"You must find that spot, however, and you know nothing about this elf." She knew exactly what his breaking point was but that information was hers alone. "Do you really think so? If that's what gives you the illusion of supreme power, then gladly hold onto that thought. Simply remember that you are in uncharted territory and that gives us the distinct advantage. What would you like to know?"
PostPosted: Mon Jul 13, 2009 6:48 pm

"It's very simple. the brigade master is what is called a 'rune mage' I want to know where the other ones are, and who they are. I was going to ask this young elf nicely but he chose to disrespect what he didn't know at first glance, acting as if he could possibly 'give me trouble' and then he decided to not say anything."

glancing over at her.

"So you tell me what I want to know. and I will know of your lying to me. And I'll leave this boy in your hands to do what you want. or, we can continue this little endeavor until someone either breaks, or does something they will regret doing later."

obviously reffering to her.

"Rune mages? They're scattered all over Andal. It's a specific art but many have begun the process of learning it. Individual names would do you little to no good anyway. There's at least a handful of them in each area and a few in Brigade as well. Why would you want that kind of information? It's just another form of magic."
PostPosted: Mon Jul 13, 2009 9:08 pm

"you try my patience. you know I was reffering to Master Rune Mages, like your brigade master apparently is. So we can do this one of two ways. you can stop attempting to insult my intelligence, tell me what I want to know, and I can leave this boy with you. Or, we can wait until the convulsions start, the poins works into his lungs and and the constrictions work to squeeze his heart like a ripe tomato. then we can wager how long before he tells me what I want or if it kills him."

glancing at her.

"So why don't you tell me what I want to know, and preferably before someone does something that they are going to regret later. and I don't mean me."

"I merely told you what you wanted to know. Information is currency and that rule applies everywhere. This boy that you're holding means very little to me so your threats and his life aren't going to force me to do your bidding. You tell me why you want to know so one of us doesn't do something we'll regret later. And I don't mean you."
PostPosted: Mon Jul 13, 2009 10:34 pm

"You're not strong enough to threaten me. not even in the realm of possibility that you could even hurt me. You're in no position to negotiate with me."

turning his attention fully to her, jade eyes showing nothing but a lack of anything even remotely considered 'emotion'.

"If he meant nothing to you, you wouldn't have lessened his pain. if he meant nothing to you, you wouldn't have stopped me from what I was doing to extract the information I wanted. and you probably wouldn't be holding this conversation with me now."

a light twitch of his lip.

"which means he does mean something. Even if that meaning is only in the uniform he wears. which if that is the case, means that you fear repercussions. Now why would that be. certainly this...brigade..in numbers and power doesn't outdo the whole of your empire. Or is it the master rune mage that runs it that you fear."

Her side of the boat was uneventful, not that she minded and Nillrik was catching more of the closer to the surface fish rather quite happily and keeping those rather than using them as bait for bigger catches. He enjoyed such simple things and she wasn't going to take his fun away from him. Tugging at her rod some to wiggle her bait a bit she turned a look over to Gale as he was starting to get excited. "If you fall in the water, I'm not rescuing you. Sea elves will get ya."
PostPosted: Tue Jul 14, 2009 12:37 pm

There was another tug and Galesen planted his feet squarely on the deck to keep himself from moving further. But he did chuckle as Isle seemed to poke at his predicament. "Why thank you Tempest, but I don't worry anyway, we both know what the sea elves would do if they get their hands on me." Another chuckle to that as he planted his foot on the railing as the next tug seemed to pull him closer to the edge. "Gods, this one seems to want to put up a fight, I would laugh if it is a sea elf wanting to play around." Galesen did have a few lovely sea elves do that when he was fishing, lead to some interesting moments for him to remember.

But as Galesen kept on reeling in his catch he pulled back hard on his rod, causing it to buckle as the creature in the water tugged back. When the line got close to the boat Galesen gave one final tug and with a noisy splash a swordfish jumped out of the water. The result of the swordfish jumping in the air cause a slack in the line, which made Galesen fall back onto the bench with a loud thump. But just as quick as the fish manage to leap on the air Galesen managed to stun it by sending a little pulse of lightning to it, then quickly pulled it over the edge of the boat and onto the deck. After he took out the hook Galesen looked at the swordfish and smiled a bit, it was at least eight feet long and was a bit heavy. "Well you were right, the fish are really good this year."

She watched as he struggled with his apparently large catch that wasn't a sea elf, half of her waiting with baited breath for him to go over the railing and just laugh. The other half was interested to see if he was going to get that thing on board. Latter won over the former soon enough however and she left her pole to come look at the thing flopping on the back deck of her boat. "I am not cleaning that thing."

