"One," Emelyn said, putting her fingers out to tick out her answers on them, "I don't think this really counts as hair anymore. But damn skippy I could get a tiara in there. Priorities. Two. ...Oh heck no... but hey, who am I to judge these days?" She put her arms straight out to her sides and spun, exhibiting her furry form in all it's 'glory', before turning back to Nita.
"And I'm 21. ...Had my birthday in December. ...You?" Emelyn asked, praying that she was older- just for the sake of her having had more life outside this island prison.

"I'm sure you'd look lovely in a tiara, hair or not."
Nita watched Em spin, amused. "My arms are fuzzy, too, you just can't really see it because the hair is so light." She held out her arm to compare.
"I'll turn 21 next month," she replied. Her birthday would be interesting this year. She'd known she'd be out of town for it, but she didn't think it would be quite this "out of town."

"Well.." Emelyn said, softly, glad that the girl wasn't- say-17 or 18, "we'll have to have a big party. If you wanted it to be a more typical 21st birthday, we could even have it on the beach. There's a beachbar there."
As she spoke, Emelyn stepped up onto the bank, standing with her back to the sun.
"It's been great to talk to you again," she said with a tiny yawn, "but after all that stretching and swimming- and that sun," she said, jerking a thumb up and over her shoulder, "I think I'm ready for a little mountain nap."

"Oh! This girl Fiona is planning a beach party, although she's not sure when it'll be. I don't know if that counts as returning to society, but she's really excited about it." Nita traipsed out of the water and worked on wringing out her hair.
"I don't need anything special for my birthday, but I could pretend Fiona's thing was partially for me." She nodded and brushed large droplets off of her arms and legs.
With most of the moisture wrung out, and the rest quickly evaporating with the heat, Nita pulled her jeans and t-shirt back on. "Anyway, I'll see you around, I'm sure." Once she was re-dressed, her shoes hung around her neck, she waved and followed the river back towards the village, smiling slightly to herself.

New RP
Alec stumbled through the jungle, kicking foliage and debris out from under his feet as he went. The jungle was hot, suffocating almost, and he was beginning to regret his venture. He hadn't seen a face since his small chat with Nita and it was starting to make him wonder where exactly everyone was.
Then the announcement was heard.
"Fookin' manhunt?" The irish boy frowned, his expression twisting in revolt. This didn't sound good, especially the idea that he would be punished as well if the perpetrator wasn't caught and handed over. Did he want to hunt another one like him? Did he even want to come in contact with this person!? Regardless, he continued searching in a direction that felt cooler for some reason, like water was nearby.
"This is fookin' CRAZEH!" He yelled out in frustration as a palm branch snapped underfoot and jabbed his ankle.

"I know. Absolutely MAD."
A soft rustling in a low tree branch announced the presence of another - one with no shirt, silvery fur, and a wide, mad grin. His ears flicked, and he swung his feet.
"...But isn't it always? People lose their way, things go off, and...well...that's the Island. This could just be how I see things, though."
His bright green eyes leered down at the man, sparkling.
"Might want to watch those branches."

Alec swung around so fast he nearly fell in a tangled mass of leaves and shoelaces if not for a the luck of his balance. Grey eyes darted around the area until they fell on the speaker, relaxing a bit at the sight of the felinesque male. He stared for a moment, the shock draining from his system though the adrenaline was still coursing strong. "Ye... a' guess ye righ'." He forced a smile, then a laugh. "Nothin's vereh normal 'ere anymore, uh?"
At the mention of branches, he made a note to steady his footing a bit better and to avoid the masses of low-laying vegetation in the future. "M'name's Alec." He gestured with his head as he stuffed his hands into his pockets, expecting a returned introduction.

"...Alec. Hrm. Now, WHO do you look like to me? I can't place it, just yet...."
He hopped down from the branch, landing gracefully among the fallen leaves and brush.
"...I am the Cheshire Cat. Pleased to meet your aquaintance, I'm certain." His grin broadened, showing off his sharp, feline teeth. "...You're new, aren't you?"

Alec watched him curiously, tilting his head to the side as he watched him land with almost a silence to his step. "Ch'shire?" He blinked at the name, not making the literary connection. He simply thought it was an odd choice of nickname.
He took a small step backwards at the presentation of the sharp fangs which put him on edge. "Ye, sorta. Been 'ere fo' a few weeks." The teen shrugged his shoulders, trying to look at ease. What about him was making him feel so unwell? He looked harmless...

"...Ah...I see. Welcome to the fold, I suppose. Though I'm not certain that welcome is the appropriate word...."
His tail flicked, and he flexed his claws a little, taking a moment to lick one of them. An ear turned forward, tuning into Alec. "...I really can't place it. Now WHO are you? It's simply going to drive me...oop."
He chuckled softly at his own...joke?
"...What are you doing out here?"

He tried to understand what Cheshire was talking about. Although the conversation wasn't bad enough yet that he couldn't follow along, it was definetly confusing. He didn't even catch Cheshire's little jest.
Seeing as he'd never met him before, he thought it impossible that he'd remind him of someone he knew. Trying not to think too much on it, he continued with the chat. "Ah... just wanderin', lookin' f'people. Y'hear tha' weird message? Geez..." He shook his head to himself, still disturbed by the situation.

His smile remained frozen on his face. Maybe it was a poor indicator of emotion for him...or maybe he was just really, really happy. All the time.
"Of course I heard. Sensitive ears." He licked at the back of his hand (or...paw?), running it back through his dark locks. "What do you make of it?"

"Bad, realleh bad." The teen felt odd standing there by the river and looked around for a place to sit. Finding none he liked, he simply crossded his arms and remained standing there with his weight on one leg. "A' onleh met th'girleh once but i's not like a'd try n' kill 'er." He chuckled a bit at this though his voice still held a tinge of nervousness. "Who'd do tha'?" Alec looked to Cheshire as if he'd provide somesort of answer, immediately regretting it. That grin was a little creepy.

"Well, she's not the Queen of Hearts. A rebel card is unlikely."
The Cat continued speaking, running his claws down a tree trunk and stretching languidly. The healing claw marks upon him had long since stopped hurting, fortunately.
"...I can't think of a soul, sadly."

"Queen o' wuh?" Alec blinked rapidly, trying to figure out what he meant. Attributing his lack of intelligence to the confusing conversation, the punk teen was just about ready to ask Cheshire what medication he was on.
It didn't help that his incessant scratchin, licking and grinning was distracting any train of thought he could acquire.
"Neitheh c'n I..." He trailed off finally, letting his gaze drift along the riverbank. "So wha' are ye doin ou' 'ere?"
