Isiah set the can down, setting his hands onto the ground to lift his rump and scoot toward the boy, leaning back against the duffle bag in his sitting position, pulling Tsurai's head up to rest against his shoulder. "I'll go slower, okay?" He set his jaw, lifting the can to Tsurai's lips again. "Just a little at a time.."

The boy was too tired to argue, and too lame to repute. When the soup was poured down his throat again, Tsurai didn't want to swallow it, was getting really tired of trying to, anyway.
But deep down he knew he had to live despite how useless felt right now, and that he had been through worse. If a guy could go through life killing his own daughter and girlfriend without killing himself, he could definately live through some stupid stint like this.
Tsurai regretfully swallowed, but then started coughing again. "... Stop.." he pleaded, the word more of a groan than anything in english.
He wasn't sure if it was because he still wanted to die or if he was fessing up that he was too tired to swallow anymore, but he needed to rest again.
He was an earthworm in the sun that was baking, and was getting too tired of trying to dig fast enough.

Isiah sighed, stroking Tsurai's hair idly, the youth's head against his bare shoulder, his face a blank canvas as he tried to drink in the pain Tsurai was going through. He let the can fall to rest on his lap, laying his head on top of Tsurai's, pushing Tsurai's hair out of his face.
"You gotta fight this, kid. You've come too far, and worked too hard, to give in now. You know that."
He shut his eyes, breathing in Tsurai's scent deeply, the heartache increasing with each beat. "Okay?"

Tsurai kept drifting in and out of conciousness, his mind wandering from time to time when he was awake, since his mind was one of the only things he really wanted to keep working with, despite being tired.
Isiah had divided the cans into two seperate catergories: Solids and liquids. He was eating the solid things himself until Tsurai managed to not choke on liquids. Tsurai was kept on the broth whenever he was awake, and Isiah just ate whenever he felt like it.
By the time a week went by, Tsurai was strong enough to do basically everything but stand. Although, he didn't do it because he was too depressed to. He gave some small amounts of advice to Isiah about the stab wound, and not moving, but otherwise, pretty much said nothing, and was still only on liquids.
As the second week started, all that was left were solids, so Tsurai was forced to try and chew. Still extremely depressed about more thoughts of asking Braeden for help, and not eating when he had the chance the first time around kept him from eating as much as Isiah would have liked.
When the second week had finished, Tsurai could stand and take a few steps before becoming too tired to do anything, and his mood was improving now that hope was actually getting him somewhere. However, they had run out of food altogether.
Isiah still had the stab wound to take care of, so was in no condition to try and fight for more food, and would probably not wear into eating peoplejerky.
Tsurai, on the otherhand, was sitting up, idly drawing nothings in the sand and rubble below him. It had become a habit.
"I don't suppose you'd let it get burned shut, huh?" Tsurai mused lightly, all his hair to one side of his face.
"Cause then you'd have some huge white scar instead of whatever tattoo is there."
Tsurai rubbed out his drawing. "So it seems we're screwed either way." Tsurai sighed and let himself fall on his side, closing his eyes.
This pessimistic attitude was either rubbing off on Isiah or making him angry. Tsurai couldn't tell, and didn't really care either way.

Isiah sighed, lifting his arm painfully to glance down at the wound to see if there were indeed, tattoos in the place in question. He grunted. "I don't care. If you can burn it shut and get me back on my feet, then let's do it."
Isiah was beginning to be worn down not only from the lack of food but from the seemingly extremely slow pace of Tsurai's recovery. He couldn't stand it. He was tired of living in this world, too, this cruel, unforgiving place. Tsurai had made one too many mistakes- but Isiah didn't think he was old enough to have to pay for them..
Isiah ran his eyes over the rest of the encampment, trying to find someone who may have food that they'd be willing to offer- or, at least, would be willing to offer after he brandished his fists.
He knew that wouldn't work, in the long run. He was injured, and outnumbered, and Braeden would probably take any chance he could get to get the townspeople to gang up on him. Going back to where they had met Alex was seeming more attractive by the day.
"I wonder if we'll be able to tell when the seasons change.."

