Sakeme was getting rather bored with sittinga lone. Well, not really alobe, but with an unconcious Hyuuga at her side. Truth was, to her, being is a hospital was somewhat depressing. It was not a place she felt at home. As bored as she was, she was willing to actually train... just so she could do something. She remembered r4eading about several different genjutsu that she found interesting. She remembered when she had just become a genin that she'd perferred the Taijutsu and such, but after a while... she'd gotten rather used to, and skilled with, genjutsu. The first one that came to mind was the shadow intimidation technique. It was a jutsu that engulfed the victim in complete darkness and showed them their worst fear... then the user of the jutsu could interrogate. She liked this... it made her feel somewhat, powerful? Thing was, as much as she wanted to try it out... there was no one to practice it on. As if answering her prayers, some cocky teenager came into her room, apparently looking for someone else but having no luck. The girl explained to him what she was hoping to do and asked if he'd be willing to assist her... to be her 'test subject'. At first he refused, and shyed away, but Sakeme wasn't going to give up this opportunity. With a smile she convinced the young villager to stay, and eventually he sat down and waited for her to try. Standing up, she closed her eyes and tried to remember what she read, and how to start the jutsu. Clapping her hands into a snake handseal, she began to focus her chakra... but when she opened her eyes again, the boy hadn't even flinched. Guess nothing happened then...

Sakeme tried again... placing her hands back into that familiar snake seal, hoping for the best. However, she seemed to be having trouble applying her chakra now. The boy before her looked around with unease, as if she had scared him for nothing, or... as if she was going to strike at any second and the longer it took her, the more stress and suspense would build. Of course those thing could make it easier for her to strike his mind, but she had to focus on what she was doing wrong at the moment, not at what could help her after she figured it out. Sighing, she folded her arms across her chest and pondered what could be wrong. The first thing that came to mind was that she was trying to learn a jutsu on her own, without sensei supervision or anything. ANother would be that this jutsu was, indeed, at a higher dificulty than the two genjutsu she learned before. The third was that she was distracted. She felt somewhat left out having to babysit the sleeping queen of the hyuuga. She;d feel much better sticking with Elruda... of course, that's partially because she has to keep the kid safe... She;d rather not get in trouble if the child gets hurt. With those options settled, it was now time to figure what the solutions to each of the problems were. A solution to option number one would be to find someone who knows the jutsu and ask for help. That would take too much time.

Option number two was that the jutsu she was trying to learn was harder than the other genjutsu she was used to learning. That was probable... The solution to that, however... well there really wasn't a solution. All she could think of was 'What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger'. This idea had truth to it, and that truth would drive her to victory... she hoped. Why the hell is he staring at me like that? Is he wanting me to just get this whole thing overwith? She couldn't help but notice, again, the guy's bewildered expression... It was slowly becomming confused however... in the sense of 'I-have-no-idea-why-I'm-here' type thoughts. Skaing her head in annoyance, she tried again. Hopefully she'd be able to do something and put the boy back in his place. Forming another snake seal, she closed her eyes and focused on the teen in front of her. Shadow Intimidation Jutsu! A gasp made her open her eyes in slight shock. However her getting distracted so suddenly dispelled what illusion she had almost created. Damn it... Looking over at him, she demanded that he tell her what he saw. Shaking slightly at her rude behavior, he explain the almost complete and utter darkness he was plunged into. This news calmed her some. That was a good start for her jutsu, however that wasn't the entireity of what was supposed to happen. If he had seen it all... he'd be urled into aball on the floor, screaming for his mommy. She hoped to make it to that point soon... though she didn't want to have to explain to anyone what she was doing... She'd probably get kicked out of the hospital for sure...

The last thing Hitomi remembered was Gig screwing with her morphine. She could feel that her eyes were open, because she was fighting to keep them that way. She could feel the pull at her stomach... Where they had cut her open... She felt... Hollow... She was back in her original room. She tried to pull herself up, but she was too tired. She was having flashbacks to her amputation.

