"Oh aye, I am alright ..." But it was an unenthusiastic response at best and he rubbed the back of his smarting skull, wincing. And it wasn't without his own ounce of nervousness he watched as Kyo came over and he saw as Lorika floated back down to administer to him. He flinched, feeling horribly crowded and embarrassed, and before he forgot, snagged the feather from the sandy soil. He shrank back after they had cast their spells.
Growing restless, the Overseer tried again. He jumped up to his bare feet, this time staying upright, and he glanced surreptitiously around at those were gathered there. He twirled the feather between his fingers, brushed off his robes and turned to walk into the temple without another word. It was where he was headed after all ... although Lorika had already brought him new robes.

Be good...
Lorika watched him go quietly.
"Don't forget to eat..." she mumbled under her breath, not really caring if anyone heard her or not.
Weighed down by emptiness, she continued to stare ahead, completely ignoring Kyo as if his voice were static on a radio. Then, with sudden realisation like a tiny cog clicking into place in her mind, she found that might have somewhere to go other than the Temple.
She might have been expected to follow the Overseer, but... somehow normal rules weren't applying properly at the moment.
She stood, the picture of serenity, and walked away down the path she'd come from.
...and you will be lonesome. (( Edited for Kyo ))

“So I cried, and I begged for you to Love me love me say that you love me...” White Mage Kyo Christmas Kyo picked the clam back up and held it in his arms before turning back to the two women. "Does he seem a bit off," he asked softly. He remembered during the war that most of the followers catered to every need that the Overseer had. "I think something is wrong...maybe one of us should try to speak to him...as a person rather than a person of ascendency..." Feeling like he could be of some use he walked into the Temple and met the Overseer next to the fountain. "Oro...is there something wrong? You can...you can talk to me as a friend..." Kyo mumbled as he looked down at his clam. "...leave me leave me just say that you need me I can't care about anything but you."

Angelique stood aside once again as the Overseer made his way into the Temple, silently. She tilted her head curiously. Had she done something to upset him? Probably. Maybe. Who knows? She watched how the High Priestess walked down a path, instead of following the Overseer back inside. That itself was odd. When Kyo spoke, she nodded. "They both seem off in my opinion..." she replied. As he returned back into the Temple, Angelique wondered if the High Priestess would want to talk about... whatever was bothering her, but she wasn't sure if she should pry.
"Oh what the heck..." she said with a shrug as she followed the High Priestess. "Rika, wait!" she yelled after her, calling her a friendlier term than she was used to.

Be good...
Lorika stiffened and stopped.
She wanted to keep walking, but... she had to appear priestly, didn't she?
So, she turned slowly, managing to plaster her face with a smile before she made it all the way around.
"Yes?" she said quietly as Angelique approached "Is there something you need?"
...and you will be lonesome.

Angelique could see how she stiffened when she stopped. She obviously didn't want to speak at the moment... but Angelique couldn't let her go when she looked so... out of it. "High Priestess... Rika... what's wrong?" she asked her, giving her a look of concern. "Did... did something happen?" she asked her again.

Be good...
Her smile didn't waver.
"I'm fine. You must be mistaken. Nothing's wrong."
She had to admit, even she was pretty convinced by that.
"Is there anything else?"
...and you will be lonesome.

Angelique was surprised. She looked fine, and normal; but her eyes reflected something else. Whatever it was, she knew that Rika wouldn't talk to her. Angelique sighed. "I know you aren't, Rika... but I... well, if you need anything, some one to talk to or anything at all... I'll be in the Temple," she told her with a sad, small smile. "Also, when I want to think about something, the beach is a great place to do so," she added. Maybe she just needed time to think, like she did.

Be good...
"Thank you for your concern, Angelique," she smiled, before quickly turning on her heel and heading doubletime towards her destination.
Her heart hammered a little, as she prayed no one else would follow her...
When it seemed the coast was clear, she practically broke into a sprint. She didn't know quite why she was so eager to find some company. It's just... she'd been stewing so long, and there was only one person who seemed inclined to listen to her and understand... only one she felt comfortable talking to, anyway.
...and you will be lonesome.

((Ahh, I see where this is going. *helps it along?* 8D))
Coline found herself staring in awe yet again as the Captain smiled. Was it really possible for someone so beautiful and talented to have feelings for someone like her? Her posture stiffened for a moment when the drow took a step closer, wrapping his arms around her as he planted a soft kiss upon her forehead.
A hint of red crept up her cheeks for the umpteenth time and she smiled. This warmth was something no million blankets could replicate. With a small sigh the young recruit rested her head upon the Captain's chest, as she had done hours ago, and brought her hands up his back. "I have to get back to training." she whispered. "But can we stay like this... for just a little longer?"

(( Answer: NO. )) Be good...
The cabin was finally in sight. Now she really did break into a sprint, heart pounding with every step. It felt as if the world was carrying her towards it, buoying her up when she might well have slipped beneath the waves.
Coming up to the door, she took a few moments to compose herself. She must have looked a mess while running... hastily, she straightened her robes and flicked back the pieces of hair flopping in her face. Her pale face might have been very red from the brisk cold and the exertion, but she would never know.
Raising her hand, she rapped loudly on the Captain's door.
...and you will be lonesome. (( *quickly makes another posttt* ))

Nindyn vel'uss kyorl nind ratha thalra elyhinn dal lil alust. Jessie gripped Coline more tightly again. She... she actually wanted him, too. He knew it would be a long, long time before they could build anything truly lasting, but... this was wonderful. A wonderful start.
He kissed her again - twice, thrice, four times, pressing his lips to her brow, her cheekbones, her closed eyelids... she was so beautiful. Her skin was so soft. He just... wanted her in his arms forever.
The sound of the door was like... well. It was as if he'd been drinking the elixer of eternal life and knowledge, and someone had walked up and knocked the cup from his hand.
Reflexively tightening his grip on Coline, his head snapped round. A small growl escaped him.
Then, regaining his senses, he sighed and shook his head.
"Nothing for weeks, and then two visitors in one day."
He glanced back at Coline as if sharing a private joke with her, and then - very reluctantly - released her.
"I'm coming," he called as he had earlier, striding the few metres to the front door. Somehow, though parting from Coline had been painful, his mind now felt strangely clear. It was like he was a new man - enlightened. He opened the door amiably, and actually smiled when he saw who it was. "Lorika!" Those who watch their backs meet death from the front. ~~ Drow proverb
