Bloody hell. He scared me. Elke jumped as he felt his touch. She shook her head, wishing she'd left the mall sooner like she had planned. "I'm scared. I'm scared." She stammered, gripping her hands together in a nervous hold as they shook together.

She sighed with release, opening them both and looking about. She turned her head, brushing his left shoulder. That's where you shot him. "Did did I hurt you?"

I dug the bullet out and cauterized it with a melting coat hanger, I'll be fine says Danny, saying that like it was the most normal thing in the world.

Man. That's icky. Gah. Elke nodded, her face saddened. "I'm sorry. I didn't I didn't want to trouble you with this. I. I'm sorry." Elke shook lightly in his arms, trying to look away from his face. I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't come, she thought. Don't think about that. You would have been fine. You would have gotten up and kicked that guy's butt. You would have been fine.

His words didn't comfort her. She felt guilty for so much. She couldn't shake these feelings. They bore on her. Elke. None of this is your fault. None. Do you hear me? You didn't do anything wrong. "I I shot you." She simply said, the thought finally becoming real to her. "I've sinned, I'm a horrible person. I I I.." She squirmed frantically in his arms, she'd changed. Where was the girl who wouldn't shoot no matter what?

You did the right thing, Elke. If you won't listen to me, listen to him. He's not as bad as I thought. Elke shakes, her hands brushing wrinkles out of her skirt. "I I I know. I just." Elke stopped short, not knowing how to explain the constant guilt. She grinned slightly, she wouldn't do this to him. "I'm fine, really. I'm fine."

Me too. You were really going bonkers there. I thought I'd lost you for a second. Elke embraced him, feeling safe in her arms. She stood there, wondering why she was so lucky to find someone so understanding like him. Though he said Russ wouldn't be acting up, she was still worried. Could this guy be trusted? "I'm glad you're fine, too."
