The original idea for Dear Diary was a Battle of the Bands rp, where a bunch of students at this school got together and formed bands, then competed at a competition. It evolved a lot early on in the RP into more of a "Day In The Life" RP, where we were focused on the characters daily lives and relationships. The initial band we had formed broke up relatively soon in the story because of all the drama we were cooking up, and the characters have been picking up the pieces ever since. There are a lot of grudges and resentments being held between characters. Different students have "transferred out" as our members left the guild or decided to opt out of the RP.
I would obviously suggest you read the character bios, but here's a basic layout of what happened in the story so far:
Adam & Kat [wealthy twins] had their family pay for an expensive suite in the school's dorms. Xander and Andy were made roommates in the room next to Rikka and Gwen. I don't exactly remember the circumstances, but Adam came by their rooms as they were all getting to known each other and they became friends. Adam then got his family to reconstructs the adjacent dorms into one large suite so the 4 friends could live together, and they formed a band.
After a month or so, Rikka's strong personality and Adam's need to be in charge clashed, and they came to an argument that had Rikka leaving because she wanted more say in their music direction and didn't feel like she was being heard. Because Gwen was Rikka's friend, she went along with her, and because Xander and Adam had started dating, he tried to stick on Adam's side. The band had been set to play at the twins' birthday gala, but because of the split, Adam told them not to show. Xander convinced Rikka and Gwen to come play at the event anyway in an attempt to get Adam to see what he was missing so they could all get back together, but it just made things worse.
Meanwhile, Kat and her friend Lance had a total awkward best friend on-again off-again thing going on, and Adam's good friend, Corey, started dating Rikka.
Also, because this RP is taking place in the same world as the main rp, we had a small cross-over event for this party.
Adam & Kat are Luciano's cousins(?) and so he and the guild was invited. Towards the end of the party, the Gaia Police Department showed up to arrest the guild members after a detective dug up dirt on everyone and managed to get them thrown into prison (but all that's part of the main RP so I won't go into anything else).
Adam spiraled after the events at the party and got a bit distant. The band never got back together, and then some more of the Brozen family ended up transferring to the school and causing problems.
Rikka decided after her brother, Skotti, was taken in with the rest of the gang to become a night-watch vigilante to keep the streets safe while her brother couldn't. Little did she know, Lance was also a vigilante who watched over the streets at night. This led to a bit of rivalry between the two, though neither knew the other's real identity. Meanwhile, Rikka started up her own band with a couple of friends Jill and Ronnie(?). They're relatively minor characters, but were introduced as her friends and bandmates.
Back at school, Adam met a new student, Raine, who he instantly was infatuated with. She had an asshat boyfriend that always caused problems, and even though Adam and Xander were still involved, Adam constinued to hand around her and try to push her awful boyfriend away. There were plenty of confilicting feelings between Raine and Adam, neither one wanting to accept the other ones feelings because they were both in relationships. Xander was sulking and being silently jealous because he could tell that Adam was falling for her.
The whole thing climaxed in a fight between her boyfriend and Adam where he knocked him out and maybe(?) broke his nose (I can't remember). Xander got freaked out, not only by the amount of anger in Adam, but also by how much he was now committed to Raine.
By then, I believe Andy (Xander's roommate if you forgot, he wasn't a very active character) had transferred out of school. [Jay revealed him to be related to Sabe in the main rp and there was weird family stuff they he needed to take care of so Andy dropped out I think?]
Not too long after the fight, Raine transferred schools, and the new semester started. Chloe, Xander's best friend and the lead tattoo artist of a shop in Durem, was introduced. Relatively unused character again, but she makes appearances whenever Xander needs moral support or relationship advice.
When the new semester started, Skotti took a leave of absence from Gaia, so he had all of his characters abducted for some super secret mission. Corey was heartbroken that his girlfriend just up and vanished with no warning, Adam and Xander were trying to pick up the pieces and get back into a normal relationship, and Andy was just gone. Altogether is just ended any hope of getting the band together again.
Another semester went by and I'm not too clear on the details because our timelines are a bit thrown off. Kat and Lance ended up getting in a fight, Adam saw and rushed in to help his sister and in a fit of rage (and acting on his vigilante instincts) Lance turned around and punched Adam in the face, breaking his nose and ruining any relationship he had with Kat.
At the start of the next semester, the school tried to fill the empty male room left by Andy, only to find out that they had combined the dorms. Being that Xander was the only male, they re-assigned him and made it into an all girl suite. They replaced Rikka's room since she was missing, and Gwen was left as the only original tenant of the suite Adam had built. Xander was made roommates with one of Skotti's new characters, Reve, a hair stylist.
After having his nose broken, Adam started to become addicted to the painkillers he was prescribed. In addition to his already short temper and alcohol problem, this made things start to get bad for all of his relationships.
Over the summer break between semesters, Xander had stayed with Chloe to get some extra money through tattooing, and he met some of the other tattoo artists, Donnie and Quinn.
Rikka came back to school and tried to re-assimilate with her old friends but everyone seemed really distant with each other now. She got back together with Corey, and things were going well, but a girl he had met while Rikka was gone had started getting feeling for him. She invited him to one of her performances, and she kissed him, which made Corey feel awful about leading her on and letting it happen when he knew he felt so strongly for Rikka.
Meanwhile, Quinn & Donnie started hanging out with Xander on campus more, now that they knew each other. Quinn, though he was still hiding his sexuality from his best friends, had grown a crush on Xander, which led to a similar situation as the one with Corey.
When Adam found out that Quinn had come on to Xander, he started a fight while hopped up on painkillers and gave Quinn a serious beating. Quinn (being a culinary student) grabbed one of his chefs knives to protect himself and wounded Adam pretty badly. Adam was in the infirmary for a few weeks, Quinn was in the infirmary for a little over a month.

And that pretty much catches you up to the past 5 pages or so. If you keep most of that in mind while reading back a few pages, it should be at least a little bit clear as to what's what.

Also, there was another attempt at a battle of the bands in there. We all created entire band groups to compete and picked songs/artists to theme their sound on, but the guild went into a state of inactivity and we never really got anywhere with it, so we time-skipped past it.
