Twi had enough sense to know it was time to call it a night. he was groggy, and he was losing money fast. he was getting a little bit irritated, but he knew he shouldn't. so he congratulated his opponent on all his victories and payed for his table.

grabbing a soda for the way out, Twi sauntered off to the ally he was told to be at, and waited. he found a little shadowed spot with a decent view of both directions, and sat down in the corner of a box pile there. he'd likely see Nari before she spotted him, or leastways he hoped.

((Long, long fight post~))

As the referee announced the beginning of the fight, Nari quickly used her final remaining seconds to analyze her surroundings as best as she could. She noted that Jewelle had on black gloves, so she could only assume that Jewelle was also skilled at hand-to-hand combat. 'Okay, gotta figure out how much room I have to work with, and I need to know Jewelle's speed while I still have wiggle room...' she thought and had an idea. Instead of taking on an offensive stance like she should have, she took a few steps back and left only two or so feet of space between her and the nearest corner of the ring. It'd be only moments before Jewelle came for her; she was sure of it and readied herself to spring.

"Looks like someone's a little shy. Why don't we change that?" Jewelle said with a sly smile before getting a running start and charging at Nari with a swift side kick. 'Perfect!' Nari grinned before leaping to the right, transitioning into a barrel roll, and landing squatted on her feet at the adjacent corner of the ring. It was apparent that the ring was large enough for some evasive maneuvers-- maybe twenty feet give or take. But it was also apparent that Jewelle was a fast one. She was now behind Nari readying for a direct kick to the head.

Eyes widening, Nari had just enough reaction time to roll out of the way again. This time, she quickly got back on her feet and didn't hesitate to finally make a move. Wanting to test hand-to-hand combat, she went for the classic right-handed knuckle punch. As expected, Jewelle deftly deflected her hand away and used her own right hand to return it. This began a series of punches and blocks from both sides, neither of the women seeming to gain any real ground. That was until Nari quickly brought her right left up for a hard kick to Jewelle's stomach. The smaller elf gasped in pain as she was thrown onto her back. All the while, the crowd hollered Jewelle's name in shock.

Nari ran over to meet Jewelle on the ground and finish Jewelle off while she was down; however, Jewelle sprang up with help from her hands and kicked Nari off-balance. This got the crowd cheering for Jewelle loudly again. Trying to avoid a direct hit, Nari jerked backward in mid-squat and crossed her arms over her chest to let them take the hit. Nari bit her lip to fight back a small groan of pain, and she scurried to get even-footed while Jewelle also regained her stance. "Not bad," Jewelle said as she dusted off her kimono. "But not good enough!"

And with that, Jewelle drastically increased her speed. She propelled herself with a running jump and landed two kicks-- one with each foot-- into Nari's abdomenal area before the taller elf could dodge. Staggering several steps back, Nari lost her breath for what felt like an eternity and couldn't adequately prepare for Jewelle's second round of punches. Instinctively, she crossed her arms across her currently sagging body, but several well-placed punches still breached her currently poor defenses while she tried to steady her breathing.

When she regained her senses and most of her air, she turned offensive again. Getting desperate to avoid anymore hits near her ribs, Nari latched her right arm down onto Jewelle's left shoulder while the petite elf's arms were still retracted mid-punch, dug her nails in for good measure, and knocked Jewelle straight in the nose with her left hand. The crowd gasped as Jewelle's blood spattered onto the arena and she howled in pain. This couldn't have happened if Nari did not have almost half a foot on Jewelle.

Refusing to lose this brief momentum, Nari took advantage of Jewelle's disoriented state and did a roundabout kick to Jewelle's side. That was it for Jewelle. She fell down onto her stomach, got back up on her feet shakily, and fell again.

