Arielle's excitement for going home grew as they drove on. She enjoyed the music that was playing the car, wondering who the artist that was singing. She looked outside, willing the changing views to turn into the familiar area of Kedrick's estate. When they finally got home, she saw Maria's and Dimitri's car, glad that they were both there.

As they pulled into the estate, Arielle tried to resist any urge to just jump out of the car and run out to the inside of the house. She smiled and was glad to be home once and for all, blushing lightly with a slight lovesick smile.

Maria felt her skin tingle as Dimitri placed his hand over hers, making sure to not swoon and faint from the happiness. She nodded with a light smile and walked out, remembering her way through Kedrick's estate already. She thanked him when he opened the door for her and was surprised to already see that Kedrick and Arielle had returned home, but she smiled all the same, glad to see them there.

Arielle smiled brightly seeing her friends, waving happily to them. Hearing the conversation between Dimitri and Kedrick, she knew that they had just recently arrived as well, knowing that it would take a couple of hours for Maria to start cooking. She laughed and slowly got out of the car, making sure to hold on to something. "I think I'll be fine, Kedrick. I'm pretty sure I can walk to the door without killing myself. Go help them out with the groceries."

"Because I need all the help I can get chico," Maria said with a small smile before looking at Arielle. "Take your time walking back inside and I'll get Dimitri and Kedrick to help me bring in the rest of my ingredients. Give us a shout if you need help, alright Ari?"

Arielle nodded, doing what Maria said and carefully walking back, glad that her lightheadedness disappeared for the time being. She stopped walking, staring up at her home breathing in the fresh air and smiled brightly. "I'm back..."

Kedrick Suwa

Kedrick relented to let her go by herself with a small smile. "Okay, careful." He said gently. He turned walking over to where Dimitri was standing by Maria's open car door.

"Here." Dimitri said with a smirk, shoving the arm load of grocerys into his friends arms. "Try that on for size." Dimitri had to laugh slightly as Kedrick rolled his eyes at him. "Don't roll your eyes at me, I'll roll them back!" He said still smirking.

Kedick blinked, slightly taken aback. "Y- you'll what?" He asked, looking startled.

"Roll.them.back." Dimitri enunciated, glancing sidelong at his as he scooped up another armful. "Haven't you ever heard that one before?" He asked in disbelief.

Kedrick shook his head quickly, confirming Dimitri's suspicions. "No, never." He admitted with a slightly awkward smile.

"Oh?" Dimitri asked with a small frown, placing the last item in the back seat on the top of his pile. "Well now you have, let's get this stuff inside."

((Wow....This post is terrible....))

Maria kept a careful eye out on Arielle as she took some more food out of the car. With both Dimitri and Kedrick to help her, they would be able to get everything in time in a shorter amount of time then if it was just herself and Dimitri. Some part of her was a little upset that she couldn't spend more time alone with Dimitri, but then she remembered her little plan with him for tomorrow and couldn't help but smile lightly.

She only watched the two of them and giggled, closing the door when everything was out of the car and locking it. She nodded in agreement with Dimitri and walked ahead of them, noticing that Arielle wasn't outside anymore, concluding that she had made it safely inside. She walked inside, remembering the way to Kedrick's kitchen and sat her portion of the things down. She turned and finally saw Arielle leaning against the wall and walked to her in concern. "You alright, chica?" Maria asked, making sure she wasn't short of breath or anything.

Arielle nodded slowly and looked at most of the food that was already in the kitchen, smiling faintly. "You still do buy a lot of food."

Maria smiled calmly and laughed, messing with Arielle's hair. "That's only because I'm feeding two growing boys. Did you see how they ate your grandparents food? This should be enough for them."

Kedrick Suwa

Dimitri and Kedrick walked into the house, hovering in the door way of the kitchen as Maria commented on feeding to growing boys. They cracked into identical smirks, looking like two very oddly mismatched twins, although with all the time they had spent together it was no wonder that they had rubbed off on each other. Kedrick elbowed Dimitri lightly in the ribs as he passed him, walking into the kitchen. "You'd better watch out Maria, Dimitri'll eat you out of house and home before you can say 'Knock it off, you're eating to fast.' " He joked lightly, setting his arm load on the counter where Maria could easily access it.

"Hey!" Dimitri said, his voice rising and then cracking. Kedrick laughed slightly at the crack and Dimitri gave him a dirty look, a faint bit of pink creeping into his pale cheeks. "You'd eat just as much if not more than me if you were given the chance!" He said, a frown creasing his brow as he too set down the ingredients.

Kedrick simply smiled lightly at him, and Dimitri smiled as well, unable to keep disgusted at him. "Don't laugh Dimitri, you'll ruin it, your mad at me remember?"

Dimitri smirk over at him. "I can't stay mad at you, remember?" He shot back teasingly. Dimitri had at one time tried very hard to stay very seriously angry at Kedrick for as long as he could, but it just hadn't worked, he had eventually forgotten, and they had gone back to being friends.