Tsurai started to draw a circle where he laid, although since he was laying on the arm he was using, it wasn't too comfortable.
Seemingly out of nowhere, a sneaker slammed down on his hand. Not enough to break any bones, but it still hurt.
"What the hell do you think-" Tsurai looked up.
Speak of the Devil.
She even had a duffelbag of her own, over her shoulder. "I finally figured out where you went, you little monkey!" Alex smiled, then said in a softer tone, "Although I suppose being the only healer in the other town didn't help my information gathering. Hrm."
Tsurai rolled on his back, yanking his hand free from Alex's foot.
"So I see you're bonier than ever. Not eating again, huh?" Alex mused. "You know that's bad for you. With how far you push yourself, you could be an invalid real soon."
"That already happened." Tsurai grumbled.
"So I see." She looked over to Tsurai and Isiah's duffelbag, now looking painfully empty. "And ya ran out of food trying to move again, huh? And I also guess that's why you haven't moved, either. You were only with me for what? Two days? But I suppose the double murder didn't help any."
"Shut up," Tsurai rolled back on his side and closed his eyes. "Go away."
"Hmph!" Alex kicked Tsurai in the stomach. "That's no way to treat someone who's gonna help you!"
Tsurai started coughing, rolling back onto his back again and clutching his stomach, bringing his legs up, and slowly sitting up.
"Then help Isiah.." He had to stop in between to try and regain his breath through all the coughing he was doing ".. First..!"
Alex dropped her duffelbag right next to Tsurai's lithe form and walked over to Isiah. "The Denzien? I don't see what you see in him," Alex stated with a huff, crouching next to Isiah. "And what happened to you." She mocked, touching the jacket's knot.
"Looks like this poor baby got caught in his first knife fight." She laughed to herself, trying to undo the knot.

Isiah grunted, helping her undo the knot. "Yeah, a little bit of one.. More like a, knife-pulled-on-me, fight." He peeled the blood-sticky jacket away from his skin, silently wishing for extra water to wash his clothes in.. maybe.. next time it rained..
"You walked all the way here by yourself?" He was impressed but struggled not to show it. He didn't think any woman could have made a trip that was so difficult for him, in one go, with no help.

"Of course I got here by walking. How else would I get here? Car? You make me sick. I'm only helping you because Tsurai wants it, so don't get any ideas, Denzien." Alex growled it. It was clear she didn't like Isiah at all.
Pulling the jacket away, she looked at the wound, some new blood seeping out.
"Well, I'm surprized it didn't get infected by that dirty jacket.. Maybe because you kept moving the blood pushed it out." She said to herself, walking over to her own bag and grabbing things.
Mainly, alcohol and a lighter. And a towel.
Carrying them all over to Isiah, she started dripping the alcohol on the towel, but then decided against it, wanting the Denzien to suffer as much as possible. So she just poured the liquor on the bleeding flesh, frowning the whole time.
She didn't like using her supplies for this person.
Regardless, she got the lighter and produced a flame from it. "Suck it in, Denzien," she grumbled, lying the flame down on the alcohol, the tattooed man's skin quickly blistering over with a burn.
The flame shot up too much for Alex, and her hand was burned. She dropped the lighter and growled at herself.
A few small shakes of her now-blistered hand later, she picked up the lighter and sealed up everything, putting it back in her duffelbag, wincing at how loud the Denzien screamed.

Scream was an overstatement- Isiah clenched his teeth, jaw set hard, roaring with pain through his shut maw, lip curled upward in a snarl, eyes shut tightly. He panted after the flaming had stopped, tears heating the corners of his eyes, each exhalation released with a quiet growl, shoulders tense, moving minutely with each haggard breath. "********' b***h.." He muttered, teeth still clenched. "God damn.."
He was NOT terribly fond of Alex right now. Especially since he had been saving Tsurai's a** since day one- she hardly had seniority over him.. Oh, ********, you're jealous of her too?! He grumbled to himself inwardly as his breath leveled.

Alex kicked a bunch of empty cans away from her duffelbag before she knelt to put all of her stuff back in her own.
"Did you eat today, Tsurai?" she asked nonchalantly while taking out some of her own jerky. "I bought this-" She turned to see Tsurai making no comments or movements. She growled stubbornly and shouted, "Are you ignoring me?!"
The boy rolled on his stomach, putting his face in his arm with a groan. "I'm not eating anything you made. You neglected to mention partial paralysis last time you gave me something, remember?"
Alex hmphed. "It didn't come up in the conversation." She threw the jerky at his back. "It isn't made from people, if that's what you're worried about."
Tsurai reached behind him and took the jerky from his back and rolled over so he could look at it in distate. "I really don't think-" But by that time, Alex had walked over to him and started shoving the jerky in Tsurai's mouth. "Nonsense!" she proclaimed, forcing Tsurai to swallow the small piece whole.
He ended up choking on it, and after some coughing, and Alex patting his back, it went all the way down.
As soon as Tsurai had recovered, he jumped up and yelled at her. "What the hell was that for?! I would've eaten it eventually!"
Alex hmped and yanked on the boy's dogtags. "Feel any different?" She mused.
Tsurai frowned, eyes narrowing. "Less tired," he said monotonously. "What'd you do to it?"
Alex yanked on Tsurai's dogtags again before the boy could slap her hand away. "Well it should make other parts of you 'less tired', too. Although it's just an.." she sighed, shrugging, "undesirable side effect."
The DuPloy grabbed Alex's arm and pulled her close to him, catching Alex off balance. "I don't know why I ever trust you with anything!" He was pissed. "What did you do?!"
Alex gently pushed Tsurai off her. "Give it a minute or two. You'll figure it out."
"Isiah!" Tsurai whined, "Do something..!"
Alex laughed; it still hadn't happened yet. But watching Tsurai be confused was amusing. "Man, the rumors are true. That Denzien really is your adoptive mom."

