♥ Apologies if I am rude to step into this "disagreement" but, @viiictoria: you have stated that you live a Lolita lifestyle. Well, a part of that lifestyle is being a polite, and likable young lady. I do not think that it is in the least polite to take pictures from someone else and post them on such a community just because it is not your idea of Lolita. Please consider what your actions are before you do them.
Do not take anything too seriously, though. ^-^ I am just stating my opinion too. But I must say that I am Japanese (though with a 4th of Vietnamese and living in America) and as much as it hurts me to see how many people have "bashed" the Lolita fashion, I still keep it to myself. Knowing that you are a Lolita inside is all that matters. True Lolita, you know?
Well that is all I have to type. Heehee...

Drywater Novala Takemoto has mentioned in places, not just that one essay, that a Lolita must stand up for her fashion. However, his meaning is that if someone wants to make fun of you for what you're wearing, you need to stand strong. Honestly, though the context is rather different, aren't you and your community being the bullies here? We have a lot of girls here who haven't quite found themselves as a Lolita yet, are making the transition, or who simply don't have the money. If your family was poor to the point at which it was a strain to put something decent on the table every night, would you go out, get a job, then blow all the money overseas to buy fancy dresses and frilly outfits? I should hope not. Some of us have to make do with what we have, using what we can get. I feel so lucky because I know that there are such girls here, and they're still trying. And maybe we all can't afford a sewing machine, either. You have numerous brand name pieces, you're not overweight or have skin problems, bad hair, or anything wrong with you, really, except maybe you have the wrong attitude. I am QUITE sure Novala Takemoto did NOT mean that, when you find a Lolita that looks like a cosplayer or who has gotten the fashion wrong, you should gather up all their pictures in your sweet and innocent 16,000 yen Baby, The Stars Shine Bright basket and slap them down for a crowd of unkind, snobbish, elitist pigs disguised in sweet ruffles to desecrate. If you feel so strongly about your love for this fashion, you won't do this because it won't help your cause at all. Maybe you can change... and do something that WILL help repair the problems that you and your community are seeing here... which is staying and helping others out kindly by giving constructive criticism and suggestions. I know for a fact that Hotaru-chan wants to learn about how to become a good Lolita, and she's interested in Punk Lolita style. Perhaps you could help her learn. You can take his meaning however you'd like but I take it this way. I am possessive over lolita. And I probably always will be when it is skewed and portrayed in such a manner. What do you think Novala would say if he saw those pictures? gonk I didn't go digging for pictures, they were willingly posted by those users. Yes, I spend a lot of money on lolita. However it's about 1/2 brand and the other half hand made by me. Every piece of brand I own I worked for. There are thrifty ways of pulling off lolita put you have to actually make the effort and grasp the basic concepts. Which those pictures lacked. If my family was in such a financial situation, lolita would not be at the foremost of my worries. I don't know how young all of you are but at 16, it's time to get a job. That's how you afford things and how the world works. Until then, lolita is an expensive hobby, you'd better understand that. I'm gathering a cohesive link list and basically writing an essay to help the members of this community. It should be finished and posted within a day or so.

I just want to state my oppinion on posting the pic thing.
I was reading peoples comments on there, and to me most of them dont seem lolita at all, meaning the people who post. So posting there makes you not more, but remotely less lolita as I see it.
Im sorry, but blowing into other peoples flames, wont make yours shine brighter

I did report viiictoria on here and on LJ. I didn't understand this thread to be such a strict lolita picture thread....i thought it was just a guild memeber picture post....correct me if i'm wrong here some one. sweatdrop she could have just told me that none of them were lolitas and just cosplay and why and i would have accepted that. But what she did was morally wrong and violated my privacy and that is why i decieded to report her. as i stated before i am so glad that others on this guild are more considerate than her and are willing to help me learn more about the lolita fashion is and what it's not. i know that i still have a long way to go, but at least I am coming to a better understanding of what things are.

Hotaru230 I didn't understand this thread to be such a strict lolita picture thread....i thought it was just a guild memeber picture post....correct me if i'm wrong here some one. sweatdrop It's not. It's "Guild Member Picture Post" meaning it's a picture of you in anything, doing anything (within the ToS). The Images sub-forum is where you can post a thread showcasing your lolita outfits or your artwork.

Oh my, it seems that this is turning into a little high school like predicament. I personally thinkthat it was out of line to post pictures on an elitist group, simply to teach whoever a lesson. The fact that Viictoria-san has been loli for sometime now does not give her the right to completely destroy a beginner lolita, despite her effort to try and pull off the fashion. This completely betrays the whole manners idea of lolitas, who are classy, good mannered ladies. Would the posting of those pictures to have them picked apart be considered any of these? Absolutely not.
I know this might sound some what hard to do, but please try to tolerate us newer lolita, we really do try, it just doesn't always work out. We need all the positive support and constructive critisim we can get. Not just a simple and total rejection. Quite personally I do think that Navy-san has a point, and I agree totally with the lolita lifestyle idea she stated. Sorry for bringing this up so late, but I felt I needed to add my two cents.
