"This is true, but as brotherhood soldiers such reckless actions would be best avoided. What if they have advanced technology? It would be better if we could save such things, rather then blow them up. And what if one were to catch you or accidently bump into you? It would be much less risky to engage them from a distance. Also, how do we know they aren't Nightkin? They could have stealth boys just as you do. What then?" Says Chib, sitting shotgun. Shifting his eyes from the road to the passenger window, his eyes flick across the desert landscape.

Fina smirked a bit. "Then I guess we're on a doomed mission. Super mutants are tough enough without stealthboys to help them. But about that technology bit, I was thinking more survival first, then salvage." She glanced over to Chib for a moment before looking forward again. "And with that thought, you might want to switch on your infrared if you've got it and check it every now and then, just incase we happen to be driving right into a trap."
She did think he had a point about her getting up close to one of them, but the truth was she didn't really have any good long distance weapons to fight with at the moment. "I'm not really very well equipped. All I got to fight from a distance with that might hurt those Super Mutants very well is this grenade pistol, and i've only got one shot with it."

"I don't carry infrared." He answers simply. "Also, I'm just suggesting that we cross that bridge when we get there. Super mutants aren't very hard to handle... they're basically just deathclaws with gattling guns."

Fina merely turned her eyes, glancing towards Chib for a moment before back to the road. "Maybe you'd like to re-think that statement. Deathclaws are tough as hell too. Deathclaws with miniguns? Sure they might not be able to run as fast as a deathclaw, but they're definitely as tough as one. The only downside is they're big targets, but that's about where their disadvantages end. The ability to handle huge weapons with relative ease puts them at a serious advantage. I don't like the idea of being shredded along with whatever cover I decide to get behind."
Fina let out a sigh. She wasn't even trying to bother with her strange accent anymore. "Let's just hope we spot them first. We should assume that one of the towns might have gone ahead and countered a threat with 'we're under the brotherhoods protection' or something of that sort, and they might be expecting company."

((Feel free to post any time Xenos... Unless you want us moving to the Northern Wastes.))
Chib remains silent for a moment as he continues to look out the window. "I killed my first deathclaw back when I was still an initiate, I believe. I was working with Paladin Fenrir... this was back when the Brotherhood was still under the control of General Allectus... Mutants are usually stupid... that's their disadvantage. Strategy will get you a lot further then big guns or stealth boys alone. Remember that."

(((Alright, we all know I fell behind in this RP due to my vacation. Just fill me in and I'll start posting regularly. I apologize for my absence, but if you could just tell me what's happening, it would save me a lot of time and help me understand the RP better. Thanks, homez!)))

[Yeah, basically we're just chatting away in the Humvee...]
Fina nodded. "I understand this, and I am strategizing. When you get by stealing from people just to live before finding someplace to apply your talents, you get to thinking about worst case scenario's a lot before actually moving in. I believe for this mission it's two heavily armed and armored walking intelligent tanks of men that are expecting us with enough gear to tell where we are fairly easily. Anything to add to that picture?"
Fina continued along the path she'd originally planned for them to travel, always watching ahead and looking around the side. "Still, you're right, but let's just assume that at least one of them isn't a complete idiot. We'll have to see about the rest when we encounter them..."

Off to the right, a fire lay in the distance, roughly half a dozen miles out. It was in the rocks, and what looks like perhaps some rubble, maybe a building or two still standing. It would be possible that it was them, and any chance is better than none.

Chib spots the smoke quickly and nods towards it, effectively ending the conversation. "Looks like a fire in the distance. Your move, squad leader."

