[Mooful's no postie = Laio's departure]

Laio shook her head with disgust. Now where had that male got to? She had dashed swiftly ahead, following the elphant tracks, eager to show the scarily large creatures to Kimbio, but now he was nowhere to be seen.

Shaking her head slightly, she danced lightly around on the spot, trying to seek her bearings. That was the way she was going before, was it not? She set off in a ground-eating trot in the early evening coolness, hoping to reach that landmark before the night was too far advanced.

[And Laio is out of Mistweaver. Au'voir! xd ]

Matakas paws pressed into the ground as she stared blankly ahead, that was it then, alone, doomed to a life of long boredom, and her history vanished. She sighed a little, her fur bristling against the lush green ground, she slid along on her stomach, her paws giving up and trailing behind her, she slid along some more, using her paws to push herself along, her tail almost falling into the river when she got too close, and she gave a small yelp of suprise, as she gazed over the edge of the grassy hill. One step and she would tumble down! She clung to the edge and backed away, her heart still hammering at the unpleasent suprise.

-One tiny paw was set upon the ground as she slithered her way across the ground, slipping behind rocks and bushes whenever she came across them. Her tail flicked a little as she went along, head poking out from behind one of the bushes she had crawled into. A sly grin fell upon her face as she crawled up a rock, small ears perked foward. What a lovely place this was! Nothing to get excited about though... It was.. Just another land...-A sigh was emitted from her mouth as she laid down, head resting upon her paws.. How she needed a good rest... Especially with all the walking the mongoose, Vodei, had been doing lately..-

-The sound of singing soon reached the ears of the pitete creature. Her head was raised up high as she scammpered from her place upon the rock, stretching her limbs out before she began down the path inwhich the singing was supposedly coming from.
Her oakish colored coat glittered as light shined upon her. Her paws left imprints upon the ground as she dashed... She had to find whoever it was that was making those wonderful sounds! It was so.... so nice!-

-Vodei paused for a moment, sitting up straight and fixing the few hairs atop her head that were sticking up.-"Now then.. Let's see.... where..... is....it coming from?"-The mongoose whispered to herself, legs shuffling a little as she began to pad once again..-

Maji paused in his work, tilting his head to one side to study the marks he had made upon the rock. He was improving by leaps and bounds in his writing. It was hard to really know how well he was doing- the only way he could check and correct himself on how neatly he had managed to write was by looking up at the already existent markings from lions before him. They were pretty close. He had been writing his name, over and over again. Drawing himself as best as he could based on his reflections, and making small notes about his days on various slabs of bark or rock that he would find on his daily rounds around his home. With a contented nod he placed the rock flat on the ground to allow it to dry without running. With that he turned and began back for the main living area. He continued singing sweetly, looking at the walls as he walked by. They were fascinating- each and every one.

Each wall had another story, another generation, another time recorded on it. These walls held the clues for him to unlock who he was. He had gone through many –but not all- of the winding halls looking over the various markings upon them. From what he could tell, there were only a few that had been recorded that looked remotely like him. He figured that the older looking records were from generations further back in his line. The males always had white manes – or close to white – and markings on their bodies. They had similar colors on their pelts though the grays would range from blue to true gray to green. There were even some that looked grayish brown but to any effect they had gray. Gray and white- like the sky. Green meant a terrible storm, blue meant rain, brown meant sun raise or set, and gray was simply overcast. The rains were very much a part of this culture. Water was life. Without it nothing could grow for the animals to eat, no animals for the hunters to eat. Life would end without it.

Water was treacherous though… one moment it could be tranquil and steady, the next moment it could be a wild torrent tearing through anything in it’s path or falling from the sky in sheets. So was life, nothing could be for certain. Take nothing for granted was what it taught one, and don’t underestimate anything. Not water, not life, not anything.

He sighed, singing a bit slower now. The song really wasn’t going anywhere- he had slipped from songs familiar to him into songs that he had made up. Songs about loneliness, songs about dreams and wishes, songs about seeking, and songs about family.

A small cub, fur white as a star slinked through the lush foliage, contrasting sharply with the greens and blues of the landscape. Tiny pads pink as new roses cushioned her oversized paws as she trotted along, her tufted tail flicking behind her with a mind of it's own.
Theluji had come upon this valley from the west. It was beautiful land, with an inexplicable spirit to it, and she enjoyed exploring it.
A ivory white ear flicked, absently cupping in sound. Was that singing? She turned towards the faint voice, ears swiveling once more as a look of obvious curiosity lit up her face. Still not quite used to being alone, the prospect of company was intriguing. She set off in a lazy canter towards the source of the sound.
When Theluji reached the mouth of the cave she paused. Hunching her back she pondered. It was definately coming from inside, may as well investigate. She poked her head in the mouth of the cavern, her golden eyes widening as she saw the walls were speckled with gems. "Hello?" She called in a prying voice. She was young, and the last thing on her mind was that she might be intruding.

