Donner remained quiet, his features calm as he nodded to Maximos' words. The girl was going through a strange ordeal at the moment - and depending on The Shadow's memory recovery methods, might have to put up with even more.

The giant's lips were pressed together, his eyes distant as he watched his prosthetic hand clench and unclench...before he let it fall to his side.

"Shall we?" He asked the Shadow, looking to it to lead the way.

Indeed.

There was a fair bit more walking to be had here than either Grace or Tomorrow might expect. Maximos' house was built like a labyrinth, almost every hall was made of the same dark wood, and carried only slight changes in decoration. That style as a whole changed when different wings of the manor were accessed, but for the time being only one wing was being visited. It would take them roughly 5 minutes of walking, before Maximos turned them down a wide hallway, and midway through turned to open a set of double doors.

This is my laboratory. Please be careful some of the things here are very delicate and entirely one of a kind.

He said that to both of them, yet there was a definite feeling he meant it more toward one of them than the other. The doors opened to reveal a rather large room easily the size of an entire basement, and decorated just as well. The walls were stone, there were no windows and stains covered the floor from where literally thousands of runes had been drawn, painted, scraped, and washed away. And where now a single large runic array now lay. To the left and right were twin bookshelves stuffed with thousands of tomes. There was no real order to them, they seemed crammed and stuffed wherever they could fit. Directly across from the door was a long 50ft table which looked almost as if it was plucked out of some dark wizards house. Bottles, tubes, hoses and the like pumped odd liquids through a complex glass circulatory system.

It was, in every expression of the word, a laboratory. Closets in the distance held countless pieces of equipment, books were scattered literally every where, in piles, stacks, or just flipped upside down and tossed across the room.

Clearly...it was a mess. But it was ready.

For Tomorrow though, something in this room seemed entirely different than everything else, something in this room called to him, by name. As if t was reaching out to his soul with a silent voice only he could hear. It was not ambiguous. It was definite, and it came for a 9ft tall, 4ft wide coffin shaped box laying against the stone wall just to the side of the giant laboratory table. It was a box covered in runes, and small seals.

The Shadow made no mention of it as he spoke.

Tomorrow you and I will stand in opposite circles, here and here. When I give the command, you will focus on Raven, and all of your memories of her. All of them, good and bad. For a moment they will feel as if they are being sucked away, lost even as you relive them.

He paused for a moment, moving over to the large box and laying it down on the ground.

This will continue until all of our memories of Raven have been relived and delivered. The spell should use our memories as a sort of emergency back up, letting her lost or latent memories resurface. The brain, never forgets...eh...anything.

A grunt. A small discomfort as Maximos stood after moving the large box. One would almost think he was getting old. As he finally stood he turned to Tomorrow and Grace.

Understand?

Maximos
Rae would awake, before panic or worry overtook the warm, calm, friendly, and somewhat aged voiced that was Walter's gently filled the air, along with a gentle poke directly at the center of her forehead. Her third eye, with a barely noticeable amount of help from Walter would be opened, and channeled allowing her eyes, soon after seeing the black to see properly. For her the darkness would fade away like a haze or a sheet in front of her eyes letting her see everything clearly.

She would be in a bedroom, gently laid on a large queen size bed, in a room seemingly adorned for a queen.

Good afternoon, I hope the Lady enjoyed her rest. How is the Lady feeling?

Walter would be standing directly beside the bed, his left arm folded across his stomach, his right arm down by his side, and a smile on what appeared to be a 60 year old face with a monocle in its right eye.

"Well this lady feels like she was hit by a bus.." Rae had very little humor on the subject at this time, she could tell that her injuries were all nonexistent now, and as the world came back into focus the fact that she was not in the void was a real relief.

"Or a herd of stampeding cows... but who the heck are you?" stare She was definitely starting to dislike new people... the first few had been alright, but then the third one had kidnapped her and the fifth one had tried to beat her to a pulp... needless to say she was not really in a trusting mood anymore today!

Grace quietly stood off to the side, fortifying her shields to make certain that she was not going to accidentally interfere in the spell that was being cast.

Whatch'a doing little Grace?....The voice was only in her head, and barely a whisper witch indicated that the speaker was quite far away at the moment.