Fina looked toward Chib again as he nodded to the smoke, then took a more careful look in the same direction before he confirmed it. "It could be them. We should investigate, but not so loudly. Which means we'll have to leave the vehicle, atleast temporarily." She slowed to a stop, looking at the smoke and trying to judge it's distance. "Alrighty then. I'd say we park one mile away from the fire, then hike the rest of the way just to be sure we aren't heard. I'll scout ahead since sneakin's my specialty. I want our squad deathclaw coming up a bit away from me, on a bit of an opposing side, so that if I'm spotted, then you can charge in and surprise them. Chib, I'd like you to find a suitable position to snipe from with that nifty rifle of yers..." She looked to York. "York, I'd like you to come along with me, but not too closely. Stay to the shadows as much as you can, and, if you can avoid it, don't attack. However, if it looks like our plan's going sour, I want you to grenade their asses... Live soldiers are more useful equipment to the brotherhood than any tech these mutants might be carrying, but it'd be nice if we got our hands on it nonetheless. If it looks like you can get a good shot off without having to resort to grenades, use your rifle or your pistols."
She then glanced to each of the squad members as she continued. "Now, when I give the signal, i'd like you to lead the attack, Chib. Afterwards, I'll come out of hiding and try blasting one of our targets in the head. By the time we're in position Keebs will have likely found a spot on an opposing side from myself. If things go as planned, and I don't kill the second target with my shot, he'll have likely turned in my direction atleast in surprise... at most to try to kill me. Having drawn attention towards myself, i'll try to hide, and that's when keebs will run in and tear them up. Now, if neither of them are dead by this point, I'd like you to hang back, keebs. Two of them still alive will be too dangerous for you. So instead i'd like York to grenade them. If one's dead from our sniper, then I'd like you to back keebs up with your rifle or pistols, York."
She thought the plan over for a minute as she started the Humvee up again, starting closer to the smoke. She knew she didn't specify the exact positions, but leaving it up to them to find a suitable position for such things was acceptable, considering that they are specialists of their own fields. "How does that sound... Can you find any holes in that plan, Chib?"

"No... except that your making decisions again without having the full scope of the situation. It looks like there might be some buildings there, so they could be inside, which would definitely force the plan to be reevaluated. Or this could be a false alarm. The fire should be taken into consideration too, because it means that they could have some heavy weaponry... or there could be hazardous substances inside that building that are easily combustable. That would be my assessment, though you are the leader of this operation so I'll follow whatever orders you give."

York sat in the back seat of the humvee. He was silent for most of the ride, for he continuously thought of the task ahead and prepared himself for the future battle, rather than make small talk with his fellow Brotherhood warriors. Due to his being in deep thought, York paid very little attention to the conversation, and when he brought himself out of his state of meditation, it was as if he had just entered the vehicle-- he didn't know what had been said by Fina and Chib in their conversation.
York gazed out the window and looked for the super-mutants they were to slay. Up until then, York hadn't only ignored the conversation, but he had also neglected looking for the super-mutants. York saw no sign of the beasts.
"How far away are we? And have we decided on our tactics yet?" York asked suddenly, after listening to Chib. He probably sounded like a complete idiot, for he assumed Fina and Chib had already discussed both their distance and their tactics, but judging by what Chib just said, maybe they hadn't yet figured out what their strategy and tactics would be.

Fina nodded. "The fire could also mean they're just camping and cooking food, since they can't stay in any town after having threatened them and all. Remember, we're looking for outlaws here." She was paying more attention to what was infront of them rather than the people in the back of the vehicle. When york spoke up, she realized he was probably not paying attention when she spoke, which made her wonder if Keebs was also not paying attention. "We're about a mile away from what we assume is where our targets are."
"Regardless of being the squad leader, I realize i'm not the best at every field, like sniping or hand to hand combat, so i'd appreciate input from people who are actually more experienced in such things." That said, she turned to Chib, stopping the car. "We'll do this your way and come up with a plan on the spot. York and Keebs, follow Chib. Chib, you follow me from a distance, I'll be scouting ahead and signalling you when to move closer. Try to stay low and quiet and if this is our targets we'll try to get the jump on them." Parking the car and turning it off, she stepped out and started off in the direction of the fire, keeping her eyes open as she went...
