Well, seeing that I can't vote, not really... so too on my campus... there are police for that! and concealed weapon permits! oh wait... you are not voting age... means also not old enough to have a gun... then carry a pocket knife and learn Rape Agression Defense! gonk and don't work at night... but carry anyway and learn to protect yourself! eek

Nariana The laws are by state, right? yup. it was a big deal in Student Senate once. the few of us who were against the resolution to ban firearms on campus pointed out the flaws of the bill. 1.) that it's by state anyway. 2.) that the state already HAS that law, and they were trying to claim that you could conceal-carry; it was untrue. 3.) and that the ones who would shoot up the school aren't getting guns legally anway. if you want to protect students, allow them to have the means to defend themselves.

Nariana You have a debate for everything, don't you? xd I'm assuming you were unable to repeal the ban? it wasn't a resolution to repeal the ban, it was a resolution to ban something in the local level that was already banned in the state level and isn't a local-level issue. o_O; but, we did manage to postpone the measure indefinitely, and it just didn't get brought up again next semester because all the sponsors were graduating or resigning from Senate. ^_^

I don't get it. it was that they were trying to do something stupid, pointless, political, brainwashing and potentially detrimental to the safety of the students. if a measure like that DID get pushe dinto local-level politics an dplaced on the local legislature, it would be difficult to remove. especially in such a Blue city in such a Blue county.

I wanna first pass the Bar Exam, and then sign up for the National Guard General Advocates Corp. stack my career, see? I'm gonna dual majour in Criminal Justice and Journalism when I transfer to UF. trying to get into the Levin School of Law and become a Civil Lawyer.

Nariana Ooo~ That sounds like a plan! What year are you now? I've completed about half of my A.A. courses... going for 7 Credit Hours this and next semester, and then 12-13 for the next almost-year.

I had been sloppy with time management and lost my financial aid. I nee dto earn it back by paying out of pocket; with no job. xp I nee dto complete another 12 credit hours, and increase my GPA back to above 2.5 and my completion percentage to over 67%.
