With the Reaver entering the realm first, Atticus would slowly limp out behind him, just as the portal would close. What laid before them was something neither would have expected. A field of flowers, with trees and rather large lake. The overall scene was something out of a fairy tale world, something many would not have expected Herald to have. "Yeah, this is not your style." Atticus told the Reaver before looking around and seeing the large fortress in the distance. "They are there." Atticus stated as he could since their wavelengths. "There's no time to waste, lets get this over with, so that I can finally rest." he said, as he had nearly reopened all of his wounds, his blood falling down onto the flowers and filling the air with the stench of raw iron.
The Reaver looked back at Atticus. "Yeah, I can sense them," he replied as he started walking towards the fortress. "I wonder how close we can get before he bursts out and tries to kill us?" The Reaver said as he walked, hands in his pockets.
Following behind the Reaver, Atlas would shake his head, "No, I don't believe he will." he told him. "Well, I'm hoping that he doesn't. I need to tell him something and I'm putting my life on the line, in order to do so."
Herald got out of bed, looking back at Emma. "Let me deal with this," he told her as he walked towards the wall of their room that separated them from the outside in the direction that Atticus and The Reaver were in. He raised his hand and suddenly the entire wall exploded outwards as if someone had detonated a bomb against it. He looked down from the hole to see The Reaver and Atticus heading in their reaction. His face was filled with rage and he exploded into his kishin form, destroying much of the furniture in the room and collapsing part of the roof. In a streak of green fire he was out of the fortress. In less than a few seconds he had reached them and slammed down into the ground with such force that he created a small crater and sent chunks of dirt and grass in every direction. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!!?" He roared at the two of them. "Yo," replied The Reaver. "I'm just here because your friend here wanted to come."
Sensing Herald's energy, Atticus would stop moving, as he knew that Herald would come to them and almost as if it was planned, Herald appear in front of the duo, already in his kishin form and clearly angry. Atticus held up his hand and blocked his face from some of the debris that Herald had kicked up. After the Reaver had finished speaking, Atticus placed his hand on the guy's shoulder and walked forwards. Standing straight in front of Herald, Atticus was in no condition to fight, hell he could barely even stand, but he did not have an ounce of fear in his eyes as he stared up at the beast. "Nice, place you have here." Atticus said, obviously joking. "So, this is where you and the cat have been wondering off to. I can honestly say that this is not what I expected from you." Sighing, Atticus would finish with the small talk, "Look, you and I both know that, that battle left a sour taste in both of our mouths"
☽ Emma watched as Herald made the wall of their room exploded followed by a good rest of it. "That is one way of leaving I guess..." she muttered with a sigh as a barrier appeared over her head to protect her from any debris from the roof. She hopped up then and took off to try and catch up, partially to back up Herald if needed and also to see what was going on. By the time Atticus finished speaking to herald she had ran up not too far behind Herald and watched, a bit winded from sprinting. She watched quietly, not looking at Atticus.☾
Herald glared at Atticus as he joked. His wavelength spiked as he prepared to launch an attack of which a direct hit would probably incinerate Atticus. He was momentarily stalled, if only by surprise, by Atticus's last comment. "What? What's your point?" He growled angrily. The Reaver tensed slightly, ready to jump out of range if Herald decided to launch his attack. What's this nutcase doing? he thought as he glanced at Atticus.
Atticus felt Herald's power increase, clearly he was going to strike out at him, it was only just a matter of time. Before he would speak, Atticus saw Emma come up and standing behind Herald, she did not even look at him, something Atticus decided not to mess with. "My point is, that I am not satisfied with how it turned out. I lost, but not as myself." It seems that he was going to start whining about him losing, something that he never does. "In that battle, I died and was forced to use some power that I never knew I had. I didn't fight as Atticus, I fought as a demon and I lost...as a demon." From what he was saying, it was almost like Atticus was trying to start something. "I do not accept that defeat and I'm sure you didn't like beating a mindless demon." Atticus would then do something that he did not expect himself to do, he would actually smile at the beast and hold up his fist and admit that he was better, "Herald, you are far stronger than me. As I am now, I can not beat you, but I promise that one day, we will face off again and I will win." Atticus told him, waiting for his reply. In his own way, this was Atticus apologizing to Herald and trying to become friends once more. It is up to Herald, however, to decide if the two were on good terms with one another, again.