I am doing what you asked me to do 'Andi, I am attending to Mr. Tomorrow!.... There was a definite tone of annoyance to Grace's thoughts as she responded.

Oh, but why are you in the deep dark if you are with Tomorrow, I would have thought that he would never be allowed to return to that place!?... Grace could tell that there was a lot of curiosity to 'Andis question.

The girl who was with him when I left, apparently he believes that she has lost her memories and has come to Mr. Maximos for aid! Now it was Grace's turn to be curious, for apparently this was not something that 'Andi had foreseen.

Oh dear, well I suppose that is a bad thing... Just keep an eye on the raven dear, there is a chance that this could hurt her quite a bit sweatdrop . And with that the presence was gone again, leaving Grace to wonder what the hell Verandi was up to....

Donner simply shot a deadpan look at the Shadow, as if to say thanks for the warning sarcastically, only without words and stuff. Entering the room, however, proved to boost Donner's morale a little.

Mess. Blessed mess. He was starting to worry that Maximos was one of those obsessive/compulsive neat-freaks. He welcomed the crammed bookshelves, and the messy tables, and the...

His eyes widened in the dark.

The box.

His head turned to it, even before it registered what it was in his head. It's call was ominous, and judging by the seals and the runes, whatever it was, whether it contained something or was completely empty...

...It filled him with...

He blinked as Maximos spoke. He tried to focus on the words, forcing himself to ignore the box for now. A small point was Maximos' grunt, which was something he focused on as he walked over to the circle Maximos had deemed his. When did Maximos get a bad back?

Regardless, he stood within the circle, suddenly feeling very defenseless in this auspicious room. He squeezed his eyes shut within the dark, willing the bad thoughts away, to focus on the task at hand.

When he opened them, his jaw was set. He didnt know what was about to happen...but he needed to do it. For Honoraven. "...Lets get this thing started." He said confidently.

D just couldnt help but giggle. It was so close, and it was going to be so funny, and just thinking of Maximos' unseen reaction made him laugh.

We knocks on d'door.

He said trying not to blow his cover with chittering laughter. Thankfully the doors were impressively thick.

'Den when big brudda comes...

He paused for a bit of suspense on that one, while still holding back laughter.

...we jump down and scer him! Rawr!

He lifted his hands up, his teeth showing, his fingers bending inwards like little stubby, dirty claws. Like a little monster, being such a little monster just came so easy to him. He waited for Teira to show him understood before he gently placed his hands back on the door frame, bent over and prepared to knock.

----

Nothing a little tea wont fix.

Walter said with a bright smile, as it just so happened that behind him a small cart was a teapot and freshly brewed and warmed, and served tea. Which he would be in the process of serving to her.

Whether she took the tea or denied it, immediately after the teacup had found its home either with her or back on the table, Walter would perform a formal bow to properly introduce himself.

My name is Walter Worthington the Third, Butler and Caretaker of Shadow Island the home of young Master Maximos. The Lady was delivered here by Mr. Tomorrow and Lady Grace for, care.

He adjusted the towel on his arm.

When you are feeling a bit better, Master Maximos asks I inform you the three are waiting for you in his laboratory. I can show you the way once you feel better.

The smile on her face stretched ear to ear and she crouched against the wall. Like a tightly wound spring, or a cat ready to pounce---

Rae simply accepted the tea cup and absently sipped at the warm liquid, it was soothing and it gave her the few moments that she needed to shrug off the last lingering affects of her fight as she sat on the edge of the bed.

"Tomorrow...and Grace... " stare Rae definitely remembered the red head and the fact that she had ended up in the void after the woman had made this world disappear in what must have been sleep. "Well as pleased to meet you as I am Walt, I think I don't want anything more to do with that pair... so if you would just show me to the door I will be off!"

Maximos shook his head simply in response.

First, we need Raven.

She was a very clearly absent ingredient.

----

D smiled from ear to ear, and then gently wrapped on the door.

Coming!

Could be heard echoing from inside the door before it finally opened. Maximos stepped forward looking somewhat confused. He had on a simple silken black shirt and matching pants that looked just about a size to large. But, before he could even ask where everyone had gone, D held up three fingers to Teira and then lunged over the edge. His legs knees still rested the door but his top half lunged over as he shouted.

