Does anybody else think that when you are working with a class at a daycare that it is wrong to listen to your ipod rather than watch your class?

I mean, I have a little brother, I know what standards parents want in their daycares.
I mean, if I owned a daycare. :/ I'm gonna own a bakery.
I hope to mesh video games and baking. :3 Like, cake decorations, cake shapes, if possible, food modeled after foods found in video games.

Evidently, according to Wylr, since she is a teenager it should be expected.
This one coworker of mine, who I love as a person but can't stand as a coworker, has been driving me crazy for the last two months.
Not only the headphones thing, but she is evidently just "really good friends" with another coworker who works a different shift. Thus that other person comes in during our shift and they just sit together doing each others hair and laying all over each other. It just annoys me because I feel like it is really inappropriate. She is supposed to be watching kids and instead she is just ignoring her entire class.
The weirdest thing is my boss has seen this behavior and doesn't even care (granted, she didn't see the head phone thing because that would really piss her off, we aren't even allowed to have our cell phones on us).
Sorry for bitching. Just wanted to talk to someone and Wylr didn't want to hear it.

Then again, if you can't fully understand the responsibility of watching other peoples' children, you shouldn't be working in a daycare at all, teenager or not.
