A slow smile spread over Lori's face and split into a grin.
"Yeah! Yeah, of course I will!" He pulled Maia into a hug, partially because he felt himself welling up. He held her close for a few moments, even as small as she was, and released her, snuffled, and felt a tear fall. Damnit! He just laughed at himself.

Maia returned the hug and smiled. She couldn't think of anyone better. Lori had been one of the first people she'd met and liked when she'd come to HQ. She hugged him again. "I was hoping you'd agree," she said. "I love you, Lori."

Lori accepted the second hug too, even if he was a little embarrassed. He kissed the top of Maia's head and rubbed her back.
"I love you too!"

"Now we can go in," Maia said, releasing Lori and smiling at him. "I bet Luca's wondering if I kidnapped you."

"He'd probably invite you to at this point," Lori joked, "Sure, come on in. We already ate, but we have ice cream if you want." He went back to the door and opened it for Maia.

Cody dialed Dari's number. He missed his fiancée. He wanted to see him, to wake up next to him, to do something. Maybe apologizing would work this time.
"Dari, want to come over?" He asked. "I miss you."

Dari answered the phone without hesitation. Cody was still his fiancee even if they were having a fight. Dari wouldn't have called it a 'fight' himself but apparently it was as such to others. So be it. He had been upset, and while leaving might have been a bit drastic it had felt like the right thing to do at the time. Cody had needed some time to think. Nothing Dari had said was hitting home. He still loved the man, and he knew he was loved in return.
He nodded when Cody asked him to visit. It might not be 'the time' but he missed Cody too. Maybe they could talk more. He would be sure to not overreact this time.
"Sure. Now?"

"Now would be good," Cody said. Yeah. Now was good. "We could watch a movie or something," he added, hopefully. Maybe everything would be alright. He really wished he hadn't opened his stupid fat mouth. Dari had seemed amused, at first, but he'd crossed the line.

"Okay, sure. Give me a few minutes to get there," Dari said with a smile. He began the search for his keys.

"Alright," The waiting began. Cody flipped an app open and closed it a few times, seating himself on a chair near the door. He stared at his phone and sighed. The past two days had been the worst, except maybe just after he'd learned of Dari's true self and panicked.
...yeah that had definitely been worse.

"I'll see you soon then," Dari said, and hung up. He was at the apartment in good time, but he hadn't rushed. He knocked on the door, even having a key. It was never nice to just enter a person's house, not even your fiancee's.

Cody opened the door. He paused and moved the chair he'd been sitting in out of sight with his foot. "Hi, love," he said, as if he'd done nothing. "C'mon in," he moved back to allow Dari inside.

Dari of course noticed the chair. He smiled and shook his head, then entered the apartment. He eyed the chair briefly before kissing Cody's cheek. Oh? Had he been sitting by the door? He felt worse for leaving now.
"Did you pick a movie?" he asked.

"I thought I'd let you pick," Cody said, and led Dari to the living room. He offered him the remote. "What do you feel like?" He asked, sitting down on the couch.
