Duellist The assassin blinked, and opened and shut his mouth repeatedly. "But... but..." he knew the answer was 'fire'. Every vampire knew the answer was 'fire'. So... why is it this answer worked? 'I hate mortals... always acting so... unexpectedly,' Duellist hurrumphed. Finally, he nodded. "All right... that one was right. I don't know how, but it's right. But this one will stump you... 'the beginning of eternity, the end of time and space. The start of every era, and the end of every place." No mortal could possibly get that the answer was 'e'. Their minds didn't work that way. Of course, a vampire had first used that riddle a while back, so it might have passed into mortal jargon. He doubted it, though. ~~ Bertram's voice raised almost an octave. "Could... could what? Could..." his internal world started to flash. He involuntarily released his defences as he took a step forward, his own handsome brown eyes flashing in the moonlight as if they absorbed it in. Okay, so they did absorb it in. But the metaphor...thingy... stands. ][-Snicker.- xd Fire was it? Luckilly fire and tornados share all the same traits.][ "E." Was all he would say, buttoning up his coat and making sure all the chains were in their proper place. Finally, he would make sure that the coat was ultimatly undamaged before he we give the reason for his answer. "I saw this riddle once at a vampiric bar. I can't remember the name, but they offered 200g to the one who guessed it. I, of course, lost (Gah.. How did I put lossed here? xd ) miserably the first time but I learned the answer there."
It was a good thing Hakan experienced many things in his travels, because if he hadn't seen that certain riddle, he would have been screwed here.][It's true too. xd It was when I was wandering about the commerce with Hakan.][ She would stare up at Bertram with that same innocent face from before. There, that's the face she was looking for. This was where she would destroy whatever hopes Bertram had! That beautifull innocent, shy expression changed. Distorted.. Her face changed expression, she was now wearing a sadistic smile. "What? What did you think I was going to say, Bertram? 'That maybe we go for a date?' Idiot.."

Taryn woke up alone, though the fact didn’t bother her at all. She stretched, and climbed out of the coffin, taking a moment to wake up, before pulling out the worn leather journal she had managed to keep hidden, and updating it. When she was finished, she hid it away again and wondered vaguely where everyone was. A moment later she fell to her knees, hit with a sudden headache. She quickly righted herself, an almost malicious smirk on her face as she easily transported to the room she had kept at the hotel.

When she was finished, she hid it away again and wondered vaguely where everyone was. A moment later she fell to her knees, hit with a sudden headache. She quickly righted herself, an almost malicious smirk on her face as she easily transported to the room she had kept at the hotel. ((What's up with her? eek )) The vampire almost snarled with rage. "ARGH! I HATE YOU MORTALS!" He calmed himself quickly, though, and snapped his fingers. They appeared back at the park, by the hotel. "...very well. As agreed, I hereby acknowledge you as the 'best'." The vampire sighed, then, and reached inside him. "You said that no matter how strong you get, an angel will still be able to take you out with one shot..." He pulled out a single knife, and balanced it in the palm of his hand. "I've never had oppourtunity to use this, Hakan..." he threw it, and it stuck into a tree. The tree shuddered violently, and the knife reappeared in his hand. "It's a weapon of pure darkness, and..." the vampire suddenly put his hand on his forehead, as incredible pain suddenly shot through it. 'What the blazes...' Duellist shook his head. "Um... where was I... oh yes. It's a weapon of pure darkness, and will take out almost any being of light in one shot. Without all the mess that usually entails." ~~ Bertram snarled and suddenly switched into full wraith form, his scythe leaping into his hand. "That was foolish, mortal!...ich..." he suddenly stumbled and placed a bony hand on a wall. "What the hell..."

That beautifull innocent, shy expression changed. Distorted.. Her face changed expression, she was now wearing a sadistic smile. "What? What did you think I was going to say, Bertram? One could imagine the little boy, stomping and laughing his thighs, laughing...Oh, it had been one of the best jokes he'd ever come across! It was wonderful! In fact, he was so taken over by the joke that he proceeded to throw flower petals at the girl.
The little girl, however wasn't smiling. In fact, she was shocked at her Teddy's actions and proceeded to box his ears. It was one of the few times she had decided to be so cruel to her brother, but toying with someone's heart to such extent was just horrible! "Theodore Peterson-Smith, you stop that laughing right now! What she did is just heartless and cruel and if you keep on--" The boy simply whined, squirming beneath his sister's touch."But its funny!! Look at the expression on his face!! ITS TIMELESS!!""Heartless, dreadful thing, that is what you are!!" Scoffed the girl, a sharp slap echoing through the darkness. HAH! That's what he got for materialized himself. Angry, the girl stepped from the shadows, those blue orbs icy.
For a long time she stared at the female Midori, shaking her head."And you, young lady... I just hope you never go through that yourself."

It had taken a decent amount of time to break through the wall that had been built, but she managed. It was that vampires fault... He made Taryn feel secure, and happy. It was always harder to break out when the girl was in good spirits, but she had managed, and now... Now was time to go cause trouble. See if Duellist loved her so well when he met her tonight... She appeared at the carousel, sitting side saddle on on a white painted horse as it spun, the lights and excitement of the park surrounding her.
((One of her "mood swings" ninja Taryn tried ot warn Duellist she wasn't always nice... Fractured personality due to her need to survive, but despising how she managed to survive. 3nodding ))

((One of her "mood swings" ninja Taryn tried ot warn Duellist she wasn't always nice... Fractured personality due to her need to survive, but despising how. 3nodding )) ((I'm guessing, but... there's a fairly close bond between Duellist and Taryn, and Bertram and Duellist (and Taryn). When the vampire says to Taryn 'I feel your pain', he means it. And he's not always very nice, either. Even better, he knows how to make a mind suffer without hurting the spirit...or the body)) Duellist shook his head to clear it. "Um... Hakan, I... I'm going to have to go for a while now. I... I should be at the hotel barroom in an hour or two." The assassin faded out, suddenly, and reappeared at the carousel. "Taryn?" He called out. "Are you okay? I could feel that across the park!" ~~ Bertram groaned, his head aching too much to take a swing at the kid. As well, the true horror of what just happened suddenly hit him. The wraith switched back to human form, and looked incredibly depressed. He spun around and faded out. He appeared at another area of the park, placing his hand on a wall again. '...now I'm angry.' He saw someone else standing there, though. "Miss?" ((Outkastic!))
