"Barren...? Why, I wouldn't say that exactly... a better term would be... 'Hidden under the surface.'" Taikai explained slowly, he understood that the north and south pole were places that most people in the world would have difficulty living in, perhaps in order to view the vast plains of snow as beatuiful, and inviting, one would have had to live there, and forged a home. "Well, I enjoy the north pole, everything can become beautiful, if you know where, to look... But since were going to thesouth pole, Taizen will have to tell us where to look, hmm?" He smiled to thechild, and then looked u at Taizen and Niima, only to look back to musei .6 seconds later. "Ah, it's irritating, but the trip from a place with wood, to the north pole is very long. Often, the ships trading with us do not protect the wood, and it turns soft with the sea's moisture, or it may crack and rot." Was he going to keep lecturing...? For how long...?!
Taizen frowned, some how Taizen didn't like it when Niima apologized, especially when it was mostly his fault. "I'm sorry Niima, I should have thought more about you, than just..." Her hand left his, and he would have let out a sigh of dissapointment was he not so in control of his body. He was silent, Niima had not yet finished speaking, but when shedid speak, and when she finished, Taizen felt a shard of pain embed itself in his body. He had made his guess as to what brought about this sadness, and he was right. He did not feel any particularemotion for Guardian that he felt for Niima, but when he'd promised to protect her, he should have known that Guardian too was under his mantle. When Guardian had died, a piece of Niima's love... Had it died to...? That shard of pain could only have materialized in Taizen's stomach after Niima had said it. His own mind wouldn't have allowed him to feel pain.
And Niima, as she walked away from him wordlessly, to leave him 'to his job'. Taizen could only oblige her, walking wordlessly to Taikai, who stopped his chatter, and spoke for Taizen; "Well, now we can officially continue on, Taizen, help me would you?" It would seem that Taikai was to take a silent nod as his answer, and the two walked to the ship, and if the air benders were still watching from the air, be surprised that the two water benders were scaling the ship like a mountain, though they placed they're hands throught the ice, to create they're own foot holds.
Once they were atop, they set out to shattering the ice on the boat, it sounded like two earthbender's were at work rather than two waterbender's, as the sounds of stomping, andthe shattering of ice began to fill the air, indeed ice occasionally flying through said air. It couldn't have been more then ten minutes when the stomping sounds ceased, and a rope ladder was cast over the hull by Taikai, Taizen apparently dissapeared, one could be rest assured however, thesound ofdistant ice shatter assured them all that Taizen was inside the ship, removing Ice from the inside, as they had done to the out.

A light touch was made to Musei's shoulder and a faint hint of a smile was offered to Taikai. As he and Taizen started, Niima ushered Musei so that they could watch from a safe distance. And what a spectacle it was. Stomp dancing and bending all in one. Strangely her focus was on Taizen as he worked away the ice, thinking back on his words of apology. She would have to talk with him later. Her eyes eventually broke away to wave off at the two airbenders and bison as they headed back to the temple, circling a couple of times to watch the 'show' below.
As the ladder fell her eyes would lower to the youth at her side, a palm softly pressed to his back to usher him to the boat. She would follow just at a slower pace. Her mind wasn't exactly on the moment..She looked ...brooding..

Musei looked up at the rope, and at his staff. He took an extra second, and then ran it through the empty slots in his backpack before hoisting himself up onto the first rungs.
They were considerably more easy than a tree, but tough nontheless. He kept his hands on the sides, not the rungs, as he popped each leg up. After a few seconds he reached the top and threw himself over. Picking himself up, he whistled. It looked bigger when you were actually on it.
He scratched the back of his head as he looked up as far as he could. "Wow."

Unlike Musei Niima just kind of leapt up and landed blanaced on the railing of the ship. Her eyes rose to see if there was a crows nest..riggings..spars..things one would expect on a ship. Then again, she didn't know the type of boats that waterbenders had..
Slowly she settled onto the deck, her mismatched eyes going to Taikai. "Anything we can do ..to help?"

