Skaeryll Tonberry Crunch Skaeryll I don't understand why gay marriage is banned in places... it's not like it physically effects anyone who isn't the 2 males or 2 females getting married. It's an issue to some because: Bible Issues - Homosexuality is a sin (Book written by different people across time - I'm sure there wouldn't be at least one hateful idiot in that group rolleyes ) And some think it is a slippery slope. "First homosexuality, then bestiality" ...Really. Might want my d**k inside a dog later.Sinning is dumb... honestly I can't think of a single person who hasn't "sinned"... Overly religious people annoy me so much. I believe a certain Jesus made the same argument.

A marriage amendment is apparently on the ballot here in 2012. On one hand, maybe this will actually work out. On the other hand, people get to vote on whether or not we get equal rights. mad

Overly religious people annoy me so much. I don't like how either of those are valid political reasons for outlawing it. We live in what claims to be a democracy, but I can't remember ever having a PM that didn't use God as an excuse at least once. In a society as culturally diverse as ours, religion just has no place in politics.
Then again, I never saw the point of getting married in the first place and don't see why it's such a big deal. It's just a formality, it doesn't, like, give you superpowers or anything. neutral There's nothing stopping gays from renting a hall and a pair of tuxes (or dresses [or a tux and a dress]) and having a big party and celebrating their love for one another in front of all their friends. The only thing they can't get is the boring minister's monologue and the legal status. And who would want that? Isn't it just another set of rules to follow and a new, tedious, expensive step slapped on to the breakup?

Just because I can't get married in Michigan doesn't mean I won't get married. As far as laws or religion go, I could care less. And just because the law says I can't get married I can be with whoever I want.
Or do it like South Park. Be "butt buddies"

LPS - Thanks, but I'm not really.
And Michigan is a place I'm surprised doesn't support same sex marriage. I'll have to check out that bill for 2012. Obama can pass it and gain a lot of support from gay couples.
I still hate him
