walked at a normal pace past the fountain at the center of town toward the bar where her friend was waiting for her.

[Dude. Crosses won't hurt Ranu, nor will holy water. Only way to kill a vamp is to stab them in the heart then scatter the ashes.
THis was far longer and funnier, but Gaia swollowed it. sad
It had a comment about the only way a cross will hurt Ranu is to hit him with those big ones outside churches, though. biggrin ]

Captain Blackheart glanced up as another salvo hit his shields. He frowned in annoyment as he heard the hiss of water. "What do they think I am? A fracking vampire?"
The crew glanced up, hearing how angry Ranu had sounded. They blinked as he vanished.

Ranu slid into focus behind the captain. A dagger flashed from his boot and slid through the captains throat. A closer look would have shown it was Storm's dagger. Without even giving enough time to let them panic, the vampyre returned to his ship.

Sunny jumped and spun around with a throwing knife in hand ready for a fight. "Oh! Storm, I'm sorry... You startled me" she said, sighing with relief. "I've had a bad feeling for a bit now and so I'm a little paranoid" she laughed.

Michael stood at the Stern of his replacment ship, the Resolucion, watching Captain Gunn Die through the lense of a telescope.
"S**t."
Captain: "Sir?"
"I thought we'd have a bit more time, we're still a while away from the rendezvouz point..."
Captain: "Shall we increase speed?"
"Yes, do."
(I have to go to a town meeting, i'll finish your part later sunny. You'll just have to wait like a good girl 3nodding )

auron takes the orb and opens a small dark portal, shoving it inside and closing it "better than a backpack" he says, drawing his dagger and pointing it at the fleets flagship "Resatè, extend!" he yelled, as his blade grew enormously long and stabbed through three navy men "dont ever mess with my island!" he yells, swinging the sword around and cutting off two feet of the front of the ship
