When we got our ceilings redone the people who did it put up the plaster board and then shot a combination of tiny foam balls and plaster at our ceiling to give it texture. It looked like cottage cheese being shot out of an air gun. That's why whenever anyone asks me what's up when I'm home I answer cottage cheese.
Edit Of course we only needed our ceilings redone because they left nothing but tarps on our roof and they blew off during a huge storm that blew through. That time has since been known as the great flood. sweatdrop
