((Beach Bar --> Sand n’ Stuff ))
While RoChan was waiting to grab some ice to shove into the crook of her aching neck, she continued to watch the limbo contest come to an end. There were a few very limber folk out there doing what she could not… bend to a ridiculous low and make it under the bar. Somewhere in the dragon’s mind she was miffed that she wasn’t able to make it to the last round but it was a matter quickly forgotten. As RoChan watched the boyish half body that she had meet earlier pass out a sudden thought came to her. It was round in form and yellow in color with little white dots covering its rubbery form. “Ah! My inner tube!” She cried out suddenly.
The blue haired dragon scrambled off the stool she had been sitting on moving towards where she last saw the camera loving half body. He wasn’t where they had been before the paint war but scanning the beach she was able to pick him out by the ocean standing near a two legged person that looked oddly familiar. A quick walk and slight wave later, she was on her way over to the floating body to reclaim her missing item.
“Hey there kiddo!” She called out as she neared with a breathless smile. “Thanks for holding onto that for me.” RoChan held out her arm to take back the inner tube from the floating creature. She knew that there was something else that she was forgetting but she couldn’t place her finger on what. ‘Oh well. Must not have been important.’ With a mental shrug, the dragoness ignored the lingering thought.

Aphismet had been about to try and pry the information out of Rivener, wondering if perhaps the Scorpion had been watching the paintball war, when a blue-haired woman came jogging over, taking back the strange yellow inner tube that Rivener had, for some reason, been carting about. (Aphismet blinked, amazed that he hadn't for a moment thought it was odd that Rivener had an inner tube... Hunh!)
Rivener, however, brightened considerably when the blue-haired woman came back. He floated up to a standing position and gave her the tube, smiling sheepishly. "I'm sorry... I wasn't careful and I snagged one of my rings on your tube, and it was punctured. W-we put some tape here, to fix it..." Rivener pointed to the small seam that had been repaired with the medical tape. "I'm really sorry. Does this mean you won't let me borrow the camera?" He looked anguished over the thought.
"Camera? Punctured? Rivener!" Aphismet got to his feet and dusted the sand off his wet bathing suit, smiling sheepishly at the newcomer. "H-hi, I'm Aphismet, Rivener's guardian. What's all this about cameras?" He extended his hand to shake, somehow thinking that he'd seen this woman before. "H-have you been to a Lab 305 event before? I think we may have met..."

David continued to wear his goofy but dangerously mischievous grin as he pulled a daredevil move and leaned in closer to the sopping girl. She was giggling all over the place and David had to lock his arms even tighter to get her to stop forcing his own body to vibrate, but in the end, they both just stood embraced, laughingly like a pair of maniacs. Ebony was playfully beating his chest, but the man was so used to getting physically teased by his sister that her hits grew futile fast. Finally, after she blew a few stray hairs from her vision, David locked eyes with her, laughing back, "Oh, but I think I'm pretty smart my dear. I mean, I knew I couldn't take you out in one shot but it got your guard down at least."
Immediately after saying this, David scooped the unsuspecting girl bridal-style and bolted for the shimmering waters nearby. As his legs splashed against the refreshing current, he gave her a quick peck on the cheek before...dropping her into the water, laughing still, "Sacrifices must be made if you want to truly win, Ebony."

His words made her settle then as she took them in. Her guard? Ebony stiffened slightly as she realized he was right. How could she have allowed such a thing to happen?! Without her armor, she was open and vulnerable! And there were far too many things in the world that were more than willing to hurt her whether intentionally or not.
But try as she might to pull the rough exterior back on, it was very hard to give up the moment. The water droplets still clinging to his wet hair glistened like tiny jewels in the quickly approaching evening sun. His silver gaze matched her own, and although she’d meet plenty of others with the unusually rare eye color, David’s seemed even more unique, yet also somehow oddly familiar.
It was a moment before she’d realized that the male had scooped her up and was running down the beach…towards the ice-cold water. “Oh my god, no! Put me down now, David! DAVID!” Ebony screamed while trying to get out of his freakishly strong arms. Her struggles were obviously failing as every time she thought she’d gotten freed, he’s slip an arm right back around her waist. Simply infuriating! A flash of familiar white and swirls of red and black next to one another were caught in the corners of her eyes. She frantically yelled and waved her hands, “Aphismet! Rivener! HELP!” That was a futile attempt as well seeing as she’d been deposited quickly into the freezing waves a couple minutes later.

