Miyuki pouted, but to be fair she hadn't realized it was so late already. Though her ada had a good point, considering how far away it was, they wouldn't get there until tomorrow.
"Okay," she murmured as she turned to head back to her room.
There would be tomorrow, and hopefully by tomorrow they would be there.

Andarien wasn't quite so ready to give in.
"Do I have to, Ada?" he pouted. "I want to see the island first, it's just been water for so long!"
The ocean had lost its charm for the boy a long time ago, since of course the sight didn't change from one day to the next, no matter how many miles they crossed.
Earendil shook his head. "You'll see it when you wake up, I promise. To bed with you."
Andarien frowned and looked back over the rail of the ship. He just wanted a glimpse of it ...
Almost as if in response to his desire, a faint light appeared in the distance where the island was.

Miyuki was already below deck by this time, so she didn't see the faint light. Instead she made a beeline for the room she shared with her magic teacher. Really, it didn't feel like she had been above deck for that long.
Shrugging out of her long coat, she set it aside along with her boots. Happy to have it off, but she knew that tomorrow they would be back on.

Lancaeriel was already in their room, standing at the window and looking out. She turned when she heard Miyuki enter the room and smiled at her.
"Have you seen the island yet?" she asked, turning back to the window. "It appears that they just lit something ..."

Miyuki shook her head, "I can't see that far, it's only a dot to me."
She paused, she hadn't noticed anything was lit, but...
"Maybe it was lit after I came down though..."

"Well, it only happened a moment ago ... come and see, perhaps you'll be able to see it now."
Lancaeriel moved away from the small window so that Miyuki would have room to look for herself.

Miyuki peered through the small window and sure enough there was a tiny light in all that darkness.
"Oh! There it is! Do you think they saw the ship?"

Lancaeriel smiled. "If we can barely see the island at this distance, how could they have seen just a ship from there? No, I doubt that they would have seen us. On the other hand, I have been told about a certain woman who lives there and has the ability to See things other couldn't know?"
Of course she hadn't met Rhea, but she had been told about her by a number of people on the ship.

Miyuki blinked and then laughed, more to herself than anything else.
"Yes, I forgot about Rhea's ability. She probably does know we're coming..."
Rhea always seemed to know everything after all.

Lancaeriel laughed softly, amused, and then looked once more out the window.
"So it remains to be seen only how much she knows, and how much will be a surprise when we arrive," she grinned, her pale eyes sparkling. "And of course, in addition to that, there is the question of how much she tells others of what she knows."
Of course, she hadn't been told the extent of Rhea's abilities. All she knew was that Rhea had the Sight - not how.

"Oh she'll know," Miyuki nodded, "Complete with names by the time we arrive, but mom says she likes surprises so she won't tell everyone everything."
Miyuki looked thoughtful, she didn't know Rhea that well, it was all hearsay and childhood memories but she had a pretty good guess of what Rhea would keep to herself.
"She will probably not tell them about Aethos and Aleassa because that is the biggest surprise," she finally decided.

"Then I think that our arrival may be - if I may use the word - fun," Lancaeriel mused. "And that is a word that I did not think to use for a long time."
There were things she enjoyed, very much, but there was very little that she classified as fun nowadays.
"At any rate," she added, turning from the window, "we might as well get some sleep. Tomorrow, I'm sure, will be a long day, and we'll want all of our energy."

Sure enough Ai and Senka were already on the bed, though thankfully they had not taken over her pillow.
Miyuki sighed, "I'm coming... now move so I have room too."
Because cats just took up more space than possible (and maybe Eevees too).

Lancaeriel chuckled at the pets and climbed up into her bunk. Taking the light orb into her hands, she murmured, "Let me know when you're ready and I'll put out the light."
She pulled her own blanket up about her shoulders and made herself comfortable.
