Generic - in this case - means ordinary, non-specific. By removing the japor pendant and the drape, you can turn it into an ordinary evening gown instead of a Padme cosplay costume.

xd I've been having to keep a tight reign on edit-ordering, m'self, but the latest batch I got from Kimi is gorgeous! blaugh heart *huggles for Kimi and Meri and tosses pocky and hearts all around* heart

There isn't currently a normal view version of Padme's nightgown. The draped gown is actually another Padme cosplay and is similar to the nightgown, but the bodice shape is different and there are no beads and japor pendant. (Why any woman would voluntarily go to bed in a dress with a buttload of beads on it is beyond me.)