RoChan slowly blinked as the creature explained what had happened with her inner tube. Looking at the mentioned area, there was a small, but visible, white ‘X’ over what she assumed was the punctured area. As the dragon touched the area, she almost burst out laughing but contained it into a rather large grin that quickly dissipated as she stole a glance at the half body. He looked so apologetic that she felt guilty to have even considered laughing at his misfortune.
“Don’t worry about this old thing, hon.” The blue haired dragon flipped the inner tube around and pointed to a place where she had patched up a hole with a bit of electrical tape. “It’s not the first time this thing has had a patch job. However,” She waggled a thin finger at ‘Rivener’ a serious look on her fair face. “You still have be punished.”
Turning her attention to the white haired man, she shook his hand awkwardly. RoChan was never the type to do handshakes as a form of greeting so she wasn’t used to it. “RoChan. I’ve actually have never attended an event formally.” She explained tapping a finger on her chin. “There was one that I went to for a few minutes though. As for the camera,” The woman gave Aphismet a shrug before turning back to Rivener. “I actually have no idea.”
A sudden girlish yell caught her attention and she turned to see a Chinese male carrying a frantically flailing violet haired woman into the ocean. RoChan took a step towards them before stopping, remembering why she needed the inner tube in the first place. "Well I'm not going to be much help." She said sheepishly.

Rivener completely deflated when RoChan said she didn't know about the camera. H-had she actually forgotten, or was this his punishment for popping the inner tube? "T-the camera, the one that takes pictures of the stars! You said I could use it with supervision! I'd really rrreeeeeaaaaally want to try it, plleeeeeaaase!!" Rivener hardly ever resorted to asking with any kind of emotion behind it, and he absolutely never BEGGED for anything. But his pride was a price he was willing to pay if it got him a night with such a wonderful camera. He floated lower, threading his fingers together and raising them up at the blue-haired dragon imploringly. "PLEASE pleaspleasplease! I'll do anything you want!"
Aphismet blinked and watched his usually proud, grown-up-seeming, stoic Scorpion Frei break down and beg like a three-year-old child. Or, to be more chronologically correct, a two-and-a-half-year old. Rivener was really asking a total stranger for something like this? A camera that took pictures of the stars?! Sounded like a telescope... An expensive one! "R-Rivener, you shouldn't ask favors of people you never m-"
Aphi's gentle rebuke was interrupted by a loud screech as Ebony was carried past and unceremoniously dunked into the ocean. "ACK! Ebony!" Aphismet rushed forward, leaving Rivener to his begging for a moment. Aphi rushed into the water (since his swim trunks were already wet anyway) and glowered at the chinese man who'd dropped his purple-haired teacher. "Ebony! Are you okay? What's wrong with you!?" Aphi turned his disapproving eyes towards the man. "If she didn't want to go swimming, forcing her is hardly the way to go!" The student leaned down to help Ebony to her feet, gently corralling her back to the sand. "I've got towels," he informed her, guiding her towards his parasol.

David couldn't help but sneer playfully at Ebony's reaction. It was like watching a drowning cat..Wait, what if she really didn't know how to swim?! Momentarily stricken with panic, David's hesitation cost him as a white haired man dove into the water beside him and trudged the woman carefully out of the icy depths. Ebony was soaked, the stranger was fuming and glaring at a secretly concerned David, and there was some Raevan on the shore nearby pleading for ..something. Whatever it was, he was begging some blue haired woman for it quite loudly. Wait. Who was that?
Fixing his gaze upon the curvy lady beside the crimson and black Frei, David felt his heart jump like it had when he first met Ebony. The Lab was just so full of beautiful women!! Temptations were everywhere. Taking the chance to follow Aphismet and Ebony to his parasol where the other pair was, David let out a fake apology, making sure it sounded sincere enough to hide the plans he was silently coming up with to "accidentally" start a conversation with RoChan, "I'm..sorry Ebony. I was just messing around. Haha, you know, I'm pretty competitive..I didn't want to..it was a pride thing I guess."
Suddenly, though, David felt irked at the worrisome Aphismet and couldn't stop the words from rolling off his tongue, "But you have your boyfriend here to console you now, so I guess I should get going. He's got towels and everything Ebony."
His eyes momentarily lingered on the blue-haired figure in the background before flickering back to the couple with a hurt look on his face.