Taikai stood up as straight as he could, stretching his back after the workout of freeing the ship of ice, as well as re-attaching parts of the ship that had to be taken down when they first landed. Quite frankly, burying the ship was much easier than to break it free, all they needed to do was bend a bunch of snow over it. Time took care of the rest, how? Well, the ship had accumulated extra snow, and frost while the two water bender’s were having they’re adventure in the air temple. When He was finished and looked up to seethe two air nomads, he grinned, well, just a little thing…”
Taizen was returning from the cabin bending a whip of water into the skin he carried with him. Apparently, the water was the shattered Ice he from inside, which he’d melted and used to refill his ‘ammo’ so to speak. Upon hearing the older bender begin, Taizen finished for him, he actually had a somewhat pleased smile on his face. “We usually have to travel on our bending alone….” He motioned to the sides of the ship, there were no oars anywhere to be seen, simply a mast, sail, and rudder. “Water bender’s usually guide they’re ships by bending alone, so that the tide is favorable,, once the tide is going in the direction they want, the ship can drift along smoothly. The only thing that makes this method of traveling irritating, is because the wind… Since it can easily send a boat off course if the bender of the ship isn’t paying attention…”
Bender, replaced captain in the north pole apparently, again, only warships had convenient tools such as ‘oars’ or fancy things like… Cannons… That said, it was no wonder it was no wonder water tribe people were rarely seen around the world, while earth benders, air benders, and fire benders traveled freely. It was just too much hassle You’d have to go days, and nights without sleep! Which, for the first few days wont be draining, but on the morning of… perhaps the third day, when the moon’s energy leaves a water bender. He can be drained quite easily, no wonder goods were poorly cared for!
“So you see Niima… And Musei…” Taizen said slowly, walking tothetip oftheship, looking out over the frozen inlet, taking a deep breath, falling into his hips, and bringing his hands together before moving his feet so that one foot had turned completely around, his other leg lifting off from the wood and placing itself on Taizen’s other side, Taizen’s right hand Shot out towards one side of the inlet, while the other shot to the other side. There was a cracking sound, and a line appeared in the frozen water, a few moments later, and the ship moved from the ice block it had stood on,into the ice, breaking it easily, now freed, the ice flowed out into the ocean, where the boat headed as well. “If you could every now and then… If you want…” He had a sheepish smile on his face, what washe doing..? Asking her out…? “Bend a bit of air into the sail…? If you want to of course!” He repeated ‘if you want’ either A) He had learned from his mistake, or B) He was relating relationships to bending, perhaps he’d nevr have awife, and if he did, it was going to be a bender. It had to be a bender…

Niima watched Taizen bend the water between the boat and earth, forcing it from the shore. Her brows lifted at the sound of collapsing ice as the boat drifted forward. Waterbenders where so...cool! For a moment she was yet again jealous of Taizen's waterbending.
Without realizing her head had tipped, eyes raising to the temple as it began to grow more in distance from her. Her attention slowly returned back to the two waterbenders to let them know she had been listening. It took all she had not to raise a brow at Taizen's sudden 'sheepishness'. She figured he simply was not use to asking for 'assistance'. But still..he smiled. And a light smile was given in return. "Of course. I suspected that air into the sails would be needed now and again so please feel free to give the word.." It did strike her as a little odd he used the words 'if you want'. Twice. Like he was trying to make a point. It actually worried her a bit. Did this change have something to do with that rush of..relief she had felt? Was he relieved she was still coming? Or relieved she wasn't..angry at him? Or maybe..it was something else. Had she used too harsh of words earlier and now he felt guilty? That would explain why he tried to apologize...So many questions and none..she wanted to ask. She feared the answer.
Her hand curled in and thrusts upward, bursting a ball of air into the sail to help Taizen set the boat on course of his choosing. Her eyes would drift from the sail and to Taizen, offering him a smile that maybe had only crossed her lips a few times that they had known each other. A full..true smile. But it was short lived as she turned to Taikai. "Master Taikai..if you want you can have the captain's cabin and Musei can sleep with Taizen. I will sleep in the crows nest." She decided to let Taikai ponder over that. After all she was offering him a 'safe haven' from Taizen's snoring. Hehehehe.
Her eyes lowered to Musei. "And we can use this as an opportunity to study your control over bursts of air. But..it might be wise to start at basics and a daily routine. Just until I am sure you won't accidentally tear the sail. Alright Musei?"

Musei smiled, leaning against the railing, watching everyone. He didn't quite understand the antics that were slightly going on, between Taizen and Niima. He just thought the waterbender was tongue-tied. It happened to him quite often.
Then he heard his name, and turned to face Niima, resting his elbows against the wood. His eyes widened after hearing the proposition, and he went over to sit on the deck next to Niima. "I...really? You would do that?"

She gave a cheeky smile at Musei and his words. He seemed almost as sheepish as Taizen. Did she do something to make them all skiddish around her? Hands clasping at the small of her back she would nod. "Of course. If you do not mind learning from me that is..I am not sure how much airbending Taizen and Taikai can teach you.."
Her hands curl into fists as she looks to the water. Should she teach Musei things from her village? Or should she stick to basics that most airbenders should know?