Herald paused as he stared at Atticus. "You came here to tell me that?" He asked, his voice a mixture of confusion and anger. "Why?" The Reaver looked back and forth between Atticus and Herald. "Wow, seriously? Are you insane Atticus? You know that if it was me I'd totally kill you, right?"
As Herald asked why he came al the way there just to say those things, Atticus would continue to smile. He was putting his life in danger by moving around so recklessly, most of his wounds had reopened and he was slowly bleeding to death, once more, but he didn't care, he was determined to speak with Herald. "Why?" Atticus asked. "It's because that's who I am." Atticus told him before letting out a small laugh, which was painful to do. Atticus would then become serious, his smile fading, "Look, you and I have been through a lot, we been enemies, friends and rivals. Believe it or not, even after everything, I consider you my friend, so to lose to you in such a manner, is unforgivable in my books. I want to fight you as Atticus, not a demon." Atticus then grabbed his abdomen, still holding up his fist at Herald, while forming another smile, "Reaver, you may be his alternate, but you are nothing like Herald." he added.
☽ Emma watched the two converse quietly, she kept her mouth shut about them fighting again. The last thing she needed was another panic attack from worrying about Herald possibly dying. ☾
The Reaver looked back at Atticus, giving a shrug. "I guess we're about to find out," he replied, though his tone indicated that he was positive Atticus wouldn't be leaving here alive. Herald was silent for a moment before he stepped forward and grabbed Atticus by the collar, lifting him up off the ground. The Reaver grinned, fully expecting Herald to end Atticus right then and there. "Deal...." Herald growled darkly. He put Atticus down and waved his hand, opening up a portal. "Now get out of my realm." The Reaver's grin faded and he stood stunned. Herald - he- would NEVER have let someone leave his realm if they broke into it. Atticus now knew that it existed and what it looked like. It was a relatively easy to navigate the realm itself and so Atticus would have no problem finding his way around if he was ever able to get back somehow. The Reaver would never let someone like that leave alive.
In his own way, Herald had acknowledged Atticus's offer of friendship. He had obviously come to the same conclusions as The Reaver, and yet he had chosen to trust Atticus enough to let him walk away without even a threat about what would happen if he tried to come back. And of course it needn't even be said that Herald would be willing to fight Atticus again, demon or no.
Atticus didn't flinch or even show fear as Herald came up to him and lifted him up off the ground. He merely stared at him, his eyes showing that he had trusted Herald to not harm him, which of course he didn't, seeing as he would put Atticus down and agree with his words. Afterwards, he would tell Atticus to leave, to which Atticus only nodded to. Glancing over at the Reaver, Atticus smiled, "You still have a lot to learn about this world, my friend." Atticus told him, before slowly making his way over to the portal that Herald created, but he would stop, after realizing something. "Oh! There is no need to worry about me coming here again. I can tell by your reaction, that this is a private place for you and Emma to be alone. I, more than anyone, understands how you feel, so this is our little secret." Atticus glanced back once more, looking towards Emma, he would not say a word to her, as he honestly didn't know what to say, fighting came so easily to him, but other things did not. "I look forwards to seeing you, both, pretty soon." Atticus added, before stepping into the portal, leaving only traces of his blood.
☽ Emma watched Atticus leave. At least everything seemed settled for the most part and she wouldn't have to worry about him trying to kill her or Herald when they would leave for Death City again. Her gaze went to the Reaver then, staring him down as she wanted him to leave. ☾
The Herald and The Reaver both watched Atticus walk through the portal. "Well, guess I'll be heading out too," he told them with a small smile as he began walking towards the portal. Suddenly Herald snapped his fingers and the portal slammed shut in front of him. "Where do you think you're going?" Herald asked him. "Uh, I was just leaving back to Death City," The Reaver replied. "No you're not," Herald told him. "You know how to get here and you can get here on your own. You're not leaving this place alive." The Reaver sighed as he turned back to face Herald. "Hey, I promise I won't bring anyone back here again," he said. "You brought Atticus here.""He paid me $900." The Reaver gave Herald a smirk, a cold glitter in his eyes. Herald growled angrily. "Stay back Emma, the alternate me is going to die."
