She shuffled to take a seat besdie Serenity, folding the back of her robes close to her legs so she would be sitting on them when she sat down.
"Okay," she murmured quietly, she wondered if she touched upon something she shouldn't have.

Serenity felt Kara sitting beside her and smiled. "Just a few minutes," she murmured. "No longer ..."
And then she felt something odd in the silence, a strange tension. She cracked one eye open and looked up at Kara. "You all right?" she asked with concern.

"Hmm...?" Kara mused broken in thought, "I'm fine," she replied back hugging her knees, it made her look small. Like she wasn't already small enough.

Serenity smiled. "All right, then," she murmured softly, barely audibly, closing both her eyes once again. Within moments, her breathing had lightened, and she was asleep.
Not a deep sleep, just a light sleep to regain some energy. Even with all the traveling she did, walking for the greater part of a day without stopping, without breaking really, except for a quick lunch, did still tire her out a bit. It wouldn't last long; soon she would be ready for the trip back to the houses.

Kara rested her head on her knees wrapping her wings around her body, and since her body was small it let her wings cover a great deal of her. Perhaps there was a reason why she was so short in the first place, she wondered if there were angels shorter than her.
She listened to the sounds of breathing, napping.

The sleep of the watchful is always light, and Serenity's case was no different. So when a cloud covered the sun, she was immediately wide awake and ready for danger - though thankfully there was none this time.
Still, she would not be able to fall asleep again. She stretched her arms, well aware that she had only slept a few minutes, but feeling fine, and looked up to the sky, when she noticed that the cloud that had blocked the sun was actually many clouds ... and they were dark.
"Er," she murmured hesitantly to Kara, "I think ... we'd better get back now."

One wing lifted above Kara's head as she peered out from under her wings, that's what she liked about having them now. She could use them for shade and they were white so they didn't get that hot.
"It looks like it's going to rain," she murmured stretching them out behind her.

"Storm, actually," Serenity replied, jumping to her feet. "The air has a metallic taste to it. It's going to be another nasty one ..."
She turned her back to Kara and changed into a roc, the same golden bird she had been to give Kara a ride the last time - though Kara had only been half conscious and may not remember.

Kara moved towards Serenity looking up the sky worriedly, "Donovan said it was really bad the storm from last time," she told Serenity, "I don't remember it though, I think I was asleep for most of it."
Then again she hadn't seen bird like Serenity and couldn't help but run her fingers through the feathers. Even though they had bigger worries at the moment.

As a roc, Serenity was incapable of speech, but she nodded her huge head and spread her wings, then looked back at Kara as if asking if she was ready.

Kara carefully crawled on, not wanting to cause any discomfort and nodded back at Serenity to say she was ready. Folding her wings close to her back so they wouldn't catch wind otherwise it might be more difficult.

Serenity faced forward once again and spread her wings further, then launched herself into the air. She could feel the turbulence now, and she did her best to make sure that Kara didn't feel it. The problem was, they were heading directly into the storm - but with a little luck, they would be able to make it back before the storm hit. Such were her thoughts as they went, the wind blowing over and beneath them.

Some of her feathers felt like they were sticking on end, or it was perhaps the few instinctive parts of her telling her that the storm was indeed going to be bad. She held fast and close to Serenity's form hearing the wind whistle pass.

Despite the time it had taken them to walk those miles, it wasn't long before the house was in view once again. Serenity swooped down gratefully as the first lightning struck, only about a mile away, followed by a short crack of thunder. Yes ... like most storms in this area, it would be centered on the valley. While the mountains kept many unwanted people and things out of the valley, they also made for some strange weather patterns.
It had grown dark by this time - quite dark in fact, due not only to the coming storm but also the approach of night - and Serenity landed right in front of Ulani and Ulrich's house and lowered herself to the ground to let Kara off.

She slid off her toes touching the ground as she side stepped away to give Serenity more room. Checking the clouds above them, she had never seen a storm come that quickly before, then again it could be just because it was also getting dark.
Though she hoped it wouldn't thunder, she wasn't sure if the little ones were scared of it or not.