Kedrick smiled, nodding his head in recognition of the comment before turning to look at Arielle. "You sure you're feeling alright?" He fussed anxiously. "Can I get you anything?"

Both girls faced the boys as they entered the kitchen, giggling lightly to their argument. Arielle had yet to see Kedrick eat in the way that at all, but then again, she wasn't as close to him as Kedrick was. She watched as Maria walked back over to the ingredients and started separating them into sections, probably according to what she was making.

"I'm fine Kedrick," Arielle said with a small smile, pushing herself up from the wall. "I'll just go up to my room and lie down while you guys work on dinner. Call me when it's done." She gave a small wave to everyone before walking up to her room, taking longer than it usually would. When she reached her bedroom, she smiled and sat on her bed, lying down gently before falling asleep.

"I'm very glad I got all this food then," Maria said with a smile, finishing up her food separation and began laying her bowls out. "So, anyone want to help me make dinner? That is, if you want."

Kedrick Suwa

Kedrick smiled, walking over to her. "Here, let me," He said beginning to help set everything out. "That one is dangerous in the kitchen." He said, pointing a finger at Dimitri, who was lounging nonchalantly against the counter.

Dimitri looked up from where he was studying his nails, hearing his name had brought him out of his thoughts. "Yeah, yeah, I know." He said smirking. "I believe we already covered that sometime earlier today." Dimitri added after a thoughtful pause, straightening up and walking over to the door way into the living room. "Either way, I can see when I'm not wanted. I'm going to see if you've changed anything about this place in the past year." He said lightly, still smirking. "Call me when you've accomplished something delicious."

Kedrick smiled. "'Kay Dimitri, will do." He said nodding before turning back to the meal and helping Maria prepare it.

Dimitri stepped out of the kitchen, looking briefly around the living room before moving up stairs. He kind of wandered from room to room, finding the library, some kind of sitting room and the bedroom he had stayed in while he was here. Wandering down the hall, Dimitri came to a different door, pushing it open slightly. He jumped a little bit, surprised to see it occupied by Arielle, who lay sound asleep on the bed. He tipped his head to the side slightly, a small smile touching his lips. Dimitri stepped in, picking up the blanket at the bottom of the bed and draping it over her shoulders. "Sleep tight." He said with a smiled, before slipping out of the room, and turning out her light.

"You two must love teasing each other all the time, don't you?" Maria asked with a small smile as she looked at the divided sections. She was trying to figure out just exactly she should start with first. Again she felt disappointed when Dimitri left the kitchen, but she had more important things to worry about right then.

After some mental debate, she finally had an idea of what to do and headed towards the middle section. "Okay, Kedrick. First thing we're going to do is wash these vegetables and cut them, some will have to be minced. But for now, we'll work on the vegetables. Then I'll probably work on the food with meats before I work on the Gazpacho..."

(Probably not my best post)

Kedrick Suwa

Kedrick listened to her instruction carefully, picking up the vegetables and walking over to the sink. "Yeah," He said with a smile, turning on the water and letting the freezing stream run over the vegetables and his hands. "We kind of got into a habit of messing with each other while he was staying here. The nice this is, neither of us mind, in fact, it's kind of like a stress reliever. If either of us is tired or upset, razzing each other helps us feel better." Kedrick said, looking over his should at Maria and smiling. He reached out, turning off the tap, his hands white from the cold. "Here you go," He murmured distractedly, setting the veggies on the counter and beginning to chop them up.

While Kedrick was washing off the vegetables, Maria listened to him explaining, smiling lightly. She and Arielle did something like that, but not as much as the boys. Usually they would go out and do things they enjoy to relieve their stress. Opening the meats, Maria made sure to clean off all the blood from them before sitting them all in separate bowls. She realized that she had forgotten to get her own spices, so she ended up looking through the cabinets, knowing she could find it.

After a few seconds, Maria realized that her curiosity was making its debut appearance again. When she found what she needed, she sat the things down and began the recipe, quietly humming a random tune before giving herself the courage to ask her question. "So... You and Dimitri have said that Dimitri used to stay over here... And I was wondering, why he stayed over? Because he knew this house like it was his own and... I don't know.. Just curious is all." There was a light blush on her cheeks when more questions about Dimitri had popped into her head, but she knew she had to focus more on making dinner, lest she embarrass herself with trying to understand more about Dimitri. When she gave it more thought, she remembered that Dimitri had been like that during the Harvest Dance when he asked about Arielle. But that's all different... Because... Because he said he cares about me... So maybe... Maybe I have a chance with him.