Isiah grunted, looking up to Alex. He wasn't quite sure he'd be able to push himself onto his feet just yet. "What's in it, caffiene? Or are you so ********' desperate you put in a pheromone?" He mused inwardly that it seemed nearly impossible anyone would have access to that s**t.. but Cyrus did, so, presumably...
His eyes were still misty from the intense pain of the burn, grinding his teeth, so his expression was hard to read. Harder than usual.

"I'm not desperate!" Alex shot back, watching Tsurai.
Tsurai turned back to Alex, his face turning red. "You idiot! That's exactly what you did!" He was embarrassed because now he was beginning to get... Well, he was beginning to see Alex as more attractive.
He grabbed the collar of her shirt and started shaking her. "Why do you do this?! Why do I ever trust you with anything!? You don't have any respect for-" Alex turned and punched the inside of Tsurai's elbow at that point, forcing The boy to let go of her.
"It's been two years Tsurai, get over it." The blonde-haired, blue eyed nineteen year old took out a milk carton while Tsurai was stuck, glaring at her. "drink some of this," The blonde offered, taking the cap off.
"There's no way in hell I would," Tsurai reputed.
Alex wasn't listening to him, though, and had started to drink some of it, herself. Tsurai hadn't noticed, but she didn't swallow what was in her mouth when she put th e conatiner down and walked closer to him.
"What the hell are you --mmfrh" And at that point Alex had her hands deeply massaging Tsurai's throat, so he'd be forced to swallow what she transferred from her mouth when she kissed him.
Tsurai managed to push her away after one swallowful, coughing and choking as he fell over from losing his ******** christ.." He grumbled, his vision beginning to blur. "Way to kick a guy when he's down."
Alex smiled as she wiped her mouth, kicking Tsurai lightly just for show. "Isn't that the whole point?"

Isiah should have been angry, but instead he laughed, shaking his head back and forth slowly. "I don't know WHAT the ******** is going on anymore.." He leaned his head downward into his palm, pushing his hand upward over his face and into his hair, combing back thick dirty strands. "Alex, if HE doesn't go psycho and kick your a** in about ten seconds, I'm going to be dually amazed and mystified."

Tsurai was surprized at Isiah's laughing. He had figured Isiah would help him. The eighteen year old felt so.. He didn't know what he felt, aside from horny, but it wasn't good and he didn't like one of his only.. Well, his only friend laughing at him.
Alex Walked over to Isiah, hands on her hips. She stayed a safe distance away from his body, but was close enough to bend over and look him in the eyes with an evil smile. "He won't. This stuff's special. Unlike you, I know exactly what drugs set him off and what calms him down. While he might've gotten an energy boost for the first few seconds, he's practically helpless and doesn't care about it right now. Or will be in a few minutes." Alex stood up straight and scratched the back of her head.
"You know I can't recall if Tsurai will remember any of this when I'm done, but I do know he'll be concious enough to do most of the work for himself."
Tsurai offset Alex's good mood with another cough and a groan. A quick look over to the boy ensued before she laid her eyes back on the Denzien. "Pity he and I aren't in a private place." She shrugged. "Oh well."

Isiah quirked an eyebrow. "Trust me, sweetheart. You spread your legs and I'll treat it like a rape. I'm hurt but I got more than enough left in me to break your back." He leaned over with a groan, pushing himself up from the ground with his hand, wiping dirt off of his posterior.
He wasn't sure just how brazen she was, or if she was serious. To be frank, Tsurai DID feel like 'the daughter' he had to protect on prom night. And he'd keep Alex the hell away from his precious virgin flower, by force if necessary.
There wasn't enough strength to stand up straight- he spread his feet so he'd have more balance, but did so slowly and nonchalantly.
