Parth Makeo NOTE! At this time I am not accepting invites to this yet and want to get the word out as much as i can! I was bored and decided to start a guild for a Pen and Paper RPG with Touhou Characters. No not like actual characters but our own. http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds-home/genosokyo-world/g.410821/ For the time, I am still writing up the rules and the basic story. If you don't get what I am talking about pen and paper, think more like Dungeons and Dragons only changing it up more. Instead of magic, Danmaku. Instead of Intellect, Faith. Kind of a switch up like that but altered to feel more like what we all know, while throwing in the whole tavern idea. Though some major rules are already down on paper... - Only one character at all time. You can make another but you have to kill your character and start at the beginning again. - If you are a creature not already implemented in the Touhou Games/Books then the Gms will look over it. We don't want special snowflakes like Half Vampire half wolf tengu crap. - Your character is not considered dead unless one of three conditions happen. 1: You accept his/her death at the end of a scenario or at any point. 2: You have been inactive for a month (From last post in a scenario. Does not count towards Tavern or free non-combat RP locations) 3: You attempt Lunatic Mode of a scenario without taking "Hakurei Insurance" (Which I will explain as paying half of your total yen now to ensure your character will not die but if you do 'Faint' with the insurance, you are no longer able to obtain loot/Yen from monsters or bosses but still progress until second death or you choose to leave) A lot of the rules need fine tuning on top of making whatever is missing. So if you have ideas or anything, please pm them to me and make sure to spread the word about it :3 Ive got a few years of experience playing pen and paper games, including D&D 3.5, Pathfinder, Star Wars Saga, and Dark Heresy. I could try to help out setting it up if you like

Yeah it would help, though we would have to alter some of the stuff (Like skills) to make it more accessible. I am using a basic kit's character sheet as a template for the stats and what is being added. Rewording them is no problem for me. In fact... Strength is the same (Melee damage) Faith is intellect now (Danmaku damage) Blessing is equivalent to a saving throw against danmaku. Determination is Melee saving throw. That stuff is pretty much done. I could use help with the actual numbers of course. Though of making it like bombs are spells and depending how strong they are (Level 1-6) they have a set amount of uses. But of course updates will happen every now and again. I even had ideas of later implementing a "Crafting" system of sorts. Starting with a few basic items to create either potions at the "Kirisami 'Shop'" or learn new spellcards at the Hakurei Shrine. Those locations will have more of a list of what items are needed to make that. I know i am filling our OOC with something not guild related but It came to me that no one tried to do a DandD styled game within the Touhou universe. After all, if King Brittian could make Ultima out of a D and D scenario he had the why not alter the Universe a bit? If i was good at programming I could of made some fan game like this.

Well, I had an idea that caused me to create five new char8cters in UM8 (one to each path), so now it's a little more interesting 8888'D
Also, the pen/paper Touhou sounds neat 8888)
Edit: Also in the process of adding a profile section in the UM8 Index, in the storage thread, just so you know 8888D

and just now i added a possible lottery to the game. Whichever GM will pick the part of being the Appraiser will get a PM from the person and do his/her best o reply as if he/she was Rinnosuke. As well as use a random number generator that we settle on which exact number will be what item. for example...
You hand Mysterious Item over with 500 Yen (I will keep track of inventory to my fullest as they should) from their character and after rolling, the reply might be...
"Umm...this is clearly a Toaster. You push the handle down and it activates hot coils when this plug is put into some kind of socket."

I think starting with the 20 level max would be a nice fit for this.

I will say tho that I have doubts on how well this idea will work, especially with the rules you have listed on the front page of the guild for it

happens to me too often. especially when it comes to video games in the mix of typing my story and life.
and if I was an artist...I would be drawing like mad of certain moments in the guild. sad