Freezing, yes that was exactly the word to use for the waters temperature at the moment. With the sun well on its way to setting, the heat had lost some of its bite. Ebony sat shivering in the water, her teeth chattering and her purple hair disheveled beyond recognition. At times it looked like it flashed streaks of black for some reason, but that was probably a trick from the light.
When the white haired man came running to her rescue, Ebony tried to explain to him, but found it hard to with her chattering. She simply allowed him to pull her towards his camp out on the beach. Flashing a grateful smile towards Aphismet, Ebony pulled the offered towel around her snuggly as she tried to warm up.
Both men looked pretty concerned for her being dumped into the ocean like that. She didn’t mean for things to get like this. They didn’t need to be so concerned since she was more than capable of swimming and she’d known they were only playing around. Ebony only meant for her screaming towards the Raevan and his guardian to be light hearted, guess she messed that up. When David apologized, she was about to wave it off until he mentioned the word ‘boyfriend.’ Her nose crinkled like it always did when she was annoyed or irritated. “Aphismet is not my boyfriend. He is my friend. And further more, he is my student and his girlfriend…” She stabbed a sharpened nail towards the sleeping pink haired woman not too far away from them. “…is right there.” Ebony scoffed and gave the Asian a ‘so you were saying’ look.

As the trio trudged back from the ocean the blue haired woman focused on recalling what the black and crimson half body was trying to beg out of her. She was half paying attention to the three of them and half not. She did hear though that this ‘Ebony’ was Aphismet’s girlfriend. Woo… no wonder he was so mad! A small part of her was interested enough to watch the drama unfold but Rivener was completely capturing her attention.
‘The camera with stars… OH!’ The proverbial light bulb flickered to life above RoChan’s head as she started to recall her conversation with Rivener earlier. Of course she wasn’t going to deny the kid the opportunity especially the way he was pleading for it. It was as if it was a life or death sort of matter to him.
The dragon gave him a kind, warm smile and patted his head gently with a thin fair hand. “Of course you can borrow it, Rivener.” She softly cooed as her hand gently caressed his silken tresses. “First, however, you must repay me for the inner tube.” She gave him a sly look as she beckoned him closer.

Rivener only frowned as Aphismet, as usual, abandoned Rivener to go tend to something else. It always seemed like everything else in the entire world mattered more than whatever Rivener was doing. Despite everything that had happened, some things didn't change, apparently.
Nevertheless, Rivener wouldn't think about that now. It was GOOD that Aphi left, so that he wouldn't interrupt while Riv was begging (The Scorpion's pride stung at the very thought) for the camera. He was almost on the verge of adding a pout to his begging strategy when the blue-haired woman patted his head and agreed. Riv beamed in pure elated bliss and he floated up to standing again, nodding energetically at the woman. "Anything, anything! What is it?" Eagerly, Rivener waited for his punishment, whatever it may be.
Aphismet raised an eyebrow at the man, who followed them despite everything that had just happened. Well, as long as he didn't do anything else to Ebony... Those sudden comments about Ebony being his girlfriend brought a sly smirk to Aphi's lips, a rare expression. Usually, the man would get flustered at the very suggestion of him being involved with a girl, but with Chloe's presence right nearby, Aphismet didn't at all feel defensive.
And besides, Ebony stated that very fact herself. Aphi instead crossed his arms and tilted his head at the chinese man. "Indeed, Ebony is my teacher. If you don't mind my saying, you sounded a little bit JEALOUS there." Perhaps bolstered by the fact that he'd just recently SHOT this man in the paintball war, Aphi was feeling a little mischievious.

Team work hm? David eyed the familiar white haired man suspiciously before allowing his sharp eyes to fall back onto the soaked violet-haired woman beside him. Ebony had wrinkled her nose in that agitated manner yet again, but for some reason, the Asian no longer found it as adorable as when he first encountered it. He..did not like getting ganged up on, especially when another man was involved. Women were easy to handle, but men.. As experienced with the competitive Josh and a few others outside the Lab, David knew all too well on how easily words could become fists. So it was time to step up his guard.
Seemingly ignoring Ebony's haughty tone, David decided it was best to answer Aphi's first, as coldly as possible too, "Teacher or student, it isn't really a big deal is it? In the end, you two are just friends and that's fine. Now it's also understandable that friends would voice their opinions on their friend's other accomplices, so I guess then, it's alright if I state mine now too."
Readjusting his wooden necklace, the man raised a hand to his forehead, angling his chin upwards at the sun, taking a short pause before turning his dangerous eyes back against Aphi's own, "I wouldn't get jealous if some girl I just met got saved by some concerned friend of hers. I would get irritated though if some interfering hero-type came and "rescued" someone without fully knowing the entire situation and then had the guts to wrongly accuse me for performing or not performing certain actions."
It was obvious David's temper was rising again.