Nillrik looked at his bucket and then to Galesen's fish before turning his attention back to his pole with a grin. "That doesn't count as the biggest. You cheated when you caught it. Lightning doesn't count as reeling in. I win!" Already declaring his victory seeing as his mother hadn't caught anything.

A look to the fish and he smiled before kneeling down and delivering another shock which took it out completely, at least now it wasn't going to flop around the deck. "Don't worry Isle, I'll clean it and such and we can have some of it to eat later on tonight." A look to Nillrik and he raised an eyebrow. "I don't consider that cheating, if i didn't do it I probably would of been forced onto the railing and then over the edge." Yes Galesen was trying to be the winner, it was not often that Isle would make a bet like the one she did before they started fishing; he always liked to take her up on that challenge and when she won at them she always had a few good ideas in mind as much as he did. "I'm willing to go for another round if you want to keep on challenging my catch here." Smirking a little as he stood with his fish, they've only been out for an hour or so, no reason to head back yet.

She knew he was right; she didn't have enough power to combat even her aunt and she wasn't a master by any means but she was a rune mage. Krymsyn was feeling trapped and she knew that if anything happened to Vale, she'd have to answer for it. But she also knew that the longer she stood her fighting a debate she couldn't possibly win, the closer she came to danger from her mother, aunt, and Brigade. There had to be another solution. "Keep guessing, stranger. Maybe you'll eventually find the answers you seek." And with that she turned and walked away.

Meanwhile, above the surface, snuggled comfortably in Ty's arms, Lhia was in reverie. She began to twist and turn, whimper, and fight. And finally she sat up and screamed, drenched in sweat and shaking. "VALE!"
PostPosted: Tue Jul 14, 2009 10:56 pm

A light chuckle at her turning her back, but it had no humor it in. letting her walk on her way and looking to the boy in the cell.

"Leave you to your fate..I suppose then I should just leave and search elsewhere. but not without a parting gift. the gift you are foolishly withholding from me. knowledge."

looking at Vale.

"while the effects of the noxious spells may be countered, the second one is much more complex. you have a week. one week to give me what I want, before your beyond even my ability to stop what is going to happen. I'll let your mind wander on what precisely that is. but lets say it will be painful, in a manner you're mind now isn't even able to fully grasp."

he closed his fist, and a scroll formed in it, before dropping on the ground in front of Vale's cell.

"Decipher this, and you can contact me beforehand. otherwise, I will contact you at the fourth day of the week. if you still refuse, or have not deciphered the scroll..then I'll let you find out what happens."

And with that, he vanished again...into an abandoned mine of the moon elves. hiding in plain sight..he knew from past experience that a myriad tunnel system could be more then enough to keep him concealed...not to work on setting up his laboratory and continuing his studies into knowledge of the past, and present...and the power that comes with it.

Nillrik only frowned back. “Not that’s cheating. Not my fault if you can’t handle and tire out your fish. Magic use is cheating.” He was pretty adamant about it, from the look he was wearing.

“Alright boys, let’s not get into it. Galesen, you could have fought it for a bit rather than use magic yes that’s true at the same time, it may have taken hours and are any of that really that patient for something like that?”

Vale was barely listening but listening none the less. It seemed he didn’t have a choice in the matter of this all if he was refusing on all fronts. But it didn’t matter to him, he wasn’t going to betray the one good thing that had happened in his life. Letting go of the bars he reached out between them to grab the scroll and draw it into his cell. Hell.

He wasn’t in reverie, merely letting his mind wander a bit…it was brought back quickly as Lhia suddenly was having a fit and he didn’t even get a chance to try and help before she had snapped up screaming. The action left him blinking before he took her by the shoulders to get her attention. “What’s happened to Valeessen?” Not a time to try to calm her too much, he knew what that scream and name meant as he’d heard it before.

Krymsyn was pissed and she was even now penning a note to Brigade to let them know that some stranger had taken one of their own. Walking back over to the cell, she twisted the key the other way and tugged him out then laid him on the floor. "Don't panic....we'll get help."

She was holding her head, clutching at anything to make the pain stop. "He's...hurt. Badly...and it's getting worse." Shaking her head and then turning. "Ty...he's dying. There's something inside of him that's eating away at him and it's going to kill him. He's in Vrist..." Which wasn't a good thing at all.

Galesen raised an eyebrow as Nillrik kept on going, kids sometimes, they had to poke at everything. A look to Isle though as she went about giving both sides the reason that they could be right. After thinking of it for a moment Galesen looked at the fish and gave a small nod. "Alright, Nillrik wins." He wasn't completely upset about it, but Isle had a point, maybe he should of let it go when he saw what it was instead of thinking that he won so quickly. A look to Nillrik and he smiled. "So, what did you catch?"