Kedrick Suwa

Kedrick's chopping paused for a fraction of a second as Maria asked her question, resuming a moment later. He felt his stomach twist uncomfortably as he thought about Dimitri's secrets. Kedrick had found it necessary to tell Arielle what had happened simply to keep her from thinking badly of Dimitri, and he had suffered a major emotional break down from Dimitri later. Maria had asked out of curiosity, not necessity, but it had been a long time since he had had to lie for Dimitri. The two of them had come up with a good story one night during the time he had stayed with him, but it had been a long time, he hoped he could remember it properly. This whole train of thought had taken Kedrick less than a few seconds, He cleared his throat slightly to cover for his momentary pause. "Dimitri's mom had some major renovations that she had to do on the house..." He started, the lie falling easily from his lips the farther he got into it. "I mean, the house was still..well...livable so to speak, but Dimitri was..." He frowned, thinking of a good word to describe it finally breaking out in a slightly smile. "He wasn't a nice kid, he didn't like people much, and there was always strangers there to work on the house. It..well, it made him uncomfortable I guess, so his mom agreed to let him come stay with me for a while...and, well, I guess he just never left, He did eventually, but here was here for a long time." He said with a soft laugh. Kedrick felt bad about lying to Maria, but he had already slipped with Arielle, and he didn't think he could afford to have Dimitri that upset with him again. Dimitri could tell Maria when he was ready, if he was ever ready, no sooner.

Maria continued preparing the food, waiting patiently for Kedrick to respond. When Kedrick finally did say something, Maria had turned the oven on to about 425 degrees. She never timed anything since some of the food took longer than others. Listening carefully, some part of her knew that something was wrong with Kedrick's explanation, like there was something missing or that it wasn't completely true. However, she knew it was not her business to interrogate him since it was Dimitri's own matter. She only nodded, taking what Kedrick said as "truth" for the time being before continuing preparing the meal.

"So Kedrick, what kind of music do you have?" Maria asked curiously as she reached for one bowl filled with chicken, "Because I love cooking to music."

Kedrick Suwa

Kedrick smiled slightly, his stomach still twisting uncomfortably. He hated lying to Maria, but Dimitri deserved to let her know when he was ready. He walked over to the CD player with a thoughtful frown, picking up a stack of cases and flipping though them. "Well, I've got a bunch of stuff here..." He said thoughtfully, continuing to thumb through them. "What kind of music do you like Maria, I'll probably be able to find something...Pop, jazz...I'm not sure what that is..." He said, setting aside a particularly ugly looking CD. "Rock...uh...I think this is death-metal...don't ask me how it got there..." He said with a soft laugh, looking up at Maria.

Maria continued cooking, starting to get really into it. She had learned all these recipes from her mother and grandmother, and even a few from her dad. The atmosphere wasn't the same as it was at home, but it was still a good atmosphere nonetheless. When Kedrick asked her about the genres of music and listed them, Maria gave it some thought, laughing when he mentioned death metal. She liked Jazz, Pop, and Rock, that she couldn't deny, but she wondered if Arielle had brought any of her CDs from home. "Hmmm... You don't have anything Latin, Kedrick? I'm surprised Arielle didn't bring any here. You know she's a third Puerto Rican, right? But I'll go with Jazz for right now. Haven't listened to any in some time." She turned back and continued preparing the meal, realizing that she needed to hurry up if she wanted to get desert prepared, even though that always came later.

Always...

Kedrick nodded his head with a small smile. "Okay," He said lightly, picking up the Jazz CD, popping it into the player and adjusting the volume so it wasn't too loud, but could definitely be heard. He smiled, looking down, his hands still resting on the top of the CD player. He wondered why he had never asked about Arielle's...well...genealogy for lack of a better word. Truth be told, he had had no idea that she was part Puerto Rican. This train of though lead Kedrick back to his own family tree and how little he actually knew about it, seeing as there was very little contact between relatives in his family. His father and grandfather had never gotten along well, some long standing argument that had been forgotten, but left a bitter resentment between the two of them. Their family's almost never spoke to each other, it was for that reason that Kedrick didn't know any relatives on his grandfathers side. That was also the reason that the whole estate had come to Kedrick rather than his father. His mother's side was a different story though, she had been unusually close to her sisters especially, so Kedrick had grown up with his aunts visiting frequently. Kedrick smiled, turning back to help Maria, realizing that he had been spacing out. "What else can I do?" He asked, leaning over her shoulder slightly to peer at what she was doing.

((I just realized that we never specified where in the world this RP takes place XD Somehow, I always think of England. XD ))

While Kedrick was spacing out, Maria finished prepping the meat, sitting them in different sized aluminum pans. Her feet tapped to the rhythm of the music, remembering the days when she would go listen to band concerts before her one cousin went to college. When Kedrick asked her what else he could do, she was broken from her moment and looked at him, giving the question some thought. When she looked back at the food, she knew that the broth still needed to be cooked as well as rice and noodles. "You can help me put this meat in the stove. Then we can prepare the rice, noodles, and vegetables. After that, we'll mix everything together and I'll cook that, and then finally we can start preparing the dessert. Sounds good to you?"

(1) Again I love your new posting layout. So cool 8D. And second, I realized we never did do that XD. Where should they be at?)
