Yeah, I was considering what to do if I fought Athan in the first match vs. Mythos. I ended up fighting Kael but it doesn't mean that I didn't already have a strategy for making up the 6+' difference in our striking distances.

Not a whole lot else to do with a character that has limited/no ranged abilities. Sure, chucking tomahawks is great.. but throwing them at someone's face is usually a surefire way to kill them. So that was a no-go. Getting up close was about the only thing I could think of that would of been both interesting and viable in any sort of way.

But in any case, Crawley ought to continue fighting. It's not like he's at a point where there's absolutely nothing he can do. I'd rather the fights go a little further forward, at least.

EDIT:: It's not like you can't adapt, Crawley. You can't expect things to stay static, especially in roleplay. But most characters are versatile and adaptable enough to continue being used with very little changes to their playstyle.

Maybe you ought to talk to PG then.

RP fighting has moved on without you because the MMA/grappling fad has died down a bit. Most people here by now have realized that grappling, while effective, is a huge ******** headache the majority of the time and it prevents them from playing their character the way that they want to play them. They're not gonna start it, and usually they'll try to avoid getting into it with the people who thrive on UFC and WWE, which kinda leaves the 'unarmed, unarmored, half-naked, ready to joint lock you into a puddle of jelly' archetype standing there holding the bag.

It's not like you're ineffective, it's just that you're highly situational and sometimes it's just not going to work for you. At that point you either lose or you do something else.

You just don't seem to want to do anything else.