Musei smiled, laying down on the deck, resting the back of his head in his hands. Using the most ancient form of speaking known to himself, he replied. "'Twould be an honor, milady, to learn by thine hands and thy ways."
Grinning, he brought one knee up. He couldn't quite find a comfortable position. "But seriously, I would love it if you'd teach me. I don't know how to do anything, really."

She didn't know why but his words caused her cheeks to turn a bright crimson. Probably because she never expected for anyone to be honored to be taught by her. Giggling softly she pokes him softly in the side with her foot.
"That is not true. You know you are a bender and you can make swirls of air. That is a start! When I first learned I was a bender it was by accident and I nearly killed my older brother.."

Taikai had a broad grin on his face, and Taizen, who- though had his back to the group as he bended the current- apparently also had a smile on his face, he would occasionally turn his head to see what they were doing before continuing his task of keeping the boat on course, he was surprised at how fast they were moving, with the burst of gale in they’re sails, they were moving at a far greater pace than they were when they had arrived there! Hmm, perhaps the reason the Avatar was the most powerful, was because of the efficiency when more than one element worked together. Taizen found bending alluring, it was the best thing in the world, and he felt a wave of warmth surge through him when someone talked about it, because bending was a joyous thing that deserved to be acknowledged, Taizen probably would have ignored Niima after the first day of meeting her if she weren’t a bender, perhaps he was shallow, and deep, at the same time…?
Taikai waved when his name was mentioned, he did not move from his spot to say: ‘of course I don’t know how to air bend’ and stayed where he was. He didn’t believe he could teach Musei to air bend like Niima, but he did believe he could teach him how to air bend… Like a water bender. Taikai was old, and as an old person, understood many things, as well as the circular motions always used with air bending, in water bending, the basic ideology was to move with the water, to take on any task that comes your way. In other words, if you pour water in a glass, it takes it’s shape, if a water bender were to battle an earth bender, the water bender was to make less soft movements, and focus on the hard ones, and with an air bender, would it be wrong to focus on the softer ones, along with the precision needed to shape water? It couldn’t have been that difficult. But Taikai figured since Niima was coming along, she could correct whatever he was doing wrong, itwouldseem that he was just observing now, maybe he could teach musei how to dust snow off of something, wind was just as good as water when it came to small things llike that!
((Anywho… *ahem* Er… We could rp like this the entire trip to the south pole, or we could rp like thisin the south pole thread, or we could… Umm, become shipwrecked and appear in the earth kingdom! Well, I don’t really know, Ihad originally wantedthereto be a storm to fight off, but with how things aregoing, I’m not sure. Votes, and then a decision! ^.^; ))

[[I vote for SP]]
Musei frowned. "You're not the type to do that kind of thing, Niima! Plus, it was an accident." He yawned, finally laying down flat on the deck. That's when he fully felt it; the rocking of the boat. It was fine for a while, nothing more than a little jostling. But as it kept doing so, his stomach began roiling.
He held on a little longer before he jumped up and ran to the other end of the boat, hanging his head over the edge as he emptied the contents of his stomach overboard. It was embarrassing, and he sat up there for a while, making sure he was clean.
As the boat kept rocking, he grew accustomed to rocking with it. It was finally okay, but the embarrassment was burning all across his face as it lay buried between the secure valley between his knees.

((Okay, the storm will be taking place in the south pole thread! biggrin ))
Taizen was feeling a bit of resistance from the waves, he was beginning to do some sortof awkward dance, it looked like he was grabbing at invisible threads, pushing them to the side, before having to grab another before it got away. He was so busy doing this that he only noticed musei's run across the deck when he felt that the boat was steady enough. "Sorry Musei..." Taizen called, before the boat took another turn, and Taizen resumed the 'flailing around on deck' as Taikai wouldprobably call it, but he was busy looking up at the sky. He had a frown on his face. "Taizen, the clouds from whale tail island look horrible..." He called, Taizen barely casting a glance up to the grey clouds in the distance, they were so far away, it couldn't have meant anything. "So we might have a bit of rain..." Taizen mused loudly, as hecontinuedto grope about the deck, everytime he grabbed an invisible string he made a turn of his body in the direction he choose. The waves were choppy, but theydidn'tlook ominous, just... Annoying. "I hope that is the case..." He saidunder his breath as he looked back to the north, the mountain was barely a dot. If they were in fora small drizzle, then they couldcontinue on they're course, but if they were going into a storm... Well, they had little choice about where they weregoing nowanyways. She watched poor Musei with a helpless look. When she noted that the air was dragging against the sails she hankered down, hands stretching out in attempt to guide some of the air away. She listened between Taikai and Taizen as she continued the attempt several times. Every time she started the stance she made sure that Musei was okay. Poor thing..she felt so bad for him.
