Dari's expression slowly turned down. He ended with a furrowed brow and a slight frown.
"Cody. You're not being logical. He's my brother. He's a member of the community, he's engaged, he has friends-- he's not a monster. It's naturally difficult to fight instincts, but he does, and the others who come to us willfully allow us to lock them up for the evening. We've never had a werewolf problem at HQ, and we know of quite a few."

"Yes, I know all that," Cody shook his head. Toby was a good guy. They were friends. He'd accepted Cody when he'd needed someone to tap to most. That didn't mean he wanted to be anywhere near the guy come the full moon.
"Still busy on full moons," he said.

There came no verbal response. Dari just gave Cody a Look for a few seconds, and then decided he was getting nowhere.
"I think perhaps I should go."

Cody fell silent, studying Dari. Oh. His expression saddened. "Alright," he said. "I'll call you later?"

Dari nodded and offered a smile smile.
"Yes, please do." He began gathering his things, hoping for but not expecting an apology.

Cody looked awkward. He rubbed the back of his neck. "Look, I'm sorry if I upset you, love..." The idea that the monsters that'd given him nightmares the majority of his childhood existed, well, it scared him. He stood and started helping Dari gather his things.

"It's not upsetting me that you should be sorry about," Dari replied. He was being logical, leaving and giving Cody a bit of time to consider what he had said and implied. He had no intention of leaving forever. If Cody could accept that he was an extraterrestrial and his life had been built on lies, he could accept that Toby was a werewolf. Even if he didn't believe in Toby's 'domestication,' there was no reason to continue pressing upon it.

But it was. Cody looked to Dari. He'd been hoping it was a bluff. That Dari would stay. That didn't seem to be the case. "I'll call you later," he promised. "I love you."

"I apologize for acting so irrationally," Dari apologized, and then leaned over to kiss Cody's cheek. "I love you too." With that, he pulled his bag over his shoulder and headed out the door.

It'd been a few days since Maia had told Toby she'd something to ask Lori (and that she wasn't telling him what the question was until she had Lori's answer). A week and a half, in fact. She'd intended to go straight after talking over plans with Toby, but she'd made the mistake of opening Pinterest on her computer. It'd been dinner time by the time she looked up.
She headed over to Lori's house and knocked on the door.

Lori had been relaxing with Luca after he'd attempted dinner, and nothing was on fire. That was a definite plus. Rosie came with him to answer the door and wagged her nub when it was Maia.
Lori immediately feared the worst, but he smiled. Maia didn't seem upset.
"Hey, what's up? Do you want to come in?" he stepped back.

"Actually, can you come out here for a second? I have something to ask you." And elven ears could hopefully be stopped by a closed door. "Hi Rosie!" The Selkie bent down and stroked her ears. "How are you?"

Rosie happily licked Maia's hand, and then Lori shooed her back inside. He stepped out onto the porch.
"Is everything alright?"

"Everything's fine," Maia assured him quickly. She gave him a smile. "I've never asked anyone something like this before, though. I haven't told Toby. Do you want to walk me down the aisle at my wedding?" She asked.

Oh boy. What in the world would it be? Then it came, and Lori leaned forward slightly, eyes wide and questioning. "Huh?"
