You're in for a world of hurt? While I can see the theme running through the list I kinda doubt if it will be really all that effective. You are pretty low on troops and while this fits in with the theme, it could be a big con for the army as a whole.

Giggles, "Yeah I live in canada, and out GW can be a little steep depending on who decides that the site doesn't seem to fit enough when paying for stuff. The Kommando's are online $25, but in the store it's closer to $30, which is how I worked it out. figure the Mekboy is $8 on the site but $12 in the store, figure $4 extra ever set or box, so naturally sounds about right? right? Still, I think they might be a good investment, I am just starting with Orks, so, this is going to be done right, I goofed a little with Space marines, and I wont do the same mistake."

Ahh, another Canadian player. T'is true, the GW's here are not meant for anyone without a steady cash flow. My armies have cost... a lot. We'll leave it at that.

Still, keeping on the Orcs, your really shouldn't be afraid of going wrong with them, especially if you're buying Orc boyz. As it's been said, practically every Orc mod needs to have a good amount of Boyz to it.

I cant imagine that issues with prices are different just because youre canadian.

Laughs a little, "The site compaired to the store, makes it seem like ordering online is cheaper, and it is, by alot. When your paying like $12 for a metal model and online you can get the same for $8, thats $4 saved, minus maybe $2 for shipping. Think about it."

I wish it weren't so, but it is. The price of an English Land Raider: 35 pounds.
The Price of an American Land Raider: $55
The price of a Canadian Land Raider: $75

Now... I understand the value of the exhcange, and I know that the Canadian dollar is not that far behind the American as it stands now. Certainly not far enough to justify an additional $20 anyways, especially considering a few days ago I bought $100 American for $110 Canadian. The fact is, as Canadian consumers, we're getting ******** over. But meh, what're you going to do?

For the record, a Land Raider costs 35 GBP, which at today's exchange rates, is over 80 CAD. (It also equals almost 70 USD, but we get it for $55 instead. razz )

Who are you quoting? Or do you rp what you say even though this is a forum? Anyways regardless of my confusion over your message format...
I thought we were talking about prices in general, not the difference between online and offline purchases, which still wouldnt have much to do with your country.

To Daicon:

That sounds like a large chunk, but to really appreciate it, Id like to know what the canadian/US exchange rate is. FBJon atleast seems to know the rate between the UK and US

Every Canadian dollar gets you roughly 87 or so cents American, unless I'm mistaken, or unless the rates have changed since I checked last week.

Edit: As of the use of an internet currency exchanger via my bank, I have come up with the following results...

A direct exchange from the Pound to the Canadian dollar is: 35 pounds- $79.78 Canadian. We save $4 on a Land Raider! ^.^
From the U.S. $55- $63.27 Canadian. We're being screwed with a $12 difference. It is for this reason that I vow to buy the entirety of my Dark Eldar army when I go down to Florida in May this year. Even after the exhchange, it will easily save my working behind $100.

Sorry that I turned the Ork's thread into a Canadian/American discussion about how badly the prices change. But I have to agree with you, I'd be saving money getting them in the states, to bad I dont go there often.

Not to sound like an advertisement, but The War Store ships to Canada comparatively cheap, and sells for 20% off US prices.

So, my latest Ork concept involves a Tankbusta mob with looted Necron weapons to go in my Gorkamorka-themed Death Skulls army. To explain the "loss" in power, I'll be removing (or not inserting) the green rods and replacing it with wiring, as if it were hotwired by the Orks. Lastly, I was thinking of mounting mostly-dismembered Necrons strapped to their backs, plugged into the weapons as power sources. rofl

That would work out rather well.

Love the C3P0 on Chewie necron power pack idea. Sounds great. You going to do a looted monolith?

Yep, that's the plan. (Not mine, but sweetness.)

Also looking at some looted destroyer platforms with wheels and mega-armor torsos as buggies.

That looted monolith looks fun! I don't have too much cash availabe, so I buy off of friends with Fantasy Orks. Conversion is Good. Although, I did cut my finger and require stitches. xd By the way, I'm making Red Orks.