The referee jumped in before Nari could inflict anymore damage and announced, "We have a winner! The newcomer!!" The crowd had grown silent, but as if it had made a collective decision, it roared back to life and cheered. "NEWBIE!! NEWBIE!!" could be discerned, and Nari sighed in relief. 'Who knew a short fight like that could become so stressful? Are all the fights like this?' she thought as she raised a fist in the air. Poor Jewelle was carried bridal style by one of Emilio's men down the corridor Nari had seen the last loser go into.

Now all that was left was watching a few other opponents, talking to Emilio, and meeting Twi. She hadn't expected the fight to happen so soon, but that meant perhaps she'd meet Twi well before midnight. 'Good. It'd be nice to go to bed for once,' she mused.

Okay, next post will just totally wrap up to start Nari and Twi's meeting. I wanted a fancy-shmancy post for the fight. It's really not a long scene, but I hope it turned out well~

Luciano replied to Koji "We're going after Nariana as well."
"Oh? she told you she was betraying you?"
"She didn't have to tell me."
Luciano got to traffic light, the light was red so he stopped and waited for the light to turn, he looked over at the informant and said to her, "You forget that I know when people are lying to me. . Or hiding something from me."

After a few minutes of ear-blasting cheering from the crowd, one of Emilio's guards ushered Nari off the stage and back into the private box office. There, she received her jeans and jacket as promised. She took her time putting them back on; her abs were feeling tender from Jewelle's punches. 'Guess this'll make it seem like Twi put up a fight later tonight,' she mused to herself.

The door opened again, but Nari paid no attention to it as she zipped up her jacket. "Nariii, you almost had me worried out there," Emilio said behind her and patted her on the shoulder with a cheeky grin. "Sorry I made you concerned, Emil," she responded flatly to his mild sarcasm. Emilio let out a huff and sat in a leather seat, motioning for her to follow suit. She sat, her eyes following Emilio's gaze carefully.

"I'm sure you're busy and whatnot with your secret ninja stuff--" he said playfully while waving his hands around, but got serious as he continued, "so let me be brief. Tonight was just a warm up. These fights aren't for fun. Down here, you get lucky if you're out for only a broken nose and some bruises. Watch a few fights, and you will see what I mean. I hope you can do better than what you showed against Jewelle. Otherwise, you're done for and can forget about my help. I let you in on this because I know how you can fight; don't make me regret it. Remember that." Nari balled her hands into fists at his comments, but she merely nodded and took her leave quietly.

She took time to stand around and watch a few matches like Emilio had said. While most of them lasted about ten minutes and had fairly even-matched opponents, one very short fight in particular disturbed her a bit. In the end, a light elf was carried out of the ring after suffering what could have been a broken arm and leg. The opponent was a dark elf about Nari's size with white hair and a look of pure hatred in her light grey eyes. She had to suppress a shiver and decided it was time to leave afterward.

She went through the hallway she saw the losers go through and found herself in a medical ward. 'Maybe these gangsters have a sense of caring, afterall,' she thought and continued walking until she entered another room similar to the first one with Brock. After being let through a metal door, she found herself in another abandoned alleyway outside. It took her several minutes to regain her bearings; she really should have asked for directions. But she eventually found herself in the correct alleyway where she was supposed to meet Twi. Surprised to see him already waiting for her, she said, "Well, what do we have here? Couldn't wait to get this over with, huh?" She looked at him from head to toe while he sat. He looked pretty awful, which was just what she wanted.

he growled a bit, sort of glaring at her in irritation with on obviously intoxicated look on his face. he must have looked a wreck. could have passed for a hobo with his filthy clothes and battered face, reaking of alcohol, and completely broke.

"so how're we doing this?" he asked flatly. he wanted to get to the point. "you look pretty battered yourself, and I know I'm a mess. just gonna cuff me and bring me in?"

he hoped his suggestion would work. maybe she'd be tired and wanna take the easy way out. but he knew she might still take advantage of his capture to give him a hard time once he was bound.

"Heh, if only it was that easy," Nari replied to Twi and crossed her arms under her chest. She had to take a deep through her nose to stop herself from visibly flinching; that was definitely a sore spot to avoid for the next several hours. She added, "I know you're tipsy, but you have to remember who we're trying to fool. Luciano will never believe me if you just waltz into HQ in handcuffs. It has to be more clever than that."

