Because we haven't had chair placement yet (and we probly won't until after marching season) but I was 2nd chair in middle school but now I'm 9th, but I'm first in the freshmen. But you're lucky to have a trigger. I can't afford one. It sux.

I play trombone. It is the coolest instrument because you get to poke the people in front of you with your slide. 3nodding

My first instrument was baritone, but for reasons beyond my control, I now play trombone. Baritone is infinitely better. sweatdrop Don't kill me, trombone-lovers! I only say it because I hate having to adjust and guess where the positions are...but that's what a trigger's for, right? Ha! I honestly haven't the slightest idea where fifth and sixth position is. I'm on first parts for everything, so it doesn't really matter! Yay!

Yeah, I hate playing trombone for jazz too. I used to play piano for it but they needed a trombone player so...yeah. I have a kid in my trombone section that can't get his slide to move unless he is actually playing it, or swinging it wildly, pretending it's a baseball bat. True story, too. He was pretending to be at a baseball game, bases loaded, etc, when he swings his trombone like a bat. Naturally, as fate would have it, the slide flew off his trombone and across the room. We watch him closely now. He's dropped it twice today.