Rawr!

---

Of course, Lady Raven.

Walter was a servant. A host before his guest. He would never dream of forcing Raven to stay, and neither would Maximos. But, there were factors at hand here, responsibilities if you will that he would like addressed.

But, before I do, would the Lady mind if I speak out of turn for just a moment?

If Raven declined, Walter would say silent. If she allowed him to he would quietly sit on the edge of the bed beside her. Walter sounded like an elderly priest, or father figure, he was just the sort of warm individual who seemed to want to help, but only help, honestly. There was no twisted motive, and one could tell just by the tone of his voice he would never push to far or pry.

Tomorrow and Grace brought you to Master Maximos for a single concern. You have another life Rae, children who need care, a business you own caring for the sick and dying. They feared you possibly also had enemies, who will be able to take advantage of your current state to harm you.

He took a moment to adjust his monocle.

If your memory stays absent these many things could fall into disarray, or worse. Your friends fear for your life, and the lives that depend on HonoRaven.

Another few clothing adjustments.

I cannot say how Tomorrow and Grace feel, but the Master, despite your memory loss still would like to call you friend. He simply wants to help, in whatever way he can, be it even offering you a simple lunch. The decision is ultimately yours, but you should know all sides of it. Are you sure you would prefer to simply leave?

He smiled warmly.

I do make a very good sandwich.

Rae invited him to speak with a simple gesture of her hand, believing deep down in a need for good manners, even if her language belied that belief.

"I understand what you are saying Walt... but for one, I am harder to damage than I look." She sighed and wondered if memories would make her better at hurting others in return when she was threatened.

"For two, I get the feeling that this Hono lady has already made sure that her children and business can survive without her... Three, I'm still not convinced that I am this lady... Hono is such a stupid name." xp The last was muttered mostly to herself as she debated letting people she didn't know mess around in her head.

Despite her desire to figure out who she really was Rae was becoming jaded quite quickly. "Don't suppose someone could write down the stuff about this lady so I can look it over and decide if I want to be her?" sweatdrop

Walter nodded. He listened, honestly, not just waiting for his turn to speak but carefully considering each word with the wisdom of all his years, and the quietly he responded.

The spell the Master seeks to perform should return, or at least display to you all the memories he and Mr. Tomorrow have of you. Unless you want to accept them, they'll be just that...memories. To do with as you will.

Rae sighed and rubbed her eyes with the heals of her hands, her long hair sliding around her shoulder to hide her face for a moment.

She let out her breath with a sigh and hopped off the bed as she shook her hair back again, a smile back in place on her face. "Might as well give it a try... what have I got to loose after all?"

Excellent.

Walter stood, turning to tug at the bed fabric fixing it rather easily.

Off we go then.

And he would begin to lead her, Rae would not be exposed to the labrynth that was this house, as her room was carefully chosen...right down the hall from the Lab. It would take all of a minute for Walter to peel open the doors, and no time at all for Maximos to speak up.

Welcome Rae, I trust you slept well and feel better?

He would pause a moment, stepping forward from the rear of the room.

Did Walter explain to you the situation?
PostPosted: Thu Nov 15, 2007 9:51 pm

"He explained...." Rae stood in the doorway for a moment, her arms folded across her chest for a moment and a frown on her face as she surveyed the room.

The frown was replaced by a smug smile as she made her way into the room, hips swaying with every step and her hair cascading down her back like a silky cape. "I thank you for your hospitality Mr. Maximos... Mr. Tomorrow, I would suggest that you refrain from thinking that you can cart me off wherever you please from now on!"

She shot grace a scalding look as she passed the taller woman, stopping to point a finger for a moment. "And you, don't go putting any more spells on me without my permission lady, or I will kick your a** next time!" stare

Rae dismissed Grace for the moment as she passed by, and smiled once more at Maximos, charm swirled around her like an invisible cloud.

Grace looked rather scandalised for a moment as Rae made her little threat.

The elf didn't think it was worth a tantrum at the moment, so she simply crossed her arms over her chest and rolled her eyes, remembering why she didn't deal with young people that often, they were all attitude... xp