A good minute passed as Nari contemplated how she wanted to do this; if only she had adequate time to concoct a real plan. 'I could call Luciano and bring him here, but he might get the idea to snoop around and find out what really happened. Hmm. And I can't carry or drag Twi to HQ the old-fashioned kidnapping way... Ohh, maybe that...' she thought.

As an idea popped into her mind, Nari snapped her fingers and mumbled, "You're not going to like this, but hey." Sighing and smiling slightly, she told Twi, "So imagine yourself coming from the bar, drunk as usual. I happen to find you, then I beat you up and knock you out. When you come to, you're bound at HQ. This sounds pretty close to what our current situation looks like, yes? You're drunk, and you've clearly been in a fight. But there's two problems: you're still very-much conscious, and we're not at HQ." Nari started gesturing with her hands as she fumbled a little with the next part. "Now I promised I wouldn't cause you anymore bodily harm, and I'm a halfway decent person who will honor that. But we're reaaally trying to make this believable, so.... I'm going to need you to use my rod to stun yourself silly. Then you'll find yourself in my car and at HQ in no time." That last part was said almost cheerfully, as if she was trying to make this-- again, out of the blue-- idea sound like a walk in the park for Twi.

he stared at her, wide-eyed, in disbelief. "you have got to be ******** kidding me!" he protested. "you expect me to shock myself unconscious!?"

he began to stand up and walk towards the smaller elf in an almost lurching, threatening fashion. "you're crazy! I won't do it!"

(( OOC: you should probably just shock him right now, and knock him out. xd it'll be perfect! ))

It's not like Nari didn't expect Twi to have objections to her idea. Still, she found herself annoyed and decided to take matters into her own hands. She shoved her hands in her pockets and sighed heavily. Why did everything have to be so difficult?

Staring at Twi unamused and a little disappointed, she took a step to fill the gap between them and said, "Then you leave me with no choice," before releasing her rod from her jacket pocket and jabbing him in his right side. Frowning, she flipped the rod's switch and watched as the electricity flowed. It would be no more than ten seconds before he succumbed to the pain, she estimated.

Nariana

his eyes widened again, in shock from the surprise, but it was too late. he screamed and writhed, his body convulsing uncontrollably, until he finally slumped down and fell unconscious.

his thoughts were frantic, frightened and anxious. but he wasn't cognizant in his knocked-out state. he was dreaming, imagining the things that could happen, most of them terrible as could be. he saw his own torture and death a number of times, but forgot each version of the events played out as they were happening. to an outside observer, he would appear dead. he wasn't moving, his body was limp, and ice cold, and pale as death.

"D-mn... I actually feel a little bad," Nari mumbled as Twi fell to the ground. She really didn't enjoy doing that, despite what he might think when he woke up. Going back on her promises was against her beliefs as a businesswoman. To her, verbal deals carried almost the same value as signing a contract, which was of the utmost importance where she was concerned.

For a moment, she wondered if she had overdone the electrocuting. Twi didn't look too good. But as long as he was alive, this would definitely look convincing now. She pulled her cell phone out of her other jacket pocket and called Max. "Yes, ma'am!" Max said on the other line, barely able to hide his relief at her safety. "You know where you dropped me off? Pick me up on the street directly behind it. I have... a guest to take with me to HQ," Nari told Max. There was a pause on Max's part, and finally a sigh was let out. What had his friend done this time? "... Yes, ma'am," he said much less enthusiastically this time before hanging up.

In about ten minutes, Nari spotted his sleek car coasting slowly down the street. He was obviously looking for her. She popped out of the alleyway for a moment to guide him. After parking, Max got out and asked her carefully, "Where's your guest?" Nari only pointed down to the ground, and Max's eye twitched. Without another word, Max grudgingly picked up the unconscious Twi on one side while Nari grabbed the legs. They got him into the back seat of the car, hopped in themselves, and drove off.