Marcus sat there silently for a moment. He was glancing back to Zephyr and his face had become uncharacteristically cold. He picked up the young Hyuuga and placed her on his shoulder and began to stroke her legs a bit. It was more for his own comfort than anything although it would look like a sign of affection. Either way, he didn’t mind as it was kind of both. His voice began to come out but he stopped himself. He stood for a moment then tried again.
It dripped with venom, “Don’t push such an issue. If he wants to tell you, he will. But none of you deserve to know a damn thing just like we don’t deserve to know anything here in Iwa. This is a man who’s given his all to help out and, sure he may not have done what you wanted, but he did his own thing. He didn’t turn down this huge responsibility of being a Kage and yet you expect more of him. The only one among your crew that has any right to ask for his story is this child’s mother as both her and Zephyr are the only ones here that can truly understand extream pain and having to work through that to take on a responsibility that would crush even people with perfectly well adjusted lives and childhoods.”
He took a breath and placed the girl on the bed. He slowly stood and looked to Zephyr, “I need not know your story Zephyr for it doesn’t matter to me. Whether you are some sort of monster or perfectly human, you are Zephyr. The only one I’ve ever known and that is enough for me. Knowing your true origins will not change who you are today.” His glance then began to look to the others in the room other than the child, “And if you call yourselves changing your views of this man simply because his history is different than you expected, I would like to request you leave Iwagakure the moment you notice that. We of Iwa may be stubborn but we are also stubborn about changing our views. If we believe you to be a friend, your past will not change that. Zephyr will always have a bottle of sake waiting for him as long as I am Tsuchikage.” His words were cold… he had been through something similar it was sure but no one would know. He’d tell no one.
Turnning, he blew past the others with no word and left the hospital.

Grateful for the diversion from having to tell his painful past, and surprised too at Marcus' declaration, a rueful smile crossed his face. "Arigatou, Marcus." And to Ayame and Shikamori, the Senju king addressed them with quiet sincerety: "I know that. I can't hide behind that childish illusion forever... In Konoha, there's more than enough evidence lying around...one day, certainly...there will be someone to put two and two together... Yet I'm already grateful......that for so long I was able to live in peace. But when I'm ready...one day perhaps...I will tell it." A pause. "I don't know if I would tell it to Konoha anytime soon...but to my two dearest pupils...it's the least I could repay them..."
"...for abandoning them years ago..."
"And should I ever tell it to the village...what Konoha's people thinks of me afterwards is at their own discretion. Facts do not change but opinions are at the mercy of discretion." To the child with her curious, yet sincere unwavering gaze on him... "And you, Elda-chiisai-hime...I can't tell it to you now, not to a child purer than the freshly fallen snow..." Of a past stained crimson with blood...
Elruda stepped up on the bed, and trodding over, she bent down and poked Zephyr on the forehead. A beaming smile crossed her face. "Promise? When Elda grows big???" A pause, and the child seems thoughtful. "It's ok. Elda will wait. Elda doesn't find jii-chan dirty, just his eyes are a funny colour...but Elda's is a funny color too...so Elda shouldn't talk."
"Elda wants jii-chan to take her to the festival! Piggy-back ride? Promise?" Zephyr grinned, his usual wide happy one. "Alright, alright. Whatever the chiisai-hime (little princess) wish." He sat on the edge of the bed, waiting for the child to wrap her small arms around his neck, holding his arms back, before lifting her up. The child was feather-light... As if something as fragile and breakable as porcelain... His mind distantly noted as the child gently placed her head against his neck.
"Ayame-san, Shika. You should find Yokou too and come to the festival..." A soft grin. "Iwa's annual Winter Festival would be most enchanting...like our village's Sakura Festival... If the weather permits, it'll be a snow-white world...ending this year..." A year stained dark with tragedy.

Ayame returned to the other room, and knocked gently once on the door and waited. No response. So she opened the door anyways. The Hyuuga teen looked surprised to see someone else was in there besides Lady Yokou...her gaze cast curiously to the head of family, fast asleep on the patient's bed. But if this child had kept watch over Lady Yokou as she slept...then she must show respect. The young Jounin drew into an elegant sweeping formal bow, her upswept long raven ponytails almost seeming to touch the ground. She held this position for a few moments before regaining her normal posture with grace. Her voice kept carefully low and polite, Ayame graced the child with a small smile, delivering her message. "Excuse me...I shall take over watching Yokou-sama now. Zephyr-sama and Elruda-sama are heading to the Winter Festival..."
The door opened and Shikamori came in, curiously following his junior. "Shikamori-sama is heading there too and will take you to them. Right?" Out of the corner of her eyes, she shot the Nara a glare, threatening him to refuse. Shikamori muttered something that sounded like 'how troublesome'. He didn't really like watching over kids... Elruda was quite independent and didn't need any watching, Museifu's son Akeru...with his demure and polite mannerism was endurable...Roy too was an exception, Ryoko's son really was something and could take care of himself just fine...hn...'bout this stranger child?
Fine, fine. He'll do it. "Yes, ma'am." The Nara said finally, consenting.

