Minerva the Marvelous

PostPosted: Fri Nov 03, 2006 7:22 pm

Minerva swore and shot at the door, hearing the bullets ricochet with a sharp ping. She walked over and kicked it a few times with her boots. Then she sat down in a huff. She cursed again as warm blood pooled onto her hands, she glanced at the body and shook her head. "Never had a chance to sit down and talk before, eh Erica?"

Eulalia Danae
Ora walked with her green bear in hand, and noticed the blonde man, walking in her direction. She recognized her father immediatley, familiar with the disguise. She gave him a slight nod.
((feel free to follow her, as she'll probably lead Xeen to McKinnley))

The nod was all she gave him, and then continued on her way, she headed to the green house and after following her previous path she blinked inside the power module.

The sight of Minerva, with a gun, coated in blood, sitting next to a body didn't phase her. She stepped forward and opened her mouth to say some constructive comment about body disposal, when she recognized her mother's face.

Ora's movements froze, the green bear dropping from her hands. She turned to Minerva, her red eyes overflowing with power and hatred. With a Scream filled with loss, anger, and power, Ora made sure Minerva's senses were filled with fear, pain, and everything vile she could conjure.

Minerva the Marvelous

Minerva grabbed at her head, as her ears, eyes, and everything else filled with images, sounds, tastes, and feelings that made her shake to the very core. She looked around for her gun, blindly, begging for it to stop, she didn't know if she wanted to shoot herself, or if she wanted to shoot the child. She just wanted it to end.

Ora lifted the gun and ended it for her, with a single shot. She watched as Minerva fell over, and then walked back to Erica's body. She sat down next to it, trying to memorize the face, afraid she would forget it, the face of the one person she could truly say had loved her. She reached out and counted the freckles on the bridge of Erica's nose, they had almost faded away completely.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." She was sorry she had been so cold, she was sorry she wouldn't eat hummus, or rice crackers. She was sorry she threw the brand new barbie out the window and demanded a chemistry instead. She was sorry she refused to call her mommy. "Mommy," She crawled into her mothers limp embrace, and just stayed there. "Mommy."

Baranar had been following after Ora this whole time, given that he had nothing better to do, and was busy probing people while the last 5 pages took place.
"It seems we found her afterall." Baranar murmered.

Though unbeknownst to Ora, the bullets did exactly as they were intended to. Better, as a matter of fact. The bullets went straight through Minerva's head, due to some carefully timed magics on Baranar's behalf. After the bullets went through the back, dispersing thanks to some dark magic, the hole that Baranar opened in space closed, and he even went to the trouble of some fake blood, making the entire scene realistic. Minerva had appeared competent at Customs, and he had sensed that she might be useful. But Ora would need to believe her dead for now

Ora glared at Baranar, then turned away from him. She pulled herself up from the floor, and carefully moved her mother out of the sprawled position she had been left, into one that looked like she sleeped peacefully. She cast an illusion, the blood, wounds, and death palor, were replaced by the warmth and the rose-tinted coloring she had when she was living, the white shift she was wearing turning into her wool skirt and dark button up blouse. It was a skirt she had thrown away after Ora had spilled green paint onto it, she made sure to add the speckled paint to the illusion as well, for no other reason than it tickled the side of her lip.

From some deep, dark, hidden recess of his mind, Baranar found the compassion within himself to stay silent, and allow the child before him to mourn her loss.

Ora took a deep breath and glanced up at Baranar. Her face was as cold and lifeless as her father's bone colored mask. "It's done."

She picked the bear up off the floor and began walking away from the scene.

Should have been 'Eulalia Danae'
Baranar
From some deep, dark, hidden recess of his mind, Baranar found the compassion within himself to stay silent, and allow the child before him to mourn her loss.

Ora took a deep breath and glanced up at Baranar. Her face was as cold and lifeless as her father's bone colored mask. "It's done."

She picked the bear up off the floor and began walking away from the scene.

Baranar nodded, waiting for Ora to walk a bit out, and then turned to the bodies. He looked down at Erica, staring into her now un-bloodied face. He then turned to Minerva, suddendly unsure as what to do with her. He figured she would be reawakening soon, and decided a note was the best bet. He raised his hand, a piece of paper with writing on it appearing, and floating over to her, laying on her stomach.
((I'll PM the note later))

He looked again at Erica, kneeling down. He looked down at her, his face devoid of emotion, but still feeling a small ammount of regret for the woman who he had formed a loose kin-ship with. He shrugged, standing, and walking out, closing the door behind him.

Draqx, surprised at the events that gathered and the swirling intreage happening in a concentrated spot in the power grid. After careful thought and some interest os one body did not seem to be cooling off as one would expect a cadaver to he decided to investigate. Knowing that there might be a few sensors that he missed on his privious sweep due to the number of people that came to the scene despite the ghost program he decided to send a trio of remotes to gather the samples and sterilize the incident zone. He also sent a updated ghost program that would fuse with the existing one and mask and allow the remotes to travel to and from with impunity and no trace.

This he was sure would indicate that someone knew what had happened in the room, but he made sure to have the remotes use equipment that would on investigation point to the offices of the SIX, rather then a preiviously unknown faction.

The remotes were instructed to bring the bodies to a quarantine room 2000 cubic feet (100L * 20W * 10H) near one of the main vaults for observation. This they would carry out with due haste and efficency.

While waiting for the remotes to finish thier job Draqx would rest and review tapes when he woke.

((Finally, a chance to possibly discribe the vaults.))

Minerva woke up in the quarantine room with a horrible headache. She opened her eyes slowly and then squinted the closed again as the sharp light stung something awful. After a moment she opened them again, more slowly. She was on a long table, and as she glanced around she saw other tables, most of them were empty, but Erica's body was on the table to her left. She looked like she might be alive. Minerve reached out and felt for a pulse, but found none. It was an illusion, probably from the daughter. She shook her head sadly, and hoped she hadn't shot the kid durring the little trauma earlier. She didn't like killing kids, but it wasn't like she could be truly held accountable for it if she killed ora, not durring the attack anyway. She shuddered trying to hold back some of the memories of the illusions, and decided it would be best to stand up and move around, see if she could find a way out of the place. The moment she stood, the note that baranar had left slid to the floor. She picked it up to read.

Ora moved through the streets, feeling lost and without a purpose. Erica had always been the structural support in her life, both physicaly, mentaly, and emotionaly. Her mother had given chores, and a role, things to fulfill, a general purpose. ...Clean your room, eat the vegetables, don't disguise candy as vegetables using your damned power, no alcohol, read your books, learn about monet, behave, be nice to neighbors, don't let strangers into the house, don't lure strangers into the house, watch instructional videos, true crime stories are not instructional...even if you're analyzing the process of the perfect crime...

She glanced down at the bear, "well, what do I do now?"

The eyes shone bright.
"You know what you are to do. Your leave is over."