One look at Max proved that he was none too pleased, and Nari felt that she might as well fill him in now. As Max drove, Nari explained to him how HQ was attacked, who the unconscious man was and how he was involved, Luc's distrust of the team, Nari's shaky plan to secretly help the gang through Emilio, and the recent need to clear her name. At the end of the monologue, Max said nothing for a few minutes. He was seemingly troubled about something Nari told him, but she couldn't figure out what it was. Perhaps he was upset about the entire plan.

After running a hand through his black hair, Max merely told her with a dark look on his face, "If you get killed, I will see to it that your company goes to ruin." A small smile crept onto Nari's face at that; Max never threatened her about anything. 'He must really disapprove of my actions. And yet, we're still here together. Hmm,' she thought. "Thank you for helping me, Maximilian," she said sincerely all of a sudden. This was her one ride-'til-you-die friend, for sure. Max's face softened, and his shoulders sagged. "Don't mention it..." he mumbled.

Koji decided it would be best not to speak up again at Luciano's last statement. It wouldn't have mattered anyway, anything he said at this point would either be pushed aside or result in another outburst of anger. Not to mention that he kept getting looks from the woman in the front seat that clearly said to keep his mouth shut. The uncomfortable silence dragged on for what felt like hours, only interrupted by the occasional directions given by the informant. Without being able to give input or help the situation any, Koji ended up leaning his head back against the window; the cold glass pressed against the skin on the back oh his head where his hair would have covered it before his recent change in style. It wasn't long before his eyes started feeling heavy again and he drifted off.
User Image
"You came... I knew you wanted to kick some vampire a** with me.."

Koji's eye shot open and he took a sharp intake of breath. It sounded like the woman was in the middle of saying something, so hopefully they hadn't heard. He adjusted himself in the seat and rubbed his eyes while really hoping this wasn't going to be a recurring problem with sleep. The image of his brother came back to mind and he realized just how similar the situations were. It wasn't until then that Koji noticed how much Luciano's current state reminded him of how his brother used to be, and that realization terrified him.

Luciano tried to calm down, but the more he thought of recent events, the more he wanted to just shoot someone. He didn't know what to believe, or who to trust.
At this point he seemed to be driving in circles, "Where the ******** are we going?" He said to his informant, "Uh-oh. . . I think you took a wrong turn somewhere. May I drive?" Luciano grunted. Took a wrong turn somewhere? SHE was the one giving him directions. Luciano pulled over on the side of the street. This street looked so inactive, not even the homeless could be seen. Luciano sighed and said to her, "Fine. You drive. I'm sick of it anyway." Luciano got out of the car, as did the informant. The two walked around the front of the car. As soon as Luciano's back was turned to her, she quickly struck the back of his head with a club and he fell like a sack of bricks.
She wiped the sweat off of her forehead and said to herself, "That was much harder than I thought." and then began to drag his body to the side of the car.

Koji jumped from the noise and looked out of the car to see what was going on. "s**t.." He mumbled, jumping out of the car and helping her hold Luciano up. "So, what's the plan here?" Koji asked, adjusting his hold. "I don't think he's going to be very willing to cooperate after he wakes up from this."

"Oh, I know!" She said, as they loaded the unconscious Luciano into the car, once he was in she bound up his hands and feet so that if he woke up, he couldn't get away. "Okay, the plan is: We take him back to HQ, and then we have to find Twilight and the others. I kinda lied when I said I knew where he was- Truth be told, that ******** went off the grid when he wasn't supposed to. My Intel says that he's got some shady thing going on with someone and that's about ALL we have for now. If you know anything, please tell me right now. We don't have a lot of time." She hinted to Koji to get in the car, and as fast as she could, she hopped in the driver's side and started it up. "Once we get Luci here back to HQ, I'll really need your help looking for Twi, and any member of your team willing to help us!"