Sakeme looked up. As soon as two people she didn't know came in, the boy she was playing with bolted for the door. Apparently, though she'd gotten close twice, the kid couldn't take it. Sakeme frowned in dissapproval at this. People are so weak... Getting up from her seat, she nodded and bowed. Atleast I don't have to babysit anymore, but what about this guy...? Is he gonna be watching me? She looked over at the one they called Shika. Walking over to him, she waited for him to lead the way. Now I can find Elruda... perhaps her and I can do stuff at the festival? Pondering this, she would follow him out.

Its was a bit later in the day or rather, night before there was any sign of life within the silent room. Yokou was asleep still by his reconing but that was fine. Silent knocks began to come upon the window of Yokou's room. This would be easily ignored as some sort of odd noise since they were on the 20th floor of the hospital.
Again the knocking came. There was someone at the window...

Ayame had briefly left, to buy something for herself and later, for the head of family when she awakens, to eat. So Yokou was currently sleeping alone in the room. Pale eyes opened slowly, and she sat up groggily. What in the world happened...? She wondered (reference: yes, induced amnesia xD). "Knocking...?" Yokou murmured to herself, rubbing her eyes. So she got up and went to the door, and opened it.
"..." Nobody was there? Ok, this was really weird. And for some reason, her mind wandered to a particular piece of poetry: the Raven. Oh who comes a-tapping, who comes a-rapping, at my chamber door...? A voice in her head helpfully provided. Yokou silenced it, ruthlessly. Wait a minute...don't tell her...
The rapping was coming from the window...
So Yokou drew back the curtains, and opened the window... Only that it wasn't a small black bird there but...

...A large black horse with bird wings. To be exact, it was a solid black pegasus with a man drapped in red pants and a green shirt, both trimmed in white. He had on a hate of red with the Iwagakure symbol embroidered on the back. Laying back upon the horse, the man continued to tap on the window till he noticed there was nothing to tap on. He glanced over and smiled to the woman there.
A spring to his movements was seen as he sat up and smiled, "'ello sleeping beauty. Thy prince hath come to release thineself from thy prison of sterilization and probation. I offer mine hand to thy so that away we may flee to festivities that hath begun."
"Baka...." Pegasus said as he shook his head.
"Hay, cut me some slack would ya? I'm no good at this romantic crap." he mumbled to the horse, hoping the lady didn't hear him.
He glanced back up to Yokou and smiled, "So sleeping beauty, want to go for a ride with the devil?" He said as he stretched his hand out to hers to take it.

...Marcus. She should've known or at least guessed (initial expression: U_U).
Hey, at least there's black (Pegasus in reference to the Raven poem xD)... Her mind helpfully commented.
Again, Yokou squashed the inner voice. What was it supposed to be anyways, her conscience? If that was, it sure was annoying... She tilted her head slightly aside as she examined his strange outfit. Was he cosplaying...eh...that jolly old man with the reindeers whose name she currently doesn't remember...?
Her mind was unsettled, yet...yet...why then does her hand reach for his...?

Marcus would begin to gently help the lady from the window. As he did, she would be able to see the antlers on the head of Pegasus. "One word and I'll drop you..." was all he said...
Marcus just grinned and pulled her out a bit. There wasn't much room and it was a breeze at that hight so Marcus made sure to wrap her in a blanket he had. Due to the little room on Pegasus back (he had a back on his back as well) Marcus had to carry Yokou in his lap. In the wrong light, it would actually look like a knight carrying his lady upon a galliant horse.
They sailed the sky's of Iwa, not going to the town square at, least not yet.
"From the back of Pegasus and Sliphnir, I've seen all the major villages in a way that no one else ever has. Even the highest jumping Shinobi hasn't seen the world like I've seen it. I've been to places you've probably never even heard of before. Maybe... I'll get a chance to steal you away and take you some day..." He said smiling to her as he showed her around the village from a birds eye view.