(( Did I get the basics of the cave right, Thal? I'll edit if I'm wrong.. xD ))

(( You got the idea 3nodding It's hidden behind a waterfall and has lots of pretty writings and piccys on the wall whee ))

Maji's singing stopped sharply as a new voice echoed through the long hallways of his cave. It was pretty far off- towards the enterence judging by the soft level of volume it had declined to through the bounching echos. Perhaps one of the anteloupe had children and they wanted him to meet them. One of the females was looking rather rounded lately. How exciting- there woult be a new youngster he migt be able to play with. By the tone in the voice it was a female calling for him.

His face brightened into a pleasent smile as he began trotting down the long hallway towards the exit. He had put what mane he had in an attempt at a braid off to one side. A bead held in a very colorful feather that he had found on one of his more recent walks about the area. He could see the figure at the mouth of the glittering cave as he came closer- it wasn't an anteloupe but a lion cub! Perhaps she was one like him... his parents' souls must have guided her to him.

He stopped walking just about a foot from her, his tail waving happily behind her as his eyes ran over her form. She was white- pure white like a pleasent cloud. Her eyes were bright and joyful like the son. What a fabulous creature. He turned up, smiling at her softly, "Hello. I'm Maji of the Mistweaver-Kin. Are you from here? I've not seen you about."

(( whee Spiffy! ))

From the mouth of the cave Theluji could hear him approach. There were sounds of pawsteps coming closer, closer. Her ears tilted further still, fanning out to the sides as if radar, eyes beseeching the darkness.
It was another lion, a little older than herself, with silvery fur and strange darker markings; and a white tuft of a mane.
Her sinuous tail curled subconsciously into a sort of question mark as he came closer to her and spoke. Her pink nose crinkled; she hoped she didn't appear lost.
"Maji," She reapeated his name, trying it out for herself, as if mulling over it, and gave a small 'Hm,' noise of approval.
"I'm--I've only been here a couple days," She said, trying to sound confident as she switched her weight as she sat down on snowy haunches.
"My name's Theluji," The little lioness offered him a small smile. "Was that you.. singing?" Her smile curved up a little more, impishly.

"Oh...." he chuckled, his shoulders bouncing with the joyful expression, "Why yes but I wadn't aware that anyone could hear me from outside. I'm sorry if I've disturbed you, it's just something I enjoy." He had a very pleasent face- even for a lion cub. He looked far more gentle than any preditor ought to. The wild expression of curiosity and eager playful ness was shy in his face. Unlike other cubs he really hadn't taken to darting after moving objects or anything like that. It didn't mean that he wasn't playful- but he prefirred bounding in the fieldds with the deer or hiding in tunnels with the wild pigs.

A mature but joyful light shone in his cerulean eyes, a look that made him seem all the more pleasent. It was apparent that he was loanly but very friendly, silly but very wise. "Welcome by the way. Pardon me for the delay in a proper greeting."

He was unawares? So his voice must have echoed through the caves. "No--" She said hurriedly as he apologized "It was nice," And it had been. The strange melody had only reached her ears for a minute or two, but it's haunting spirit was still echoing in her head. She scrutenized the youth in front of her, with the braided mane and feather. He was part of that same soul that made up this land. Though his nature was charmingly soothing there was something about him that was profoundly mysterious, and it made her uneasy and excited at the same time.
The little cub was compelled to further explore the cave, and sidled over casually to a part of the wall that had caught her eye. "What are these paintings...?" She trailed off.

::He watched her silently, pacing a little to stretch out his legs so that they would not grow numb. His throat still felt like it was burning... gosh.. He was so thirsty...:: "We'll figure a way to explore this whole place.. It may take a while but, eventually we'll manage." ::A childish grin crossed his face as he looked back to the paintings. The grin quickly dissapered, one of his paws lifting to be placed upon the wall.::

"Uh-huh." Like all attention spans of children, however, Ciyari has a very short one...already, her mind is flicking away from the wall, as she lounges in the sunlight. "I'm kind of hungry. Want to go outside and find somethin' to eat, Hodari?" She stretches, yawning delicately as she gets to all fours, her backbone nimbly flexing like any cat's.

::He ran his paw down the wall, resting it upon the ground.. The cub quickly turned to face the girl, tail swaying a little as he walked towards her.:: "If you're hungry, of course!" ::He nodded, pouncing infront of the girl, tail flicking about playfuly.::

She lets out a chortle, yawning lazily and grinning. "Yes, I'm hungry. Queens have to be fed every so often, you know. Else...bad things happen." She waves this off vaguely, her tail twitching mischieviously, and trots away from him back towards the opening - and the chasm down below. She jogs, quite unconcerned, across the precarious pathway, and makes it to the entrance without a problem - perhaps not gracefully, but with a sense of purpose and balance that are not often found in one so young. "C'mon, Hodari!"