Ebony had to blink at her friend then. The way he was acting and what he’d just said…they were so unlike Aphismet. Where had this sudden cocky attitude and confidence come from? Was there more to the kindly chef than she’d let herself see? When they first met she thought maybe, but it was quickly dismissed after the time she spent with him. He just hadn’t seemed like the type.
She shook her head and decided not to say anything. Ebony looked back to David and didn’t like what she saw. And his words were so edged with cold heat it was hard for her to miss. Again she shook those drenched lavender strands and buried her face in her hands. This was stupid! Not another macho man fight. David was as much prone to anger as she was. At least the beach was a place she felt somewhat tranquil at. Ebony gave a sigh and hoped to distract the two males by placing the light elsewhere. “Whose your new friend? The one blue haired girl talking to Rivener?”

Aphismet blinked as the man seemed to take the gloves off. The chef's face slowly curled up into a mirthful smile as he tried to keep from chuckling. Strange how he suddenly saw things so differently. He'd dealt with the likes of Cody, and Julian... This guy being angry was nothing like those times, it was just someone's temper flaring. Aphi could see that.
He even ignored Ebony's attempt at curving the conversation, uncrossing his arms and clasping his hands behind his back, assuming the most casual position, non-threatening, he could think of. "Alright, I'll admit it looks like that from your point of view. But you have to admit that from MY point of view, I heard my friend screaming my name for help as she was carted to the sea by some stranger I didn't know. I made a decision, and while it might be wrong, I'd rather be wrong and do SOMETHING than do nothing and then my friend is hurt. You know? You have to see it from my way too, now." Aphi smiled in a friendly fashion, then turned to Ebony.
"That seems to be someone Rivener met, something about a star-camera... Rochan, right?" Aphi smiled at the blue-haired woman before turning back to David to hear his answer.

At Riverner’s excitement RoChan gave a small chuckle and closed the gap between them. Being ever so careful about his wings, the dragon gave the scorpion raevan a motherly hug. This was the form of greeting the blue haired woman was more used to than the cold handshakes. It was also more enjoyable with children and childlike people for some reason. Possibly because they didn’t really care about boundaries and personal space, just returning the warmth that they felt in the embrace. Stepping back she grinned at Riverner. "We'll have to talk about when is the best time for you and your guardian to come over. I live in Barton and am only here for a small vacation of sorts."
Now that she had cuddled the boyish creature she was ready to share her attention to the other three beach goers. However, the tension in the air was like a cold splash of water to the dragon’s giddiness and she quickly shoved her hand towards the Chinese man in hopes of putting out whatever fire was about to burn between the two men.
“Right, Star camera owner, RoChan reporting. I think you were on my team during the paint war right?” She smiled at David softly and turned to white haired chef with a grin. “Congratulations on winning that by the way, Aphismet. Ebony, I didn’t see you in the paint war… but you were in the limbo contest right?”

Listening to Aphismet's calm explanation of perspective and watching the white-haired man unfold and loosen up, David felt himself grow calmer as well. The anger was still simmering but it had stopped in its rise, unlike David's experience with Josh. This man seemed...fairly intellectual, and perhaps ...worth.. respecting or at least treating courteously. Popping his neck and shoulders casually, David lessened the intensity in his stare and tried replying in an equally tranquil voice as Aphismet, "And I admit that that is what it looks like from your perspective. Agreed, if it was my sister, I would have done the same as you if not more. My.." he tensed before swallowing his raging pride. "My deepest apologies, sir..?"
David suddenly felt the fool for picking a fight with someone so mature and well-mannered, someone, a complete stranger! He coughed nervously, before shifting his attention to RoChan as well, "She's a photographer then? ..wait. What's a star camera?"
A soft interest played throughout David's cooling voice. - - - - - Still giggling sweetly, Namini's azure eyes were forced to attend to the newcomer, Lillian. Staring blankly into the girl's face, slowly taking in features such as her soft chocolate hair and her hazel eyes, Namini tried to pinpoint where she had seen this face before.. It seemed the foreigner was directing herself to Isi but when Namini picked up a suspicious tone in her voice, she decided to intervene and try and smooth the girl's feathers.
"My name is Namini, Namini Nao. But you can call me Mini if you'd like, I find it a much cuter name," she sang innocently, holding out a courteous hand. "I believe I've seen you before. Can I ask your name?"
For a moment though, Namini felt a tinge of regret as she extended her hand, her eyes flickering back worriedly over Isi. Who was this girl? Whoever she was, the curly haired brunette could sense that there was a tension in the air.
