So his name was Kenshi! This was a breakthrough. Turning back to Cin, she grinned and gave a wave.

"Thanks!"

Turning back, she smiled at Kenshi, one ear held up while the other flopped down lazily. Her tail began sweeping back and forth and she held back the urge to pat him on the head. He was a samurai. Samurai child, but a samurai nonetheless! And plus, Kenshi had a helmet on and that rather defeated the purpose of patting him on the head...

Sukku snapped back to attention; she cleared her throat.

"Well, it's very nice to meet you, Kenshi! Maybe one day we'll be able to talk to eachother," she said hopefully. The dominant white tuft of fur on her tail coiled upwards, her smile one of warmth and friendliness. She was startled quite suddenly when Io tapped her on the shoulder.

She hadn't even heard her coming!

Sukku twisted around and tilted her head quickly causing her hat to just about topple off her head. She stared at the masked girl for a moment before the item she was holding was thrust into her hands. Sukkubus's fingers clamped over it in reaction to it, and she looked confusedly at Io's retreating figure. What was she supposed to do with it?

Her thumbs brushed over the smooth surface and the young fox woman finally looked down, eyes widening suddenly in amazement. It was a masque, somewhat rounded and the color of snow: crisp, white, and pure. The eye-holes were somewhat upturned and the area where your cheeks would normally have hidden had the barest of blushes. Small, crimson lips completed the mask, giving it a graceful appearence.

In all its simplicity, Sukkubus thought it beautiful.

But she was confused, as one would be when something lovely and foreign was entrusted upon them...what was she to do with it? And what was it for?

Fauve was on her way out the door when she saw Io.. she heard her and watched Su take hold of the mask.. she turned 'Merci... come here a second and be my interpreter...'

Merci blinked and came out carrying her food.. she looked down at Su and smiled at the mask in her hands.. "Congratulations.."

Fauve rolled her eyes and says 'Ask her if she wants it.. if she doesn't take it back to Ice's house... if she does you can give her a run down on guardianhood....'

Merci looked up and tilted her head... 'Cause I've done such a good job with you right?'

Fauve got a hurt look and turned heading out into the woods finally.. to get her bath...

Merci sat down and looked at her.. "so... I take it you noticed all the people running around with masks on their faces... they started out just like the one your holding in your hands... if you take it.. your accepting responsibility for it... your going to have to watch them, care for them, protect them when possible... we all sort of help each other out... the one you saw just a second ago.. with the checkered mask.. is the one I was chosen to take care of, her names Fauve... they start out innocently enough.. but soon enough you'll have a child.. and then the turn into teenagers.. it isn't easy by any stretch of the imagination... but it's worth it.." Merci smiled and took a bite of pancake.. she looked down and muttered under her breath "dang thats good... mmm.."

Aricin scouted the downstairs finding general linens and some basic cleaning stuff, he was relieved to find bleech hypo-alergenic detergents among the products. However after searching the downstairs he waited idle for Kata.... before moving to the base of the stairs and starting to climb, called "Anything interesting up there?"

Sukku couldn't help the giggled that bubbled up within her. It would be kind of funny if her masque was a boy - she had a strong (to the point that it's true) that it was a girl, however. She decided that when the masque became a child, she would name it. For now, she cradled it delicately within her arms.

At the mention of food, Sukku perked up and looked hopeful.

"Yes, please! I haven't eaten since yesterday!" she said, her stomach seemingly too weak to grumble. Or maybe it had already devoured itself. The mention of eating seemed to remind her that she was indeed hungry.

Sukku accepted and followed after Merci, tail wavering back and forth eagerly. She grinned as she entered the kitchen after her, looking at the half-cleaned mess. What a creative way to cook, she thought playfully.

"I can help clean up some more," she offered. As the plate of food was offered, her eyes darted to it and she heard a grumble of yearning from her stomach. It smelt wonderfully! Picking it up, she tore into it shamelessly, and more or less ravenously.

"This is great!" she said around the food, swallowing and attempting to slow down her feeding process. She was prone to choking and she didn't want to spit ANY of this good food out.

As she slowed down, she smiled a bit. "I can't wait to meet everyone," she said, smile turning to a tiny grin. "So Kenshi belongs to this Rhia-lady? Hm...I'd like to meet her..."

She could be my mother...

"Ah, my compliments to the chef," she sighed contentedly.

Shiva thought for a moment. She did not consider it frivilous to ease the discomfort of someone, but Nika had a point as well. She could not teleport Gee into her bed, so she would have to be roused one way or another.

Nodding, she shook Gee's shoulder gently. The sooner they got her up, the sooner they could get her back into bed and more at ease. And Nika as well. She had heard him mention he was sleepy. She had little doubt. It had been a long and confusing day, and she had much to think about. And talk about if she could get Chae to speak.

Merci nodded and looked at Cinder.. "I'll be back... help yourself to something to eat alright?" She got up and put her plate in the sink and stretched... "come on... you'll learn that sleep is scarce... and food comes about once a day... twice if your lucky.. usually things are hopping around here so you won't get alot of down time.. when you do charish it...." She walked back through the living room and down the front porch.. hanging a left she glanced back to be sure that Su was following.. she stopped in front of the house Fauve explained and opened the door.. "here it is... as a masque guardian you'll be here for awhile.. make it your home... you can have a day or so to get situated.. however... we've got alot of projects we need to get hopping on and you'll need to help if you can..."

The fox-girl followed Merci outside, stopping for a second on the porch to scoop her backpack up and sling it over one shoulder. That done, she scurried after Merci, arm curled about her masque.

She nodded to Merci, "I was hoping to be able to help out. You've all helped me so much, already." She was used to staying awake for days at a time, so she wasn't to worried about that. Although, sleeping was a favorite activity when it came down to it.

Su walked through the door and looked about, content as when she had eaten. Full belly and a place to sleep, surrounded by people who were very kind and helpful. She looked down at the mask and felt positively delighted.
